What's next for them, /co/?
Fun, platonic buddy cop adventures.
A new apartment for Judy, hopefully
>>84058091
Minor characters in someone else's story. Takes place in the palm tree hotel and casino.
>>84058340
With Clawhauser as her roommate. I like the concept of small mammals using larger mammals unused rooms as their entire unit, like how Nick's whole apartment was just Barry's attic.
I hope for a movie in the same world but with different main characters, judy and nick making a cameo in that story.
If they get married in the sequel, will Byron use it as an analogy for gay marriage?
>>84058406
Probably. Wouldn't that really piss of middle America though?
>>84058406
It wouldn't make scene as an analogy.
>>84058459
In a way I feel it would. Preds and prey in romantic relationships could be seen as wrong, just like homosexuality is seen as wrong. The message could be something along the lines of "It doesn't matter who you are as long as you love each other."
Not that I want the analogy to happen, I'm just thinking it unfortunately seems pretty likely.
>>84058406
He'd probably want to do that, but I'm thinking Rich Moore, being the more balanced storyteller, would rein in that desire. The movie first has to sell itself with a good plot and an advancement of the two as characters--not just their relationship.

Almost finished with my brake job.
(You're all aware somebody made a thread condemning these threads, right?)
>>84058647
Yeah, but who cares. It's probably that Frozenfag who spammed the threads with Elsa a few weeks back.
>>84058647
Yeah, but like it was said there, there is no rush to ban zootopia discussions, they will stop appearing by their own. And that will be ok.
>>84058647
>(You're all aware somebody made a thread condemning these threads, right?)
And?
>>84058698
I'm genuinely going to miss the people in these threads.
>>84058406
Interracial marriage you hick, some communities still shun it.
>>84058091
More bunnies.
As this is a buddy-cop type movie like Lethal Weapon, perhaps involve Jaguar (pronounced "hog-u-are" apparently) as the bookkeeper who has to help, just like that little jewish guy with the nasal voice in LW2.
>>84058724
I'm not planning on making another Zootopia thread on /wsg/, so after that one dies and these threads die, that's it for me; I'll just use what I have for reactions.
>>84058674
Your image was missing a Judy somewhere.
>>84058770
Harrowing thoughts
So, will the next flick be more noir than the last? I'd really like to see Zootopia's version of Sam Spade.
>>84058770
I mean, I didn't realize I was near the end of the novelty train, when I downloaded the movie, the other week.
I figured since it got released on Bluray this month, it would still gain popularity for the remainder of the year.
>>84058814
I 'only' started coming here in April and to be honest the postrate has remained pretty constant, although we did enjoy the Blu-ray boost. I, uh, feel like I'm way too emotionally invested in these threads. Thank fuck Brexit happened and brit/pol/ is going to be back for a while.
>>84058724
Who sez we're going anywhere? :^)
There will always be Z threads and they will always be comfy, just at a nice sustainable pace.
>>84058724
The world is big anon, there will always be lot of fun stuff to do and people to know. Heads up!
>>84058814
The craze is mostly over, but the threads are still going strong.
>>84058888
Those quads better be infectious...
Anyway, I'm sure that there's people who think this now, but perhaps they won't in a month's time. I do hope that I'm not one of the last ones here. Will be incredibly depressing.

I think shipping them would be cute, but remaining platonic seems more realistic.
>>84058935
I think we'll be around for a while longer, both here and on trash the threads seem to have a healthy number of posters.
And since I spend almost all of my free time hanging out in these threads, I'd be pretty sad if they just died all of a sudden.
>>84059253
Of course. There's gotta be a murder to kick-start the plot, after all.
>>84058220
Literally impossible. It's literally impossible for an attractive young man and woman to spend a long time together and for romance to never come up.

