Eggman kept hyping him up and making a big deal about how he's so popular and edgy and he just spent most of his screen time standing there with his arms crossed. I love that this comic is back. The Sonic (leader and inmature rebel), Tails (naive youth and brains), Amy (gentler and generally more optimistic) and Knuckles (the rival and gullible muscle) make such a strong fucking dynamic.

Even the colour scheme for the four of them, Blue, yellow, red, pink, is solid. Their designs too (Sonics spikes symbolising his speed and rebellious nature, while Knuckles' long dreads show a more laid back nature coupled with the red showing a temperate to become hot blooded). A lot of thought went into these guys, more than people give SEGA credit for. Theres a reason thy work so well and pretty much any fan/comic OC/tv show character doesn't.

They just look right together on the page.

Standalone chao raising game with Cream and Vanilla as main NPCs with no real endgame, just more indepth training/breeding than SA2B and more special events to enter them into.

The closest game I've played that gave me a chao fix was Slime Rancher, but it's not training based. Just simple amounts of breeding and then harvesting goo for money to expand your ranch with. It was definitely just as cute, though

The guy who coded the entire chao system for both Sonic Adventure games has a patent on the source code. He left Sega after Sonic Adventure 2 and took the code with him.

Apparently it was a living hell to program, so Sonic Team figured it wasn't worth the effort. That's why it isn't around anymore.

I didn't mind CG being the way it was in SA2, but honestly, it would be better as just something extra and free of use instead of being tied to completion, and leave the Sonic gameplay to, well, Sonic. Just like Big's Fishing, that was a even worse example of "obvious extra mode shit" it should have been.

I see where you're coming from, but I still gotta disagree. "100% completion" is such an arbitrary title. I wouldn't want them to gate massive amounts of content behind it of course. But I have no problem with one final reward sitting back there, waiting. Or achievements specifically for attending to chao. Knuckles was my favorite Sanic character when I was a kid and I love what they've done with him in Boom.
