ITT: Cartoons only you remember
>>84343486
Holy shit, I remember this. What the hell was this called?
>>84343712
Father of the pride
>>84343754
Thanks, wasn't it an adult swim show or something. I remember it being a late-night comedy at the very least
>>84343781
I think it was Fox.
>>84343781
Nope, prime time sitcom, only with lions. Didn't last long.
>>84343837
NBC
>>84343879
Shit, I haven't thought about this in ages, but I definitely remember it. I think I even had a Rude Dog shirt.
>>84344088
Wasn't this actually a clothing line that somehow got a cartoon?
>>84343855
It was obscenely expensive because they were trying to do movie quality with lots of fuzzy animals.
>>84343486
>accurate Donkey outside of the Shrek universe, not even a knock-off or subtle reference, just literally fucking Donkey
What the fuck?
>>84343486
>>84343486
You saw the post on Tumblr too today?
>inb4 tumblr
I only came here to take a pulse on the /co/ response to the new SU promo (I didn't like it, but the rest of the site sure did).
Anyone remember this cartoon with a black cat and an orange dog, they live in this giant mansion where everything is giant and they like tiny in comparison. Its a tom and jerry style show with no real plot. I faintly remember it but can't remember it. Or find it for that matter..
>>84345001
He's an actor in that universe.
Try not to question it too much.
>>84345105
Dick Cheney's annoying gimmick, terrible animation, and dicksucking of Obama aside, I rather liked lil Bush.
>>84345001
The show was created by Dreamworks, so yeah
>>84344759
what is that?
>>84343486
So many sex jokes.
FURRY sex jokes.
>>84345968
Well yeah, you can't be a cartoon for adults without being as crass as possible
>Grandpa lion slaps a lioness' ass on her way out the door
I still remember that shit, very surprised it wasn't just a kids cartoon.
>>84346096
Oh man.
The grandpa lived in much better times.
>>84346013
This one opened up with the main character's entire family dying on screen. How's that for a hook?
>>84346096
do you also call every cartoon "disney" and every video game "nintendo"
>>84343486
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxC0JrBHoYg
>>84345480
did you try google?
Dis nigga here.
I was really into dragons as a kid, always being irked when they died in fairy tales. First fan work I ever made was a self-insert comic of some Russian folk tail in which the mighty Ivan became dragon toast. I think I was 9 or 10.Also got a scaly fetish for some time as a result; but since I didn't have Internet at the time, it eventually evaporated. I also fantasized about turning into a Stegosaurus when I was 7.
>>84347314
*tale blah
>>84347220
Thanks bud, that really narrows it down.
>>84347314
Sheeeeeeeit I loved this show. Could only catch it if I was off school on a sick day.
I made an ass of myself in 3rd grade when I coordinated a massive roleplay of it for recess only to not know what the fuck to do when we got there.
I still remember the theme song...
>>84344545
Buh- buh muh CGI is cheap meme!
>>84347357
>using google's best guess
>somehow not expecting "woman" to give you wonder woman results
I'm embarrassed on your behalf.
My memory's a bit fuzzy since it was so long ago, but I'm pretty sure I absolutely loved this cartoon for some reason.
>>84343486
Eh... this show will be 10 years old next year.
>>84349350
The pilot for this was really fucking cool. Stop motion and everything. It's too bad the show seems to be family guy tier garbage.
https://vimeo.com/98621656
>>84347396
Well yes, moving forward they realized they could save a bunch of money by texturing fur instead of rendering it, but back then they were trying way too hard.
>>84349471
But it has way better sense of humor than current Family Guy itself.
>>84345105
Wasn't this the show that Comedy Central cancelled Drawn Together for?
>>84343976
I remember basically none of that show, but I do remember
>and Godzooookyyyyyy
My grandma used to have this on video when I was a kid. Anyone else remember it?
No one remembers this show
>>84349638
Is that the blue toes the elf?
I have a box of 3 VHS of a cartoon about the Puss in boots, the Little Red Riding Hood and Gulliver. An orange cat was telling the story, and was even warped by magic in the story of the Little Red Riding Hood.
Not even Google seems to remember it, no image or anything about it. I guess it's literally a cartoon only me remember.
>>84343486
That show was great. Pity it was expensive to make and the average american viewer couldn't process the words "FOR ADULTS ONLY" when they read it, assuming they were able to read to being with, and decided to watch the "funny looking animal show" with their underage crotch droppings.
In alternate universe where people aren't retards this show got a second season and is regarded as an early 00's success.
>>84347041
Wasn't that from "What a cartoon"?
>>84345105
What the fuck was the 2000's
>Downloaded it
>2 minutes in
>close video player
>recycle bin.
>>84351449
Everyone in /co/ likes Kappa Mikey, you know that?
>>84351523
haha your just fucking with me, right?
>>84349471
It's an interesting difference in style, but I have one question...
Where's Mr Boots?
sad that this awesome show premiered during CBS E/I mandate...
>>84349638
>>84349651
I don't even remember those ones.
>>84352461
>tenkai knights is so unpopular (thanks to CN shitty scheduling) that no one remembers it
>>84347872
>I'm pretty sure I absolutely loved this
Rewatch it anon.
It will be like running into that hot girl from high school years later only to find out she was a guy and fat.
>>84345968
This should of been the animated movie for adults instead of Sausage party
>>84351886
This show was pretty dark. Classic 90s cyberpunk.
What mandate?
>>84347041
Is this Krab's great grandson?
>>84354564
After the 1996-97 season, most of CBS Kids shows became dull edutainment. The Weird Al Show and Santo Bugito tried to avert this. Tried.
>>84354678
>The Weird Al Show and Santo Bugito tried to avert this.
Really? I'm currious for this now.
>>84355024
Weird Al wanted to make a show on par with Pee-Wee's Playhouse but dull, humorless executives all but killed the show, limiting it to 13 episodes
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/TheWeirdAlShow
I've been kicking myself for not watching after all these years then again my first year in high school was hella restrictive (it was at a Catholic high school).
>>84349651
>No one remembers this show
I remember Cartoon Network airing it at like 5 or 6am on Saturdays right before Pokemon and I think on Weekdays.
I caught a few minutes of it but was never interested.
Does anybody remember this one animated Christmas special that focused on elves? All I remember is the use of Paul McCartney's "A Wonderful Christmastime" at one point, while the main character (an elf child) is walking with a taller elf (possibly the designated villain).
A while back someone clued me in on What It's Like Being Alone. Funny stuff.
>>84355202
Oh God. That's disturbing.
>>84347041
I like how that guy is pretty much just Zapp Brannigan, down to West doing the same voice roughly.
Also wow that doctor's ass is as thick as her accent.
>>84349651
What is that show, it looks good.
>>84351886
>>84354564
>Classic 90s cyberpunk
Apparently it was pitched as an educational show, making it the only piece of cyberpunk edutainment I know of.
I actually have a fair amount of love for the show. It could be pretty fun, especially the villain, but the writers/directors/whoever had a tendency to accentuate the worst aspects of GKR's personality. His catchphrases could come off as annoying, but it's slightly interesting when you realizethat since he's practically a newborn he's trying to figure out how language works.
Still legitimately worth a watch.
And it has a race of talking dinosaurs.
>>84355202
>it was at a Catholic high school
Christ (no pun intended), but Weird Al is even Christian. I'm pretty sure he's non-denominational though, and depending on the sort of Catholics that's worse than being Anglican.
>>84355740
Tenkai Knights.
>>84355545
Yeah I remember watching this late at night on CBC, good shit.
>>84347041
so this is the cartoon that inspired symmetra

