Miles' problem that got stated with the crossovers is that his comic is too reactionary: problems just come to him with him and his crew responding to them. Miles never moves the ball like he did early on. Even the villains don't go at him for anything HE has done to them. Even recently, the Blackcat started something but lost the heart midway to take out Miles and just offered him Silk's deal to work together.

To get better Miles needs to make more moves and take more risks.
