Because someone asked about Eric Schwartz in the last thread:
>>84038765
>Eric Schwartz
He has a web comic (Sabrina Online), presence on various furry art sites such as FA and E621, and is or was the main artist at the Fur After Dark porn site. He presumably has a Tumblr and so on but I normally see his stuff on FA and E621 since I'm behind the times.
If Zootopia is so great, how come its big theme song is about a fat guy at an all you eat buffet?
>I won't give up, no I won't give in
>'Til I reach the end and then I'll start again
>No, I won't leave, I wanna try everything

Well Judy Hopps fucked up when she didn't realize she has bias even if she is an optimist idealist about the idea of Preys and Predators living together in peace. And the song was actually made to better trap Judy, and by extension the audience, into Zootopia as an utopia.
>>84040160

Night, anon. Always a pleasure.
So, I'm genuinely pretty happy with how this has turned out. I need to go over it in Paint (I really should use something better, but whatever) and manually change the colour of a few of the obviously incorrect pixels. Also, the DOF effect hasn't quite worked out perfectly and has been applied to Judy's ears slightly. I think that I can get a better smile, but compared to my last attempt at a facial expression I'm really happy with this one.
Took surprisingly long to render. Got used to a really simple setup and having things render really quick. Lucky that I explicitly don't want to render this at a high resolution so it's not too big of a problem this time.
I got a semi-ban for 15 minutes. Should I keep trying to post the comics?

>>84044478
I think they're talking about she'll get married, one day, not that she is.
>>84044478
It's more like he's lonely now that she's gone away to the big city, and the carrots remind him of her growing up, so he's crying as if he's giving the grown carrot away in marriage.

They're terminally suicidal. Poor little fuckers have an instinct to seek out shaded areas out of sunlight, to avoid birds of prey as such.
Unfortunately the only shaded areas that can be found on a highway are moving at 55 miles per hour.
So the dumb bastards literally run right under the tires that crush them. Seen it happen once, horrifying shit.

I once ran over a rabbit's leg when it ran in front of me; I had to go back the way I came, since it was in a subdivision, it was hoping 10 feet in the air.
If you ever end up running over the rabbit, hope you crush it's skull; their screams are horrifying, otherwise.
>>84044738
Naw, "horrifying shit" is the scream they emit when being killed by a predator. One of the very few sounds that make my skin crawl. Not THE worst mind you...
Alright, it's time for me to go to work, I'm actually leaving later than usual, but I'm not worried about it, since I'll finish about the same time as usual. I'll check this thread every once in a while.
Glad I have the day off from my day job, today.

>>84039629
They can be potty trained and house trained, but it takes effort and best to start them young.
Rabbitsbunnies are different than gares hares and jack rabbits are nasty while bunnies are like cats and constantly groom themselves.
Rabbits are considered exotic pets now because so few people know how to take care of them.
Their diet should be grass hey dry fruits and veggies as treats.
They are pack animals so they like having company, even if you don't directly play with them, they like knowing you are around, so often times I lay in the pen and read a book, while bun just chills out.
While they do have instincts to avoid predators and their ears changing directions and foot thumping make great alarm systems, they are naturally curious and like to explore so it's best to have them penned in near their cage instead of free roam. I keeps mine outside on a covered patio that has double shade from a tree and an onning.
Only real danger is heat so I bring em inside the house if it gets 90 plus.
Fleas need special meds if it happens.
Unless you want lots of babies, best to get them neutered.
They like to nibble so keep them away from powercords as they think it's tree or plant roots.
Use a box gilled with wood shavings as a litter box.
Trim nails as needed and pet or stroke them often.

