I read the old Spider-Man comics recently and Gwen was so fucking boring.

MJ was interesting. She seemed like the vapid hot girl but in reality was a tomboy from a broken home who had a hard life and acted carefree because she didn’t want to get hurt again. She is hot headed, brash, charming and goofy and she liked unlady like things like football and wrestling and other shit a nerdy guy like Peter doesn’t care for or things a hot woman would normally take no interest.

But that's also what made Peter attracted to her, MJ was a beautiful person like him who attracted men like Peter did women but like him was also a weirdo who in their youth was shat on by everyone (except whereas Peter came from a loving home, MJ didn’t and because of that she had to learn to fight for herself and be more selfish).

MJ is also the most developed Spidey love interest and after her its Felicia, Gwen remains the most plain and for some strange reason she gets given the status of best one by people with nostalgia goggles or people who just meme that shit without having read anything but Spider-Gwen.

But what is the personality of Gwen Stacy? She is this raging angry woman who gets offended and turn on when Peter doesn’t notice her and dismisses her, then she becomes this party girl who has no care in the world (much akin to MJ's fake persona), then ends up being this sobbing soap opera mess who does nothing but cry about every little thing like in >>84106295 and most of her scenes were mushy crying shit and Peter feelimg guilty about not telling her that he was Spider-Man.

Gwen just has no memorable personality, compare the character in the comics, to how she is in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon, to the Sam Raimi movies, to the ASM movies, and in Spider-Gwen. All versions of Gwen have different personality traits and ambitions and aside from the name and haircolor are total different people in each version of the character.
