Except if it's a hominid robot, then it absolutely is efficient for them to have a head. The reason so many life forms have heads at all is to have a central vantage point containing all their sensory organs. Imagine how annoying your life would be if you had your eyes, ears, and nose on your torso.

you know, having a central intake for oil in the mouth/eusophagus area would kind of make sense if you're making a humanoid robot. The head is one of the highest points so you would have a gravity assisted oil delivery system. moreover, there's little reason to have it anywhere else, seeing as your theoretical robot's torso would also probably host a whole load of other stuff.

in fact, come to think about it, the most logical place to put the CPU and sensors would be in the head, away from all the other parts for cooling purposes and the oil pump about where the heart is for gravity assisted delivery to lower areas and a shorter travel to the arms, neck and head.

also, it's definitely better for a robot to be drinking oil than water.

Both ID and evolution still have the same endpoint in this case, which is a system which works well enough. I'm not advocating ID in the slightest, because it's stupid and that's a whole other can of worms we don't need to open, just saying either way, the result is the structure of a human works. If you've got a robot advanced enough to move like a human then there's no real reason it couldn't ingest oil in a similar manner.

If you constantly need lubricant it implies that either you are leaking lubricant (not a good sign) or that you are being refitted. It makes more sense if Futurama robots ran off oil, with it being a high energy compound, to always require more.