Even with noguns an animal could kill others with a sharp or blunt item if they even needed a weapon. Imagine if someone went rogue and started stomping on hordes of victims in the rodent town.
>>84049839
Funnily enough, I do
Got the key poses done, and I set it up so that the animation can loop when it's finished. If anyone's wondering, I animate loose things like hair (ears), tails, and body accessories (her equipment) last since those react directly to the way the body moves. The ears are, of course, half independent of the head movements, which as also half independent from the neck/torso movements, but I've been told numerous times that it's not an issue to do those last as well, and based on a different hair-based animation I did a while back, it makes sense to wait on those until the body is completely done. It's just easier to manage in the end.
Will now move on to the tweening part, which are the poses in the middle of these poses.
>>84050098
great stuff, apart from how you're obtaining a new skill I find it really inspiring to see someone doing an effort to learn something new every day.
By the way, there is a little something I found the other day - not sure how useful it will be for you, but hopefully it will come in handy
http://www.iamag.co/features/trent-correy-zootopia-animation-reel/
>>84050098
for anyone vaguely interested, this is what all of the animated keyframes look like for the blocking stage. Add on another 15-ish for things I'll deal with last. It's daunting
>>84050158
I love watching 3D animation "making of" kind of stuff. Haven't seen this one yet. Thanks. I remember a fantastic one from Ice Age the meltdown with the little squirrel dance scene over the nut. It took the guy a month to do the whole 12 second sequence. It was amazing to watch since he showed day by day video progress for it.
>>84049961
Zootopia is about animals that act like humans. They should, theoretically, have a similar predisposition towards violence.
Like it's mentioned over and over again, it's not a perfect society. I'm sure they've seen their share of serial killers and rapists. It's rare, but it does happen. They do all they can, but there's bound to be at least one person who "goes against the herd" and starts doing horrible things. Bellwhether could arguably be considered a testament to this. Even if she wasn't actively doing it, she was going to stay and watch Judy get eviscerated by Nick. If she can make someone under her control maul someone else ala Charles Manson, then there's bound to be other animals like that, though many would be more active I suppose. If a human can get off to torturing small animals, then a larger anthro animal can get off to torturing one.
>>84049941
What are you guys talking about?
>>84050273
>Zootopia is about animals that act like humans
sorry, but no
While we're on animation, did the animators for Zootopia have to manually move the characters' mouths for speech or would there have been some fancy mo-cap solution in place? Former seems like something out of a nightmare.
>>84050274
Never you mind. There's not enough dream bun to go around.
>>84050323
Depends on the intentions set for the rigger (guy who makes the character usable for the animator). They create facial expressions to match those of certain vowel sounds so that when a word is said, they can make the speech a lot easier. Mo-cap would be very difficult to do for characters that need extreme expressions, like a small rabbit or a fox with a long face. Often times they do have to animate it piece by piece, but the vowel "presets" make it easier so that common words don't need to be reanimated over and over. It simply gives a starting point for the animators. It had a term, but it's slipping my mind. For really extreme emotions like yelling and such, they may end up having to do it all from scratch, but the "presets" do help quite a bit.
>>84050388
That doesn't sound as bad... Still sounds like a punishment, mind you.
>>84042461
These are some highlevel suits. Is there more?
>>84050451

we'll never see them again though, real shame.
>>84050487
Maybe in a few years
>>84050448
>punishment
Yeah, it would take a while to do, but that's animation. It's not a career for the impatient since animators often spend multiple weeks on scenes. That's so that they can get each and every scene -just- right.
It's all worth it in the end when it's rendered though. There's seriously nothing better than bringing a non-living character to life.

Bellwether had spies. You see them periodically through the movie. Look to the right of the screen as Judy tosses her ticket machine onto the floorboards and climbs into her cart. 2 of them assholes are standing there pretending to talk as the look over at her. Hmm.. and is it a coincidence that a moment later greaseball Duke is robbing the flower store right there? I think not.
"i hope you didn't stake your carrier on cracking this one"
what an asshole.
>>84052729
I figure she arrives regularly to tell the Chief that "the mayor" wants this case cracked. Probably her plan didn't originally involve getting Lionheart arrested, but once he started covering up the savage predators she adapted by pressuring the police to get him caught.
You could probably write something interesting about the interplay between the two of them from a "I think he knows but he thinks I don't know" sort of angle.

