When Bendis did Avengers Disassembled they gave him a list of characters who were considered expendable, and he said Hawkeye was the most popular character who was on the list of killables.

Basically, he's popular with fans but never really popular with the broader public. So treating him like shit doesn't hurt sales, but makes hard-core fans mad - the perfect Bendis combination.

There was this preview art too, which I guess will be some variant cover at some point.

And there was some art with Hawkeye vs Hulk I cannot find now, but was in the same style as other in this event (like an old boxing poster).

I would be very surprised if Clin't doesn't kill or get killed by some Hulk.
