There are plenty of times where the stuffed toy is lost and everyone other then calvin sees him as a stuffed toy. Obviously Hobbes is an elder god abomination that can only be seen by Calvin, sort of like the plot from mannequin, only more evil!

I'll try to do the 2nd year next week, though no promises. And despite doing the strip for 10 years there are only 9 books because Watterson took a long (9 month) hiatus mid-way.

That was great. I always pretend to like Calvin and Hobbs but I actually never read more than a few strips before today. Now I can stop pretending and just like it.

I love the facial expressions Bill uses, always makes me laugh harder than the words.

What's the best big book of all the comic strips? I've hardly ever read these but the few I have, I really like.
Or is there just one book of them?

There's a 3 volume collection of every strip, in chronological order, that I own which is called "the complete calvin and hobbes". It can be had on amazon for about $60. The old collections like the Essential C&H, indispensable etc were missing multiple strips and had them out of chronological order. Of course, you could find the entire collection on the internet as well.
