What did /co/ think to The Simpsons Movie and would you want another?
>>
It was good until they left Springfield, and no.
>>
>>83925805
>would you want another?
For the love of God no! It was a fun film but it would have been much better if it was made during the golden age of the series, back in the 90s when the characters weren't retarded arseholes.
>>
>>83925805
Never finished it. Got to Homer's epiphany then I had to do something. Didn't care much for what I saw.
>>
Oh wow the Simpsons movie is almost 10 years old.
>>
>>83925839
I dunno, I thought, although it wasn't in the golden age of The Simpsons, it's still a good film. II think maybe it's a cut off for the good times of the show.

But also, the animation was really decent. It's not fluid like the show, but still nice.
>>
>>83925907
>the animation was really decent
Oh that I totally agree. It was refreshing to see something different.
>>
>>83925875
Make you feel old, anon?

Was meh. It's really hard to judge after rewatching first 8 seasons and not to call it complete shit straight up.
>would you want another
It would be full of celebrities and become full Family guy retarded. Why would anyone want that.
>>
Closer to the earlier seasons in characterization, but sadly not in quality.
>>
After i watched it again i hated it. It's indistinguishable from later seasons episodes.
>>
>>83925805
No thanks.
>>
>>83926053
I dunno, feels nice to watch it again now.
As said, the animation is nice.
It's clear they took something from the 1080p clarity, it's a shame they make episodes really quickly nowadays and the same quality doesn't carry over.
>>
>>83925805
Honestly, it wasn't bad, but it's only worth seeing once, because the jokes get old really quickly.
>>
>>83925805
Considering that it was made after the show had gone to shit, I thought it was actually decent. Definitely could've been a lot worse than it was. You can tell they were at least trying with it.

Whether I would want another depends entirely on if they put the same amount of effort into it. If it's as good as this movie was, then sure. If it's as bad as the show is now, then hell no.

>People complimenting the animation
Well the animation should be good. We're talking about a theatrical film here. No one would want to pay to see flash animation in a theater.
>>
I can't stand at Homer after this shit, they made a great job making him an asshole.
>>
>>83926371
How?
>>
It really has no memorable or satisfying moments
>>
I loved it the first time I watched it, and the second time I watched it like 5 years later, I wasn't at all amused by it. Couldn't tell you what changed, it's not like I remembered the film or the jokes.

I guess it could have been a lot worse, it's better than the show currently is at least.
>>
Aside from the numerous times they had Homer and Marge have marriage issues, the scene with the wedding video made me sad.

I hate that gay song. Making me sad.
>>
>>83926519

He literally doomed Springfield to isolation and destruction after it cleaned up its act--and this is a town so selfish it moved 10 miles down the road rather than deal with a garbage problem--because he was too lazy to wait in line and wanted to get free doughnuts. He ruined the town and he ruined his family's lives.

Granted, he came back and saved the town, but that doesn't give you a free pass. It'd be like building a robot that tries to destroy the world, defeating the robot, and then calling yourself a hero. Only Tony Stark gets away with that shit.
>>
>>83925805
I didn't liked it , felt too much like one of the newer episodes, the spongebob movie was better and i didn't liked that one either
>>
Not gonna lie, I liked it a lot back in the day.

No. Too many safe jokes, and the fact that they cut Scorpio as the villain because they were afraid casuals wouldn't like him. Fuck test audiences to hell.

I remember like 4 years ago when I was amazed that The Simpsons Movie was 5 years ago. Now it's 9 years ago, time sure does fly.

I thought it was going to have a massive amount of hollywoo and music stars on it but all we got was,
>green day
and shit about global warming, holy fuck, such a disappointment. and not to mention the whole "Lisa was the main reason all this shit happened but she stills got away with having a happy ending because she's the animators mascot"
>>
>>83928008
to be fair it doesn't make sense for Scorpio to be Homers enemy considering Homer directly helped him conquer the east coast
>>
>>83925805
Somethings don't need to be a movie.
The Simpsons Movie solidified this.

Are there any episodes like Bart on the Road?

Fun Bart+Milhouse+Nelson+Marvin episodes?
>>
>>83928993
He did it because he was worried they'd ruin Scorpio.
>>83929391
>They still think people like Spider-Pig
I cringe every time they call back to him...granted I cringe every time I watch the show.
>>
I saw it when it came out and i liked it back in the day. Now, idk, if they make another one, it would be the shit. But if they ever make something at least a little bit close to the original good first seasons of the Simpsons, I would be happy.

3 men and a comic book, I guess. Classic episode, one of the best ever. But its only Bart, Milhouse and Martin
>>
The movie came out too late and missed them at their peak. They are even further in their decline now and I can't even imagine who'd want to see another movie.
>>
>>83929760

I would, but only if they make it in an old classy way. But it will never happen i think

There's no full image, it's just mimicking a panel that gets posted often from a CP manga.

That's a shame
>>
I thought that it was okay. I laughed and I got emotional at certain scenes so I really can't ask for anything else from a Simpsons movie.
>>
>>83925805
An abomination.

Simpsons was already unwatchable by then!

Plus 10 years too late after South park and Beavis & Butthead.

I really enjoyed it. Though I was also fairly young when it came out so it was harder for me to have as strong of an idea of "golden-age Simpsons" as some older anons.

Wouldn't want another one though. The show is beyond saving now and I can't imagine they'd be able to do a movie well.
>>
>>83934107
Sounds like something a dirty Frenchman would do
>>
It was terrible, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fox tried to leverage what remains of the show's influence to make another one.
>>
>>83925805
It was so, so. It rubbed me wrong that Bart was turned into a Flander's wannabe and that Marge left Homer and that Homer and the Family had to leave Springfield in the first place. Stuff like that is so far out of character for the golden age version that it gets boring. It's like "Where are the Simpsons? I though this was their movie. Who the fuck are these weirdo's that have snatched their bodies?"

Bart is way funnier when he has accepted his cruel father as "just a part of life" and makes mischief happen on a regular basis.

Also, can Lisa please get a little more personality? I know she's the annoying liberal type, but there's got to be a bit more of a character in there somewhere.

Still better than Zombie Simpsons.
>>
>>83937533
I forgot to add:

Sure, make another movie. Make it the blend of Mean/Wacky as hell much like the old days.

The trouble is that most of the old writers left a long time ago.

Whilst we're on the subject of The Simpsons, do any of you play Tapped Out?
The art on the loading screen for the superhero thing they have going on right now is fucking disgusting.
