Villains do this "save the galaxy from the bigger bad" thing all the time without having a crisis. They brush it off as "this is my galaxy to conquer" as Hater did in the same episode.

But yeah I'm not against a third season. I was more genuinely curious about what would be the big draws for a third season, as I couldn't think of anything I severely wanted to see.

I didn't really like Dominator as a character. The concept was good, and she was utilized well as a plot device, but I felt that her kind of obnoxious personality didn't really fit with the idea that she was supposed to be a serious villain invading a goofy cartoon world. I understand why they went that route, to make her a dark parallel to Wander's excitability and glee in helping others, but having her act like a teenage bully was a little much.

Her voice talent was fantastic, at least. Her singing voice especially is just amazing.

I was barely caring about cartoons that time. The only things I was seeing getting posted everywhere were SU and GF and while I liked GF I was never a fan of it and I barely visited /co/ until half of season 2 was already done. I love WoY and the characters since the very first episode I watched so I was kinda pissed at my own stupidity for not starting this sooner.

I really wish to know the reason why they cancelled it in the first place. They did it after the second season's production was nearly finished and before it aired which implies that there is something about the story or show itself, especially during the second season, that Disney doesn't like to have on its channel.

No, it started before that. The humour comes mostly from the writing and the battering of it's own formula and cliche's.
I mean you could say it's educational in the way they'll base an episode around string theory, but that's more for gags. I've seen it mostly compared to classic Simpsons in its writing.

I even agree that Wander/Hater or Hater/Peepers episodes are among the best and hell, I didn't even loved characters that much for years. But TNO is one of my favorites nonetheless because it was Sylvia and Dom centered and showed some different aspects of Dom and a less abstract setting. It was basically about two delinquent girls enjoying a night in some metropolis.

Not him but is there any way to make the saving of full versions on tumblr less annyoing? Some profile styles make it pretty easy but for others you have to open the image in a new tab and even then I've seen some that only display the 540 versions so that you have to change the url manually to 1280 to get the full view. I don´t really know. I started with the Picnic and I immediately found Hater and Peepers pretty entertaining, with Wander as "yeah, he´s pretty funny, but I like the skeleton more". However, as the show went on I came to appreciate Wander and Sylvia a lot more. If I really had to choose an episode that made me pause and rewind several parts, I´d say it was "The Greater Hater". From then on this show raced to my top 3 cartoons of all time.

Basically all of the lore and character background was planned for season three. If there was one thing this show lacked it was character background and world building. Not only would we have gotten that but Wander would have been the one getting tested for once and the others need to help him, instead of vice versa, the mains would have gotten own arcs (at least Peepers and Hater) and therefore their final development, we would have learned more about Sylvia and Wander and a bunch of side characters as well. We would have even gotten some new important characters and Hater would have dealt with him being a hero now.
I love the first two seasons but it seems like season 3 would have been the part that would have given everything its meaning and actual conclusion.

Disney. Season 2 was good and it was some nice in-between season focusing on Hater's development and the chemistry between the four MCs. I guess this was necessary before they can jump into season 3. They probably planned to do a lot with Hater which couldn't have happened in season 2 due to his problems there. It's a pretty common route, having a story with three parts as beginning > change/development > consequences + end.
I think mixing all those ideas into season 2 wouldn't have worked or it would at least have been rushed. Hell, the crew confirmed that they even were about to explore a whole new galaxy in season 3 since the old one was destroyed and reborn.

Not really or at least not like that and not in cartoons/anime. I always waited for this for my whole life, but everything I got before were villains who were redeemed at the end and pretty quickly due to some silly speech of the MC and they usually become irrelevant after that. One of the things I really love about WoY is the small cast of important characters. It's basically a series about Hater and Wander, who are both accompanied by their sidekicks. Everything else is somehow just there to give one or more of these characters more depth. Big casts always destroy that.

That was the moment I realized I was going to love Hater. At first I thought he´d just be a comedic foil for Wander, the typical parody of a Darth Vader by making him hold a title of great power but giving him a personality incompatible with holding any power whatsoever. But then he single handedly defeats Awesomes's army and punched him through a planet. Hater was not only funny; he was also badass. And from then on he became one of my favorite characters.

There are always small details to be found. I haven't noticed that Jeff was one of the bunch of people glorifying Hater at the end, pic related. The fan gets cheered by his idol. Hater even looks at him in this screenshot.

Really? I get the character aspect but I feel like the world is generic and directionless. The world changes to fit the needs of the script, rather than having any sort of structure. Adventure Time is actually really poor at its world building and character development, but that's probably because they didn't plan to do that in the begining, but Wander actually had plans, so I feel they could pull it off really well.
