I think if you showed a person in 20 years both shows and they had absolutely no knowledge of/nostalgia for them whatsoever, they'd probably enjoy classic Spongebob more. Classic Simpsons is better, but its tied to a particular cultural context.

Season 10 lacked emotional episodes, but it was probably the single funniest season ever.

classic simpsons is a contender for all time greatest tv show
