Media theory fits perfectly into this. Red guy grew up, but never really escaped. It was just another set. Duck actually died, and Yellow guy is still there since he's the youngest. I mean, its early days, but putting with what else was hinted at, I almost feel this is painting an image that Yellow guy's father has created some kind of safe haven for the three of them or perhaps is making a perverse kind of tv show to brainwash people, make them look way from the bad things that have happened, will happen, and are happening. This links to the the first and third quotes. The second is obvious, this whole thing is a computer run thing. A fake programme/world. Are the three of them even real? The last, bit more of a stretch, the idea of throwing away harmful or negative things. Don't think of them, live in an easy world (thats reminiscent of childs programming).

When Red guy thinks hes out of the programme, I see it as the father making an example. This is how the real world is. Its dark and boring. It drives Red guy to re-enact the first episode, almost proving the father right and putting him back in the programme.

At the end everything resets. No ones out and it keeps going. Theres even hints this has happened over and over again with the date changing.

While the ending itself might have been meh, the actual puppetry and effects were top notch.

So, Roy, yellows dad, was in charge from the beginning. Hes in every episode except one (most likely because they thought it would be a one-off) and in episodes 4 and five hes seen briefly in areas he shouldn't be. He appears for a single, 10 second clip in four, in the corner of the room when red is trying to turn off the computer.

If I were you Id count how many times roy's name appears on the brands of food, but most notably he appears off stage in the rafters when bird knocks over the camera, literally watching over everything.

Roy kidnapped his child and his friends, in the 1950s, and has been doing this over and over again until they finally start to remember. Once that's happened, he just hits refresh and everything resets.

Here's a theory: it's a edutainment version of "A Serbian Film" in term of media.
