Can we drop the "Karkat is a good leader" meme?

The trolls hold each other during Hivebent without Karkat's intervention, and if and when they want to hurt or kill each other they can and do so easily.

Sollux and Eridan, Terezi's exile plans, Aradia maiming Vriska, Vriska abusing Tavros, wow look at all these people hurting each other.

And the second that they don't have an excuse to work together they kill each other over the course of a few hours.

And retcon Karkat does even less. He's Dave's boyfriend, he gives a "speech" which is really just Karkat monologe #1025, dies trying to be a hero, and then wrestled a Leprechaun whose defeat honestly was a nonissue to begin with.

If his role was to learn to be irrelevant, then it's redundant with Calliope and maybe Jade's storylines. If his destiny was to be a leader of the trolls, then god fucking help them because Karkat isn't going to be much help at all.

Blood is duty, and bonds. Two things which Karkat makes no use of in Retconned Act 6.

take for example a theoretical prince of breath and maid of breath. they can both use wind to fight, but a prince of breath is "destroying through wind", which would imply a more guiding thing using wind already there, and a maid of breath is "Creating wind" which is pretty straightforward. to an outside observer they may look the same but they are not.

it just so happens to turn out that most classes have their powers manifest in roughly-equal ways at the start.

I still don't agree with seers and mages getting combat abilities from anything but their weaponry, but that's another argument that i'm not going to start.

A seer of space can very accurately tell and relay the properties of space to others. They can tell you exact distances to the planck length, velocities down to the tiniest measurement. Wouldn't it be neat that they just become the ultimate sniper or grenadier or some shit due to their excessive knowledge of space? Not every space player needs to be able to fling things around with their mind.

i feel like yeah, that's the case for non-god tier players in that they only express the narrative and meta parts of their classpects, but once they become gods, their sphere of influence becomes a little more literal.

i mean, some mythological deities between different pantheons, or even the same pantheon, had somewhat overlapping purposes, but just happened to interact with them in specific ways

like hypnos = god of sleep, morpheus = god of dreams. maybe you only have one, and either of them could fill the same role, but they come at it from different directions

i went in sai with the binary brush set to one, zoomed in real close and when i was done saved it as a transparent png and used photoshop to make a bigger version since it has that preserve hard edges option. i had a feastings sprite next to it initially to get the scale correct though
