Jack Noir for sure. Of the three main antagonists (Jack, LE, HIC) Jack was the most influential and direct threat to the group. He was the most personally involved villain, and the one people got most invested in. Lord English was fine, but his threat was too nebulous and disconnected from the main plot, it was kind of hard to care about him at all. And HIC came in too late, was the pawn of another character, and hid behind too many other characters.

I think that, honestly, one of the biggest mistakes that Hussie made was dropping Jack as the main antagonist. In fact, Jack pretty much stopped mattering after Cascade, which is weird for someone who killed an entire universe.

Nah, in terms of deaths, Kanaya coming back to life was Hussie's biggest mistake. It basically meant that any important character was pretty much guaranteed to come back, and death stopped having meaning.
Hell, you can see this in the ending. All the humans survive, and all the important trolls aside from maybe Vriska are still alive as well.

I actually really liked Grimdark Rose, it felt like the natural conclusion to her character arc. It just ended up resulting in nothing, just like pretty much everything that happened pre-Act 6.
That's probably one of the biggest issues with Homestuck. Act 1-5 and Act 6-7 feel like completely different stories, and don't mesh very well at all.

Murderstuck would have been fine if it wasn't just a plot device to get rid of the minor trolls, and Mom/Dad's death fit with the core themes of the story (which Act 6-7 end up shitting all over anyway.)

Cascade wasn't the first flash where an outsourced artstyle clashed with the rest of the scene and ended up looking out of place, but it was probably the biggest and most major offender of that shit. Nah. Just rewatched it, and all the characters still have that simplistic Homestuck look to them, and they all mesh well together. There was one background that didn't look very good, but overall it wasn't really that noticeable

Now compare that to pretty much all of Cascade. There were too many contributors, too many different styles clashing with each other. In some scenes, we're even treated to different characters on screen at the same time with completely different art styles.

Homestuck can switch styles because when it does switch, everything still looks consistent. It doesn't work when you have one thing drawn in one style, and another drawn in another style, and they're side by side.
