Goddamn you people have no idea how much I loved Homestuck. I stayed up until 4 in the morning waiting for updates, I cosplayed on two seperate occasions, I've even got a fucking Homestuck tattoo.

I might have been deluding myself as Act 6 went on, but I always believed that Hussie was building to something great. Something that would blow the finale of Problem Sleuth out of the water. Once Caliborn showed up I knew everything was lost.

I still have no idea what the purpose of his story arc was. Was it to make fun of tumblr? Bitcoin? The Fans? What boggles my mind the most is how Hussie took LORD MOTHERFUCKING ENGLISH, one of the most intimidating, mysterious and ruthless villains in history and turned him into a whiny teenager. He should have remained mysterious all the way up until the end. Would it really have been so bad to just see the kids using their powers together to defeat the Big Bad and just get a no strings attatched happy ending?

Nothing Hussie ever does will make up for what he did to old LE. Years and years of devotion and love for an intensely fascinating and unique comic down the drain.

So then what the fuck was his purpose? To make two new endgame characters that had no foreshadowing beforehand and whose only purpose was to fight at the end? Why bother investing so much time into Caliborn and Calliope when there are hundreds of characters with potential hidden depths?

I actually really liked how they worked it with Jack English, Spades and so on. All four of them could have made for a kickass final battle on their own.

I feel like Homestuck and Hussie are intertwined like Sonichu and Chris-chan are, where you really need to know a lot of things the author has done outside the comic to understand everything. Not that I'm saying Hussie's life is a complete trainwreck, but you won't get everything unless you know a lot about Hussie. Like why a portrait of a horse attacking a football player keeps showing up, or how Gamzee is based on Whistles, or that whole section about Wizardy Herbert. Simply put, Hussie rips himself off a lot, and I see Homestuck being the culmination of his entire life's work. That's why I think things like Paradox Space didn't really work out or feel right. There's only one man who could have possibly made Homestuck, and that was Hussie. Him trying to reduce his role in the franchise simply baffles me.

I think Hussie tried to give Bec Noir some sort of redemption, like he started to regret his actions during the three year trip. I think that's what that section where Jack travels through the dreambubbles and sees everything he destroyed was supposed to be at least.