>>84355887
The Catholic High School I attended was strict on being punctual. Sadly my ma was not a morning person and I spent my Saturday in detention. And they demanded money every chance they got.
I also missed a good portion of The Silver Surfer because of this then again considering how the show ended....
>>84345105
Comedy Central was so hellbent on having a "Let's make fun of Bush" show, they tried and failed TWICE.
First was That's My Bush. Like any of you remember it. The when it flopped they tried Lil Bush. It flopped too.
Eventually they just settled on the Daily Show and Colbert Report as their sources for Let's Make Fun of Bush.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pGkY_RHJIs
>>84349651
This show actually wasn't bad.
Loved the shit out of this show when dinosaurs were all the rage thanks to Jurassic Park.
These pudding-hungry niggas.
Also that old show with the puppet cats, dog and cockatoo, can't remember the name
>>84357056
Wasn't that Grinch like bowl magic and they always tried to eat it?
>>84357117
Who can forget Darkwing Duck? I believe it's still popular.
>>84357182
Yeah, Albert the Magic Pudding. Could turn into any pudding/meal you asked for and was infinite in supply. Voiced by motherfucking John Cleese.
>>84357117
Huh. Are you sure about the dog and cat? Because the puppet cockatoo made me think of this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkBkR5jb6u0
>>84345105
>We have a new show all about making fun of George Bush!
>Wait, he has HOW many months left in office?
>>84357259
It is still popular, but no one cultivate that very much. People are busy cultivating other cartoons these days.
I am trying to remember the name of an animation which main character looked like this (kek).
The figures looked like child drawings and everything happened in a virtual world setting.
Also just remembered picrelated.
>>84352510
Worst part is that it actually isn't half-bad.
>>84357735
only watched this so I could fap to nutsy
>>84357650
I discovered this by watching french channel called TV5. Good times.