Just discovering what the world really is like, when you're a young adult; you have these ideas in what it'll bring you, but it turns out to be worse than you expected.
I'm 27 (well... In a month actually), now, so I'm just now accepting this truth (been in denial for 5 years), now, and it has allowed me to grow up and be more responsible.
>>84059572
I guess its similar for me, i just moved to a big city for a new job so maybe thats why I like the movie.
>>84059693
Apparently age didn't teach you how to punctuate. Maybe If you'd payed even a little bit of attention in school, you wouldn't hate your life now.
>>84058091
Calling it: the next film is going to begin with a high-speed car chase.
>>84059821
no it begins with a wedding and ends with a wedding my headcanon already confirmed this.
>>84059370
Nick is gay though
>>84059871
Right. A wedding-turned-high-speed car chase. Those are the best kinds of weddings.
>>84059693
That's fair enough. I've been a bit of a miserable git outside of 4chan for a while now and stopped 'dreaming' years back. I just prefer to be alone to be honest. I know that you can't go through life like that and I don't, but I really despise company in real life.

They make at least $40k/year.
I'm making around $30k.
Does Disney usually attend Comic Con? I know they have their own expo now, but if they're at comic con they might announce something there.
>>84060352
It's rather early for them to announce anything, admittedly the directors are already sort of planning out possible ideas to sell for the sequel, but no official confirmation or anything yet, and given they completely shifted the story pretty late into the first one's production I doubt they want to promise anything solid just yet.
>>84058091
I'm so glad they changed this story from the original idea. Reading about the original plot leaves a weird weight in my stomach for some reason.

I wasn't, and was pleasantly surprised at her presence, even if the reveal was a bit clunky. Subsequent viewings actually made me appreciate all the little details and coincidences surrounding her conspiracy. Even if it's becoming a "thing" for Disney to have the villain be the character you least expect, I still like the fact that, in this case, the wolf really did wear sheep's clothing.

>>84064063
I thought it was kind of subtle. It was something in retrospect I realized she probably did personally, with how the previous mayor also sort of micromanaged the ZPD.
>>84064268
>the previous mayor also sort of micromanaged the ZPD.
Nah, that was Bellwether as well. She led Judy onto the case, knowing that if Lionhart's whole operation at the asylum were to be exposed, she could only benefit.
>>84064063
It wasn't the same boiler, was it? Wouldn't one be in City Hall and the other be in police HQ?
>>84064063
So Clawhauser got moved to Bellwether's old room?
>>84064397
Different buildings
>>84064450
For some reason it seemed to me that the police HQ and mayor's office were in the same building
>>84064385
There's still things like the mammal inclusion initiative forcing Bogo to hire someone he doesn't want. There is a chance that it was Bellwether who was behind that too and she specifically wanted a bunny because a little guy would most likely be on her side and rabbits from The Burrows are probably known to be racist. She wanted her to stir things up with racist accusations when she was put on the case.
>>84064602
I honestly think that was one of the more ham-fisted bits of the film. Like, Nick just makes one scary little face and she's leaping into the full preventative pose and everything. It really feels like some setup was missing from the final cut, or like the scene was originally a lot louder and they never really changed the characters' actions to match.
>>84064656
Judy and Bogo walked by Clawhauser as he was packing up to exit the building to go to the mayor.
They're right next to each other, along with the museum. It's all walking distance.
>>84064709
I always forget how amazing the graphics are in this movie. It truly is something else
>>84064709
>>84064688
He was coming at her like Gideon came at her. She didn't get a PTSD flashback visual because Nick shouldn't even had had one. THAT was a hamfisted moment in the film.
>>84064688
The scene is too subtle for you?
>>84058807
I want them to have proper weapons. Tazers and tranquilizers were clearly in the works and in the concept art.
Make it a little bit grittier. Be political about it. "Proactive policing" versus "community policing." Maybe the ZPD starts adopting more aggressive tactics. Judy can start questioning the ZPD's methods, have a crisis about her career choice. Nick could have more ambiguous, questionable methods to solve cases.
>>84064680
>There is a chance that it was Bellwether
I'm sure her presence had something to do with it, but to say that she orchestrated Judy's acceptance into the force, her posting in the city's heart, etc., from the very beginning is giving her too much credit. At most, she saw an opportunity to throw some fuel on the fire and usurp Lionhart's position and decided to take it. Her plan proceeds either way; if Judy fails, the problem of predators going savage will still become too big to conceal, and Lionhart, as he says, will be ruined. If she succeeds, then Bellwether's plans get accelerated, and they do.

>>84064840
It's more the fact that he barely moves and yet she has this overblown reaction. Like, if it had been real-life humans acting out that scene, it would have been called over-acting on Judy's part. Hell, just have Nick physically closer to Judy during the scene and it'd add a claustrophobic edge to the dialogue--if he'd taken a step closer to her during his little tirade, that's all you'd need.

