The reason is simple. Back in the 70s you had blaxploitation films. Around the same time, by sheer coincidence, you saw a lot of Kung Fu movies being dubbed out of Hong Kong and the rise of Bruce Lee. So when you go to a cinema in the ghetto, you'd end up with like, a Shaft / Enter the Dragon double feature or something like that.

Eventually the two became sort of blended, so you have black guys guys like Jim Kelly or Kareem Abdul Jabaar doing scenes with Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon.

So from there it's not too big a leap to anime.

I think that's a bit of a generalization. Japanese art and french art generally does action and overall aesthetics a bit better than american animation. I mean when it comes down the best of both it really just turns into cherry picking, but I'de much rather watch the average anime than the average American cartoon. You don't really get exciting moments in American animation anymore, and there's a huge lack of variety in style or substance nowadays.

Something about him being a fuckin moron during the production of Boondocks. He was incompetent and didn't understand how to do anything, so other animators and directors, mostly the ones who worked at Dong Woo, had to basically do all the work for him while he stood around nodding, not understanding anything being said (because they were speaking in Korean and Lesean is monolingual).

I briefly looked into ripping the episode but vimeo splits into up into more than 100 .m4s segments. It's possible to piece them together into one file and upload them somewhere but I don't have the patience for downloading and organizing every one of them individually.

We have to adapt and decide our own destiny as best we can, and sometimes I see millennial trends that are encouraging, like the small house movement, though it has it's older fans as well. I think we just need to figure out how to direct the righteous anger our generation has toward innovation and solutions, instead of these stupid hate movements disguised as social consciousness.