>>84355545
what's that? looks like a stopmotion show about freaky monster. how is it called? is it good?
more important question: is that a new obscure goth waifu?
>>84343770
Go away Skrek
>>84344545
that, and right after the first episode (i think) Roy was mauled by one of the tigers
>>84357632
I think I know what you're talking about but I can't remember the name either.
>>84357632
>>84359002
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVtzCO7C6Is
It's this, right?
I remember this show about a bird and a cat that were the pets of a witch and a wizard that were siblings, they had to put curses on the city they lived on, and the cat and bird had to stop the curse following a specific anticurse before it became permanent.
>>84351523
They like the opening, probably.
I Can't Believe it's Not Butter had an animated webseries. It also aired on some Direct TV channel briefly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7vo4DZqq-I&list=PL5lu3cPA1KmWvrYPNXgfo5u_wIba0p5z3
>>84347872
Made by the same guys who brought you S.W.A.T. Kats believe it or not.
It was a show about a genius spy kid and his superspy bodyguard going on missions around the world. They got to each site via being shot out of a cannon (that IIRC was hidden in the Eiffel Tower? or maybe some generic water tower) in some orb thing. It was called The Boy, and it has been impossible to find any trace of it in English.
>>84357144
I HAVE BEEN FUCKING SEARCHING FOR THIS SHOW FOR AGES! THANK YOU ANON <3 luv ya
>>84343486
Fun fact:
Father of the Pride cost 1.6 million dollars PER EPISODE to make. They made 14 episodes. Ratings were so bad they didn't even bother airing the last two episodes.
It's considered one of the biggest TV bombs ever.
>>84356798
The music on this show was sublime.
>>84356971
I watched that with my roommates sometimes since all we had was basically ion/qubo/cw. It was terrible, but the entertaining kind of terrible. Also, Rob Paulsen voiced the bully and like half of the one-shot characters.
>>84362267

>>84367182
It's a french production.
I wish more than 6 out of 51 episodes got dubbed in English. At least the comics up to volume 5 were translated.
Somehow this show even got PC / Dreamcast game based on it.
No one has ever had a clue what I'm talking about whenever I bring this one up.
>>84366241
Unfortunately I remember. The show was called Miss Spider. This character in particular was just unsettling.
>>84367311
Literally the only thing I remember about this show is an old guy talking about how he went to the future to get tomorrow's newspaper.
I have no idea why I remember that scene specifically. I'm not even sure if that's how it went, and I'm not even sure this is the show it came from.
What's that series where there were aliens living with a kid in a lighthouse
>>84366144
Sky High also had the same plot
>>84356446
>First was That's My Bush. Like any of you remember it.
There was something magical about giving the President a sitcom wacky neighbor who just barges in unannounced.
This one was pretty based. Contrary to the usual, the video game existed first, and the cartoon was made off it.
>>84368499
more like, contrary to the usual, the series based in the game was good

A mix of both, and iirc the cartoonist of the show was a muppet dog who would sometimes interact with the cartoon protagonist.