It was so obvious that even without spoilers you can figure it out unless you're retarded.
>>84062301
Specially that, they even make Nick show he still has those blueberries moments before it to make it painfully obvious.
If anything, I was hoping that like that she wasn't the villian because I enjoyed her nice persona a lot more. Like Hans in Frozen, it's obvious they are setting him up for a nasty surprise but he's such a swell guy during most of the movie that I hoped he would stay like that instead of the "villian all along" bullshit. Is it too much to ask for a genuine super nice and competent person these days?

>TL:DR woman gets her firefighter diploma despite being tiny and weak
and realize that it's not always true. Or at the least there's a caveat: just because you *can* do something doesn't mean you *should*. The sloths in the DMV were a perfect example, but they were merely comic relief. And to be fair, it would've probably distracted from their main positive message if they built on the sloth problem more. Still, overall I think kids could get mentally screwed up if they really take this film to heart.

She still only knew him for a day and half Judy has had a history with foxes before, and her species has a history with all predators and large animals, but foxes for sure.
Nick is a criminal and his species/race is known to be sneaky criminals...sterotypes exist for a reason and that morning they discovered predators/minorities were suddenly and randomly becoming crazy and attacking people.
While personality I thought it would be more apt for predators being the top 10% being white people and prey being the hordes of firiegners, for this movie, they made the orey animals white folks and predators blacks and mexicans.

Why does everyone interpret it like this? It's fucking stupid. Predators represent whites in the USA as they are powerful but outnumbered and are treated like shit in the media these days for the stuff they used to do to "prey".

But I would really rather Zoop didn't say "what social justice issue can we tackle next in the sequel?" It worked as an organic issue in the film - what kind of prejudice arises out of a multi species society? But otherwise it was just a damn good story with loveable characters. If the sequel goes all morality play with the social justice issues it'll be a complete waste.

>>84072326
Get over it man.
I'm really confused
so i've seen this movie three times in the US, but recently i watched the film on a plane trip from Germany
first, the movie was called Zoomania. I thought it was strange since all of the other movies available had their original titles. But what fucked my tits was when the word Zootropolis appeared in film. Like, fully 3-D modeled signs, billboards, and letters that spell out Zootropolis.
What was even stranger was that the original voice actors said "Zootropolis", like they had recorded it for the original release or something.
ALSO, the voice actors would say "Zootropolis" but the character models would clearly say "Zootopia"
>>84072301
>watering hole
Sounds plausible to me.
I didn't notice the rocks, though. Good spot.
>>84063107
I can't get with the animation style, but Piemations always has excellent comedic timing
>>84072399
Preds wear feathers while prey wear hide. The fuck?
>>84072389
On a Emirates flight (which was Zootropolis), the synopsis gave Judy's name as Judy Hopper. Better than Hopps tbfh
Stu is depicted as a traditional North American small family farmer (a class which is dying out due to market forces and the faggotry of the millennial generation), but in reality, his operation is more like current large scale US corporate industrial farmer, with his children replacing the seasonal Mexican fruit pickers
>>84072321
Yeah, it'd need to be a decent distance away for that to work.
I just watched that extra scene again. Anyone notice that they used the name of the station in that scene as the station the Night Howler lab was hidden in? I assume they just used the same street sign asset from the unused scene and dirtied it up a little.
Someone in a previous thread also pointed out that Judy gazing sadly into her microwave (which she keeps where, exactly?) was also taken from that scene, since she's wearing her meter maid outfit before and after that cut but not during.
>>84072410
Prey with spears. Not to say that intelligent lions wouldn't still be better at hunting, but also not to say that traditionally herbivorous animals won't eat meat when given the opportunity.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkQ7o-gWWng
>>84068564
>>84068713
As long as this is established through a workout scene with shamelessly fanservicey shots of them showing off their physiques and admiring each other's, I'm fine with this.
So were there any mixed species relationships shown in the background of the movie?
I'd get a kick out of this notion that citizens in Zootopia are all for integrating predators and prey but the idea of mixed species relations is 100x more abominable than what we used to think of black/white interracial couples.
Which Nedroid comic fits the bun and fox best?
>>84072501
If you think about it logically, the herbivores in Zootopia had to have eaten meat at some point in their evolution. They wouldn't have evolved larger brains otherwise.
>>84072471
>nowhere to put the microwave in her apartment
Antagonist plan was to consolidate power by literally sparking essentially a race war with prey having all the societal authority.
I was pretty impressed with the bad guy for Zootopia.
javascript:quote('84072389
PolishBro here, its all thanks to that Dutch Zoo, they had to rename the movie for Europe, We got Zwierzogrod because it sounds familiar , Germany got Zoomania because it sounds familiar to them too(Germania), but it does kinda affects the message of the movie in a way, Judy doesn't enter a random city, just a city that pretends to be an utopia
sad but true
>>84072537
France gave no fucks and called it Zootopia.
>>84072509
I don't think you can do 100x worse than lynchings.
Gazelle is clearly at least teasing the idea of an interspecies relationship by dancing with all those ultrabuff tigers.
Word of god says that they'll go with science to answer the question of whether Nick and Judy could have kids (i.e. NOPE), and the film is more about prejudice in general than specifically racial prejudice, so any official story that dealt with that subject matter would come across more as an allegory for homophobia than racism.
>>84072518
Or some other source for highly nutritious meals that require coordination between a large group to acquire. The second point is probably as important as the first; grass could be pure sugar and you still wouldn't see grazers develop intelligence because intelligence is only an advantage on the animal level when it comes to coordinating in a large group, which is not required when your food is easy to find and doesn't move.

