Everyone talks about how the DCAU is the best adaptation of the DC universe but not every version of the characters they used really hit the mark or were as good as their comic counterparts. Let's talk about the ones that didn't work.
I'll start with the obvious one.
Poison Ivy
Eat shit Harley Fags she's literally worthless and its all your fault
Take your autism back to your hugbox
>>83867556
>everyone that disagrees with me should leave to not hurt my feelings
go back to your hugbox
I dunno if this really fits but the replacement VAs they got for the Superman villains in "Hereafter" were god damned awful
>>83867600
Not until Nick retcons Legend of Korra then reboots it properly
Sinestro.
>>83867556
In what way did they get Ivy wrong? She's a seductive environmental extremist misandrist. That's pretty much what Ivy is all about.
>>83867635
>the one JLU episode where Sinestro robs a train for euros
What were they thinking?
>>83867649
>She's a seductive environmental extremist misandrist
Which according to DC means "Ivy's fucktoy"
Why does Ivy not have a parallel? It literally doesn't make sense in a continuity where a fucking multiverse exists and there isn't a version of Ivy that loves pollution the way the original Ivy loves plants
>>83867556
You love it
>>83867703
Not really. Harley is destined to be Joker's cock sock from now till the end of time
Just because you retcon a comic doesn't mean you can retcon the memory of said comic existing
Harley murdered children!
>>83867676
... What? What the hell are you talking about? What does that have to do with DCAU Ivy?
>>83867745
I'm talking about no matter how hard you try and fix Ivy with all these stupid fucking retcons and what ifs she just can't be fixed
The only way to fix her is to give her Eco-Terrorism real motivation.
>>83867722
Fair's fair. Harley also kissed Ivy in 2 ocassions
>>83867787
You're such a turbo autist holy shit
Its like the DC equivalent of Korrsami.
I didn't like how by the end of the DCAU these two seemed to switch roles. Diana was more impulsive and violent and Hawkgirl was more empathetic and understanding. It seemed to miss the mark on both characters, and ties into how the rest of modern DC likes pushing Diana as a violent battle freak.
>>83867676
>She's a seductive environmental extremist misandrist
>Which according to DC means "Ivy's fucktoy"
I think you've gotten confused.
>>83867779
... The DCAU version of the character has nothing to do with that though.
>>83867802
Hawkgirl is hotter than Wonder Woman anyway
Hawkgirl's heel turn comes out of left field...like Ward's alligence to Hydra in AoS
>>83867814
No you're being retarded is what you're.
>>83867825
Are you retarded? I straight up think I am speaking clear coherent sentences to you but you're fucking ignoring what I am writing down
are you typing with one hand?
>>83867830
They put plenty of work into setting up the Hawkgirl thing
>>83867801
I am just playing your point
You said that no matter what you do , you can't erase the memory that comic existing. You mentioned Harley murdering children I countered with Harley kissing Ivy.
I don't know why is so hard to you to follow a discussion like a normal person
>>83867851
Man did you just come in here to complain about fictional lesbians or something? You're weird.
>>83867801
Dude you are getting painfully analravaged over this.
>>83867852
You say that but they could have done more
Flashpoint does a better job at making Wonder Woman look like a heel than any of Justice League's build makes Hawkgal look like a Tweener
>>83867542
I still dont even know this guys name, or what his powers are.
We was juts kind of "there" a few times.
>>83867861
Please go take your autism back to Tumblr
>>83867867
I love Harley fags are so delusional the very idea of Ivy being anything other than Harley's fuck toy triggers them. Please KYS
>>83867868
Because all of you fucking DC faggots are fucking marks. You willingly let your company fuck you in the ass while you just shrug it off and say "This is fine."
Completely incompetent and had very few redeeming qualities.
>>83867898
>>83867898
Dude I don't even like Harley and Ivy.
>>83867917
Catwoman's cooperation with Ivy and Harley makes zero sense
Gotham City Sirens was a mistake its literally a comic made for virgins
>>83867898
Wasn't Ivy fucking Swamp Thing in like half of the nu52 books? They kept teaming up all over the place.
>>83867917
God damn you're right. What was with the "save the animals" bit anyway? She was just a total bitch by the end of things too.
>>83867925
>>83867943
Both of you faggots need to go the fuck back to Tumblr where you faggots fucking belong
Stop shitting up /co/ with your autism.
>>83867962
>I wrote it again
>Look mom!
>>83867542
literally no one
>>83867962
Man you are so butthurt right now
>>83867542
Who was this guy? Bizarro Captain Light?
>>83867981
>Shade is a complete loser who gets beat up all the time instead of a competent anti-villain who has the entire hero community's number
Nah
They fucked him up bad
>>83867980
>>83868003
>Saged
>>83867676
Ivy is Ivy's fucktoy?