>The early development of Pelswick was incredibly annoying: make the show more realistic but make sure that elderly characters like GramGram are always cool and hip: (p. 23 Gram-Gram: “acquire this land... for a song” – please change ‘for a song’ to something more kid-accessible. Perhaps, ‘reeeeeeeealll cheap.”) Pelswick’s father is a university professor but don’t have him say anything intellectual that wouldn’t be “kid-relatable.” Children in testing seem to love the stone-dumb friend Goon but please avoid making fun of the stupid. Please make the other best friend ethnic. No toilet jokes, even though kids love them. Please add some X Games because kids like those. Please build up the character of Pelswick’s antagonistic female classmate Julie. And please give Julie a funny black friend. Please enlarge Julie’s and Sandra’s roles in the series...
>Note that if you follow all of these notes to the letter, you get Jimmy Neutron, and his friends Carl, Sheen, Cindy and Libby.
>This was the series where we got the note, “Today, there are not too many kids walking around with a book. I think we could make this more hip and current to place a computer in his hands…”

>As I type these words I’m involved in a series the target audience for which is children about ten. On this series we’ve been told that kids won’t understand:
>The Mona Lisa (“Can we have an image that is more recognizable to the audience? Remember, Irma ain’t the smart one.”)
>A passing reference in a joke to folic acid. Or a kazoo. Or Madagascar. Or Rasputin.
>A joke reference to the flooding of the Yangtze River. (“No kid will understand Taranee’s line about sandbagging the Yangtzee River. We want her to be smart, but we can't have lines that totally go over kids’ heads. Make it something they know, like the Mississippi.”)
>On Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (which should be called Jimmy Neutron: Boy Inventor) we had occasion to put a short mathematical formula into a joke. The showrunner asked that the (brief, real) formula be removed and replaced with “E = mc2,” regardless of the fact that it isn’t a math formula, it’s a physics formula. Children can’t be exposed to something that a genius would know, because they might not have heard of it.
>On W.I.T.C.H. we had the smartest girl, Taranee, coaching a friend for a Science test, explain the xylum and phloem inside a plant stem. The note: “Please replace this with something kids will know.” But if every kid knows it and it’s the best our character can do... isn’t she by definition not so bright? Besides which, we pleaded, we were explaining to kids what it was, right in the script.
>“Please make the substitution.”
>>84371503
>We wrote a pilot for an animated series, The Dumb Bunnies, which was to be sold with an educational mandate. We used the theme of Water. So condensation, freezing, Oceans, the Water Cycle. We were told it was “too intellectual.” And, mind you, this is The Dumb Bunnies. A bunny is asked to get rid of a puddle on the driveway. He puts a metal handle in it... waits until Winter... then carries the frozen puddle away. I was told, “This is confusing – kids can’t think that far ahead.”
>We were urged, on a Disney Channel / CBC show, Danger Bay, to research the behavior of orang-utans so that the orang in our episode would do things real orang-utans do. One of the things they do is imitate human actions. We put some human-imitating in the script. A human put on a hat; the orang put on a hat. The CBC found this “insulting to the dignity of the animal,” and replaced it with several things that orang-utans in fact never do.
>I always figured that about ten percent of beginning writers, when first confronted with notes this idiotic, rebel and point out the obvious. Or say, “You’re kidding. Right? Because nobody I have met in the real world is that stupid.” These writers are fired, and it’s the remaining 90% of us who, as the line beyond which we cannot be pushed drifts further away with each TV season, soldier on like a cadre of dedicated doctors quixotically committed to saving human life while their every patient dies.

