Also, I mentioned this before, but 2004 (year where he became a nudist and stopped wearing cool clothes) was the year where the "x-treme" early 00s culture ended and everything became super duper gay and emo.

This character losing his cool clothes, is a metaphor for the 00s losing their cool at the halfway point.