>>84054269
ugh shes so sexy
>>84054269
What time is it where you are?
>weselton's bootlegs
if maximus is rapunzel, who's maximus then?
>>84054360
Almost 4.
I live in Atlanta.
>>84040885
It's a really shitty song.
>>84054423
Yeah, I figured that out pretty quickly. Rap (is it even rap?) is shite though anyway tbqh so I was always going to hate it.
>>84054453
It's hip hop.
My old boss would always sing his songs and it was very annoying. I glad he got promoted and left.
>>84054480
What sort of stuff are you in to then?
>train scene
>final hustle
i think i'm done commenting.
>>84054568
It was riveting, don't worry
>>84054494
I find some hip hop to be fine, but Drake is really shitty.
I usually listen to a variety of rock and electronic; anything electro or industrial are right up my alley, 90s pop makes me nostalgic for my childhood, and alternative and hard rock makes me nostalgic for my years in high school.
>a few sheep police officers are visible in several shots, observing Judy when everyone else is going about their business
>a pair of sheep are waiting outside the florist's for Weaselton's delivery
>a sheep is the one who asks "So only predators are going savage?"
I've been watching the film over again, and I'm amazed at how many sheep sleeper agents (sheeper agents?) there are. It's a goddamn conspiracy of detail by the filmmakers.
>>84054679
she had it right the first time
>>84054679
It's amazing what you'll find when you stop focusing on the main characters and focus on what's going on around them.
>>84054608
Ah, fair enough. Don't really listen to much modern stuff myself and usually stick to blues and dadrock. Have a guilty pleasure for Monstercat stuff though, don't know how that happened but whatever.
I can remember a few songs I used to really like when I was young, but I can't stand them now. Never liked hard rock.
I think I'll work on the Tax Evasion scene; I've done a webm of it, but no gifs.
>>84054679
>>84054726
eyup, godamn so many puzzle pieces fit snuggly to make great picture.
>work just called me
>manager thought I was supposed to work today
>remind her I got two days off this week and today's my second day off
>"God damn it! Bye!"
Guess they're getting busy.
>>84054861
They've just added a note next your name, anon
>>84054726
Agreed. So many reaction shots and incidental details.
>>84054913
They actually rely on me too much since I live so close and I'm able to do my job effectively; they've realized this, before, so they're fine if I don't want to come in on my days off.
Oh, shit, I just realized I could use the videos saved for webms for gifs.
>Nick's police application
>he marked "Yes" on the last box on reflex, hastily tried to scratch it out
>>84055101
I wonder if employers see that as a problem.
>>84055101
he was so excited to join such a noble proffesion he forgot he still needs to lie a little.
...and then judy fucked it up.
>>84055061
It bothered me she didn't have a real flashlight.
>>84055182
>wasn't even in the system
>joke mobile
>relying on a sly fox
she didn't have a lot of things
>>84040885
>Black American
Drake is Canadian, you dip.
>ITT: it's year 2022
WHAT WENT WRONG?!
>>84054361
Maximus is a cross dresser.
>>84055293
I know absolutely nothing about modern music
>>84055307
nothing, it's a superb masterpiece which breaks all box office records in nearly every conceivable category, motivates even more people to improve their lives and change for the better as well as paving the way for a long-running and high quality successful franchise
even twitter looks empty.
>>84055307
They didn't make a reference to Hot Fuzz in the sequel.
Brexit celebrations are postponed indefinitely.Need to turn that off...
>>84055493
>mfw brexit is succesful
>>84055204
>hat
>cart
>vest
Why wouldn't they have a bunny sized flashlight gathering dust too? Hell this could've made Judy rely on Nick's night vision and build trust between them when it turns out the batteries were dead.
>>84055478
Oh man, they really need to reference Hot Fuzz again in the sequel.
>>84055525
>filter image MD5
Have mercy
>>84039592
So if predators suddenly decided to eat prey would the restaurant that sells rabbits be called Bun on a Bun?
>>84055665
bunnies for loonies
New thread when?
I'm trimming some of my gifs I've made for better reactions.
>>84056056

>>84055532
When did they reference Hot Fuzz? Aside from the obvious piece of hot fuzz, of course.
>>84056065