>I mentioned one Monday night that we were soon to leave The Tonight Show and had been entertaining offers from studios for an overall writing deal. Did he favor one studio over the others? Glen shook his head, leaned forward and said, “It doesn’t matter which one you choose. They can’t tell you anything, and they can’t help you.”
>At the time I puzzled over this but now it feels like great wisdom. Quick example: a writer friend of mine knows someone who was on-set for a run-through when the young preppy studio suit questioned a line: what’s this in the kitchen scene about eating leftovers? The writers explained the joke to him, but that wasn’t the problem. He’d never heard of leftovers.
>Another friend pitched a pilot story in which a lower-middle-class family held a garage sale to make the extra $500 they needed to pay that month’s rent. The NBC development ladies didn’t buy it as a story: “Everyone has $500!”
>These jobs don’t pay well. Okay, in the upper bureaucratic echelons, when you’ve proved yourself by crippling many a series, there’s money. But the starting salary is low, and you can’t live on a low salary in L.A. and still wear a nice suit and drive everywhere in a BMW. So it attracts the kind of people who don’t need the money: the children of the rich, the dilettante kids of showbiz parents, the folks who don’t know there’s another bathroom at the back of the plane. In the Middle Ages the useless offspring of the wealthy became monks. Now they supervise Monk

Ad Libs was pretty good desu.

I loved it as a kid, very Tom and Jerry. There was a movie too, it was pretty good.

I still have dreams featuring this character in the weirdest situations. Like driving a car and going off road and driving upside down. It's so weird. She usually has a gun and nothing makes sense.

Holy shit! Thanks for posting, anons. Got a nice nostalgia kick in the nuts... and thus the FEEELS.
Dat music score, epic.
Does anyone remember a Claymation show that used to be on back in the 90's about a kid who could go behind his couch to another world [citation needed] and he had two little alien friends, one was pink (Male) and the other was green (Female) and the pink guy was an absolute pussy and he'd scream "HOLY MACARONI"
I've been searching for this shit forever. Does anyone else remember this or did I make it up?

The composer even rerecorded the score with the London Philharmonic. Sounds bloody epic. I can't remember the last time a show got a proper philharmonic score (not counting Harvey Beaks).

Oh, Oscar and Friends.
And it was the green dude who was the pussy.

I could literally suck your dick right now. I have been searching for this show for years now and no one thought it existed. I was starting to think I imagined it
I fucking love you

I'm not German but I almost religiously watched their channels as a kid (RTL II, ProSieben, etc.) because most of the good cartoons were aired there (and a lot of great movies).
Though as a consequence Darth Vader and the Simpsons only sound right with their German voices for me.
Twofer here. I'm sure these are both actually more popular than I think, but I don't see them posted and people always look at me funny when I mention them.

I remember that show and some of my friends do too. But i have more memories of that one noir show with the shark detectives.

>Darth Vader and the Simpsons only sound right with their German
Shit happens
>>84370835
Glad I wasn't the only one who felt that way. Wayyy too european (not that there's anything wrong with that per se).
>>84393439
>that one noir show with the shark detectives.
Huh, I wonder how I missed that one.

Stop animation would've been cool for BotLN, actually. The story and design was all really good, but the puppets made it annoyingly stiff at times.

Skunk Fu
I've literally only heard this discussed in a conversation once in real life.
Time hasn't served this cartoon well.

Lol, this show was hated all over social media back then.
Interesting fact is the creator worked in an art collective called Paper Rad. I've previously seen the Paper Rad's work in a video art compilation. The video featured was called "Welcome to my Homepage (2003)," which can be seen on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJoP4MkTnwQ
By viewing the Paper Rad's site and videos, you can definitely see how The Problem Solverz's art style was developed and inspired.

I liked it somehow.

The premise for this was there'd be 108 different heroes and they only focused in these assholes,
i was quite dissapointed.