>>83867945
>a comic made for virgins
>implying there are ones that aren't
>>83867851
Read back what you've typed. You more or less said: "Ivy is Ivy's fucktoy." How is that supposed to make any sense?
Here's the proof:
>>83867649
In what way did they get Ivy wrong? She's a seductive environmental extremist misandrist. That's pretty much what Ivy is all about.
And YOU replied:
>>83867676
Which according to DC means "Ivy's fucktoy"
>>83868030
Well...she can make plant clones so yes.
>>83867959
I guess. She had a part in the Rotworld arc and in N52 Birds of Prey, guess they were tryibg to find her another group besides Sirens for Ivy to fit in
>>83868043
Great. Forgot to greentext.
>>83868037
Your virginity is showing
>>83868043
Look the point being is Injustice brings a lot to the table
if an entire parallel universe exists where the bad guys are the good guys and vice versa then why does Ivy not have a doppleganger
Where is the version of Ivy who loves Deforestation and giant unfiltered factories who pollute the world with smog?
>>83868059
... What the FUCK does Injustice have to do with this topic?! Who even BROUGHT UP Injustice?!
>>83868059
Injustice ain't Earth-3, my man. Injustice it's it own thing.
>>83868080
Yes but its part of the grander part of the Multiverse which according to Owlman over an infinite amount of universes exist and all of them are created virtually to any minute detail you could probably fathom
Meaning within one of those universe is a parallel ivy?
>>83867787
That's actually an example of the AU influencing the comic.
>>83868059
>I'm not a virgin guys
>>83868112
I wish....
>>83868099
... You keep bringing up stuff that has nothing to do with the DCAU
This is stupid. You're stupid. And you're going to reply to this screaming about how I'm an autist who can't read because no one can follow your asinine non sequiturs
>>83868099
Could be. We'll never know
Now off to bed
>>83868122
please kys you contribute literally nothing to this thread
maybe Tumblr will suit your autism better
>>83868129
I am a grown man and its summer vacation of a Saturday morning
you go to bed.
>>83868135
who the hell is kys?!
he wanted to fuck a gorilla, I can't ask for any more from a character
>>83868142
>I am a grown man
Yeeaah sure
>>83868059
The Injustice version oh Earth isn't like a reverse mirror image of the main DC earth; it's just a version of DC Earth where things went bad and fell apart.
If you think Injustice was just a simplistic story where all the bad guys we know are good over there, and all the good guys we know are bad over there, then you're not familiar with the storyline of Injustice at all.
>>83868149
kys kys fall in love
>>83868149
Short version of Kill YourSelf
>>83868159
Neither is DC considering New 52 literally gives them the ability to disregard literal decades of story for DC's own convenience
stop trying to rock the bridge with your bullshit.
>>83868142
Adults don't have summer vacation, guy. They have "in-between jobs".
>>83868153
>he
DCAU has nothing to do with the current cringefest wer have today with Harley/Ivy thing.
In the DCAU Ivy was still the seductive and control-freak femme fatale, with Harley pretty much acting has her Pinky, constantly annoying her and foiling their plans.
What fucked things up were the comics, when Harley started to become more popular. When that happened writers started to write Ivy as the beta lesbian who constantly day-dreamed of finally winning Harley's heart and always being there give Harley a shoulder to cry on, thus ruining completely with Ivy original appeal.
So don't go blaming DCAU for this shit.
>>83868184
Not if you're a neet.
>>83868180
Seems like you beef is less for Ivy/DCAU and more for the comic side
>>83868204
>Fanbases are autistic
That's all you had to say. Anyone from any fandom can tell you this. Marvel has the same problem.
>>83868211
Its both actually
>>83868217
Writers were the problem here. Most notably Palmiotti and Palmer. They turned Ivy into Harley's beta orbiter.
>>83868231
Conner, my man. Palmer is the one doing Neil Gaiman
>>83868231
Course they did because DC tries to outprogress Marvel
Marvel's biggest selling point is Kamala so DC tried to one up them with this.
>>83868180
You're the one who's drooling over the place about why there isn't a Captain Pollution version of Poison Ivy. People here are just trying to explain why there isn't one, but you keep jumping from DCAU to Injustice to New 52 like a drugged-out weasel because you just refuse to admit your previous posts don't make a lick of sense.
>>83868255
Oh, yeah. Mixed the gal pals.
>>83868258
No they haven't that's not what's happened in this thread at all just a bunch of Ivy/Harley faggots shitposting their autism
>>83868257
>Course they did because DC tries to outprogress Marvel
I doubt it has anything to do with this.
