Civil War II - Choosing Sides 2.png

Just read the latest Civil War II: Choosing Sides, and the story about the heroes reacting to Rhodey's death unexpectedly made me tear up. The writing is very good, and I think it partly made me emotional because of all the tension in the US right now.
>>
Yes, but also I really hope your post is a troll post.
>>
Death of Captain Marvel got me a bit teary, although not outright crying. Same with Death of Spider-Man (the last bit of quality that Bendis has ever produced).

X-cutioner's song epilogue, starring Jubilee and Xavier.

you know which scene.
>>
>>84570846
Seriously? This comic? The art was nice, but it was a dude overwriting a bunch of characters with his own ideas to be topical to the events of the moment, which just comes across as crass given Marvel's decision to kill Rhodes for shock value in the first place. And he wrote his damn daughter into it.

>>
>>84570846
It's sad to think that he was killed since being a black man isn't progressive anymore. So they kill him and replace him with a black woman. Ten years from now they will replace her with a black transwoman who is also a midget but self-identifies as an attack helicopter. Since if your characters aren't filling in diversity quotas they are useless to Marvel now.

This whole issue had so many feels

>Luke and Jessica last kiss just a few minutes before the apocalypse
>Soraya and Dave staying in the Mighty Avengers hotline to comfort the guy who thought he was going to die alone

The concept of "required reading" went out the window when reading comics stopped being a prerequisite for posting on /co/. Nowadays, you're lucky to find someone that's read ANY comics let alone read the "required reading."

Man, my feels. You know, with this and Loki:AoA I think that Ewing took advantage of the end of the world scenario far better than Hickman did.
>>
>>84572204
I dunno man I liked the whole their really is no hope thing, but I felt it could have been handled better.

How would you have changed it, but still made it so that they can't win.
>>
Spider-man once or twice.
Also suprisingly the Mary-Jane loves Spider-man one with the flashback.

Hank's eulogy at the end of Rage of Ultron made me tear up. I also teared up when animal man was trying to use timetravel to save his family but only ended up as the ghost that appeared in the issues from time to time.

For better or worse, no one writes a tie-in comic quite as well as Ewing. You could argue that his event tie-ins usual turn out to be his best issues.

Which unfortunately is a double-edged sword because it also means that Ewing is constantly getting his books sucked into non-stop event tie-ins after event tie-ins while never giving them room to breath and when most of the events he's tie-ing into aren't very good, it becomes hard to fully recommend his runs. Like Ultimates, which is all fucking fantastic, but then half the comic is going to be devoted to Civil War II tie-ins once all is said and done. Mighty Avengers was nothing but event tie-ins, and Loki: AoA had his fair share as well. Even New Avengers went straight from Standoff tie-in to Civil War II tie-in.

His tie-ins are always the best of any given event, but man, the one book of his that didn't get consumed by constant tie-ins was Contest of Champions, and it got cancelled at issue 10.

His civil war II issues aren't just tie ins, they are the backbone of the entire story. He's adressed and corrected so many of Bendis fuckups that I'm willing to say the main event is just a tie in of Ultimates.
