I almost have a heart attack when someone praises his Avengers run that lead upto Secret Wars.

Often using it as an answer to DC's version of Crisis or Multiversity or any actual thought provoking series done by DC comics. Even though Marvel do have their own share of good comics that are much better than this drab.

Its so fucking frustrating. How the hell do you get their head out of their own asses.

Yes, but when it's filler within the context of its own story it gets tedious.

And to be frank, this run would've cost monthly buyers well over a few hundred dollars, it's pretty damn insulting that even on its own terms most of this run was for nothing.

It really is. Whats annoying is thst there are genuinely good concepts there. Like years and years worth but its clear either Hickman himself or Editorial forced him to rush the fuck out of it.

Speaking off, before his avengers the only other sYep, few people grasp the power of just accepting.

There's a quote that goes something like "pain is only because we want things to be different than they are". If we accept that we really don't have control anyway things become a lot easier. Just go with the flow and accept.

You know who are true master's of this? Dogs. I just seen one the other day born without eyes, he went on to become a therapy dog.

I photographed a rescue dog the other day abused by humans then abandoned with a broken leg, he was found starving and his leg had to be cut off. He's now in a pound, and while he's afraid of people, if you show him you mean him no harm he'll be the same with you and is quite affectionate then, all because he accepts the situation he's in now. They really are incredible creatures to observe and learn from.

Completely unrelated but before this the only series I ever hated of Hickman was his SHIELD series. I mean even now this seems more tolerable than that. I fucking irrationally hate some parts of SHEILD

No, I'd say it's the textbook example of filler. As I said in the last thread, I read the firs six issues of New Avengers, about half of Time Runs Out and understood pretty much everything that was going on. That's some forty something issues I didn't read and apparently didn't have to in order to understand the story.

You got me cause I realized I read about as much as you did, maybe a little more. What I was trying to say was that even if, for example, Cap vs Kang doesn't effect Secret Wars that doesn't mean the Cap vs Kang story is necessarily bad.

Hickman is like The Flash tv show, he runs entirely on hype moments and empty promises of something epic coming, but when it delivers it falls flat. Except, just like The Flash, it promises something more epic so we get hyped again. It's a never ending cycle of misery.