I mean, they were pretty flirty in the cartoons, but the cartoons still made a point to remind us that the alpha dog was Harley, who still used both men and women to advance her plans and gains.
I've nothing against Ivy and Harley fucking, i just find that Ivy acting as the submissive and supporting beta orbiter clashes with her femme fatale appeal.
>>83868270
The only one posting Harley/Ivy was me, the others were tryin to make sense of your bullshit
>>83868289
>but the cartoons still made a point to remind us that the alpha dog was IVY
Sorry for the mix up. I wanted to say that the alpha dog was Ivy.
>>83868289
I just feel like if you wanted to les up Ivy...why Harley? Doesn't it send the wrong message how the only thing you find actually attractive is a damaged cock sock who murdered children and has Stockholm syndrome?
>>83868313
If I had to guess it's because the pairing was created in tbe cartoon where Harley didn't any of that (until the Drake shit) and Ivy was playing the Feminist side and saw in Harley a woman who needed to stand up for herself
>>83868300
You've been reading the thread wrong if that your interpretation of what has been happening.
>>83868342
Yes but if you needed a lesbo to match Ivy's affections Harley isn't the one to use
Harley's end game is to just find acceptance towards people who love her and the longest time it was the joker
Ivy only loves her plants above everything else
>>83868313
In the comics worked because Poison Ivy felt bad about how the Joker used and abused Harley, while her herself wanted to use and control Harley as well. Harley being a dumb blonde would constantly piss her off, though, and place them in trouble.
It was a messed up and funny pairing.
In the comics, though, i have no idea what the fuck is the appeal. Harley's totally independent and sure of herself, Poison Ivy's pretty much Harley's assistant and on-and-off lover, who's always there hoping that Harley will finally settle with her despite Harley constantly chasing after guys in her fucking face. The dynamic is completely fucked.
Poison Ivy isn't funny, cute or dumb anymore, and Poison Ivy isn't seductive and powerful at all. She's just sad.
>>83868380
Goddamn, i keep mixing my words.
>>83868380
>In the comics worked because Poison Ivy felt bad about how the Joker used and abused Harley
This literally doesn't make any sense and it almost feels like a forced plot point
Ivy is in Arkham because Batman thinks Ivy is too dangerous to coexist in the real world even tho her powers would be a great benefit towards both business and the planet in general.
Batman's autism makes it so he can't trust anyone hence his contingency plans
You would think after being thrown in Arkham multiple times she'd hate all humans because humans won't outlive nature
>>83868370
>hurr everyone disagrees me that must be shitposting autists
go kill yourself
Are we even talking about the original topic anymore?
>>83868421
Go back to Tumblr
>>83868423
Ivy/Harley autists need to always make it about their autism
>>83868426
What the hell does disagreeing with you have to do with Tumblr? I don't use Tumblr, amigo
>>83868370
>>83868380
Yeah, I agree. The dynamic being deviated from what once was it's bad and completely wrong, if anything Ivy mini did the pairing okay in the bar scene. I dunno ehy P&C keep doin the beta Ivy
>>83868420
If you ask me, Batman should fuck all the three of them: Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. Just turn them into his Very Bad Charlie's Angels. Make them his bitches, where they go around Gotham dealing with stuffs that Batman can't handle for Batman and later he pays them with sex 'n shit.
Fuck, i should be a DC editor. This book would sell like coke.

>>83868454
Well the ending of Sirens pretty much implied that, except the sex thing. Which is why many people hate it
>>83868426
This whole thing happened because you fucking came in with something unrelated to the topic and shat everything up, stop telling everyone displeased for you to go back to SJW boogeyman site just because they wanted to discuss what this fucking topic is actually about.
>>83868454
Batman only fuck Twinks
The tighter their boipuddy the better
>>83868474
I thought people hated Sirens because the three fought among themselves with Harley pretty much destroying Ivy, using Ivy's feeling for Harley against her.
>>83868503
Well that too. People hate the ending of Sirens because it destroyed a genuine partnership that was well written
Poison Ivy in the cartoons was just a female version of the Joker. Her dynamic with Harley Quinn was pretty much the same.
Ivy would come up with a score and invite Harley or Harley would just forcibly tag along, and then Harley would constantly annoy or sabotage Ivy sending Ivy into bouts of rage trying to hit or kick Harley out, with no success, and then they would end up stuck together back at Arkham thanks to Batman, who would get them because of Harley's stupidity.

It would be cool, man. Think about it. Green skinned Robin would be all the rage.
>>83867542
Well to be fair, all they did was use his Golden Age self, from before Robinson basically rewrote him from the ground up.
>>83868536
>Poison Ivy in the cartoons was just a female version of the Joker.
You know damn well that's bullshit.
