Since both are dub premieres, Viz is getting big time advertising for future Blu Rays. It's a fact that airing on Toonami results in a sale spike of merch and BDs. For all we know Viz gave it to Toonami for next to nothing, being cheap as hell would explain Demarco's eagerness to add another long runner.

This works another way too, if there is a series a distributor wants to keep to themselves, think is worth more than a Toonami run, etc, they can jack the price to a hilariously high amount. Demarco either walks or buys it at a massive markup, as we saw with AoT

And for the millionth time, FLCL was in the works way before Toonami jumped on board. They are a contributor to the project, not the sole payers or founders