The power of fanart.
>>84074310
Not too much. It's just right.
>>84074318
Whatever...
>>84074328
That's pretty much all the bun booty I have anyway. I don't have a whole lot of art stuff saved.
>>84074350
I always imagine Judy as much larger than this
>>84066043
That's how it goes. In this case Nick is lucky though that Fennick is legitimately looking out for him and didn't sell him out.
>>84074368
She's only like 3 feet tall, if we're going by Nick's canon height.
>>84074386
I know, my headcannon is that she's just below the average female height
>>84074401
Uh, that would be headcanon*
>>84074040
>>84074048
Don't tell me what to do.
>>84074188
Sorry for failing you, senpai.
>>84074421
You've failed me twice, you monster
How old are nick and judy supposed to be?
>>84074483
Judy's 24, based on her saying that she was 9 when Gideon Grey attacked her and the "15 years later" title when she went to Police Academy. Maybe 25, depending on how long she was training.
Nick is 32 based on him saying he's been hustling "since I was twelve" and Judy assuming he'd been at it for 20 years. She was holding his file at the time, so it's probably an accurate estimate.
>>84074483
32 and 24 respectively.
>>84072010
That's hilarious
>>84074522
>>84074525
wow, that's quite an age gap, I thought they were the same age, though nick does look a bit older.
>>84072183
While Judy has many masculine characteristics, it is more likely that the sheep is trans.

The main significant reason why I like Zootopia - main characters are close to my age.

Perfect. I like the idea of Bogo not giving a single fuck about them having a relationship too.

Spy Nick. I crave spy nick.

The movie officially goes with the idea that predators are the violent minorities and a white upper class politician sheep woman would not normally tolerate being near a dirty fox (dirty mexican).
>>84073879
dont you mean ”proclaim death to all ewes„?
>>84072326
Nick should be Bandit or Glaz.
>>84076155
He feels like a Bandit,I might draw this.

Ha, O just imagined a Rick and Morty workout montage withRick and Summer getting massive gains while DMX's "gonna give it to ya" plays in the background.
Later a shaved head white sheep man with a black nazi shirt and red suspenders gets the shit kicked out of em' by insanely buff and roided out Nick and Judy then cut to a weasel stealing an ice cream from Finnick, Finnick is about to bust his ass, but Nick and Judy rush in and beat him up, then cut to a camel in front of a charch with a sign saying Hod hates fags, and then Nick and Judy beat him up.
...I don't know how to handle the scene with the guy being mean to his dog...what kind of pets would Zootopian animals have, bugs?
>inb4 naked human on all fours being pulled along by a puma...
>>84072609
A white male rabbit and black female otter tied up on a stage in a very bioshock 2 manner and the crowd of other rabbits encouraged to throw beets at them.