Talia is the only fem-joker
>>83868555
When would Batman rape the Joker too?
>>83868579
In relation to Harley, yes she was. She was a less abusive Joker.
>>83868078
This is a bot, isn't it?
>>83868589
>She was a less abusive Joker.
Can't you just say "Less abusive" without making it sound like you need to make a Joker Parallel
That's like saying Red Hood is a less abusive Punisher
>>83868613
Red Hood is a faggy Punisher, though. He totally is.
>>83868630
Not even. Punisher's backstory and Red Hood's backstory are completely different the only parallel is they're unhinged, shoot guns, and kill thousands of people.
>>83867542
Sinestro was underwhelming, but then again, he wasn't that great in the comics at that time.
Hugo Strange was unexcusable, though. They grabbed a big threat from the comics and made him a chump.
Captain Atom in JLU was very flat and less interesting from his comic book version, particularly the 80's run. Same with Eiling.
>>83867542
I think they did green lantern wrong I mean why is Hal black?
>>83868649
Hey lets be fair here Hugo is a fucking turbo jobber who desperately wants to be at Ra's level of fierceness and the second Ra started getting involved he turned down like a bitch
Strange belongs in Arkham with the rest of the psychopaths
>>83868644
Backstories are just fluff. What matters is how the characters are used and RH is a faggy little Punisher.
>>83868420
Really as long as Harley doesn't hurt any plants then Ivy would probably be fine around her. The issue there though is that it's hard to believe Harley could avoid doing something without thinking for all that time. Wouldn't just carrying a wooden mallet be enough to piss Ivy off?
>>83867619
Not to mention the story made them look pathetic. The JLA series had a weird hard on for making their villains look useless, minus Luthor and Joker.
>>83868672
Not if Ivy created a mallet for her made of Biodegradable recycled wood
There have been some continuities where the plants understand Ivy's way of thinking so for the greater good will let Ivy harm them so more can prosper in the future
I remember Ivy giving a short prayer before she revved a chainsaw and cut down a tree because she needs the Bio-Chemical within it to create her super plants.
>>83868670
But again that's not the fact. That's your terrible opinion.
>>83868662
what?
>>83868712
Red Hood is gay, okay? And you're gay for liking it.
I never understood why Batman was Italian in the cartoons. Was there an explanation given?
>>83868664
>Hey lets be fair here Hugo is a fucking turbo jobber who desperately wants to be at Ra's level of fierceness and the second Ra started getting involved he turned down like a bitch
Next time, try basing you knowledge of a character from other things besides a single videogame.
Hugo Strange fucking sucks. Dude's a manlet.
>>83868746
Dude DC doesn't even care about Hugo
DC doesn't care about any villain not named The Joker stop pretend your supposed years of comic knowledge changes that you fucking turbo faggot
Pretty much everyone
It was an okay set of shows but far from being anywhere as entertaining as the source material and they just didn't give it their all for non-Batman characters
>>83867542
Bane was some serious bullshit. He deserved better than what he got.
Hugo should've been a much bigger threat.
>>83868772
What's with the Hugo mancrush? What did Hugo ever did in the comics other than try to create some dumb mutants and talk to mannequins?
>>83868772
Injustice Bane is the worst example
He's literally no different than every stronk jobber on the rest of the DC roster he's The Ryback of DC Villians
>>83867635
This is the best answer. Honestly all the Lantern stuff suckd. That's what you get for choosing Stewart, I guess.
Timm himself admits to not quite getting how to write Superman and having no idea what to do with Wonder Woman

Why do people hate the ending of City Sirens? I thought it was because of the stupid shit Harley but reading this thread it's seems like something else.
Is it because Selina let the others escape?
>>83867542
They simply decided to make animated Shade like the classic comic version & not Robinson's self-insert
>>83869953
Which one's Twoface? I only see Metallo.
This is the reason people think Bane is just a big thug on roids, who only depends on Venom. Nolan had a better Bane than this, but BTAS fanatics keep railing on DKR because his Bane didn't have any synergy with the cartoon.

>>83870505
>This is the reason people think Bane is just a big thug on roids, who only depends on Venom.
I'd blame Batman and Robin more.
Now this one is debatable, but I feel like Superman was written by people that didn't actually understand him, so they set him up as some generic manperson, like an absolute boy scout instead of a compelling character. At least until unlimited.
>>83867542
Isn't this just golden age shade?

>>83868662

>>83867917
Yeah, DCAU Catwoman had god tier casting (Adrienne Barbeau!) wasted on some very very bad early 90s writing.
I get the feeling the only reason Batman TAS Catwoman was so crazy about environmentalism and conservation was because that was the big "thing" at the time. It was a terrible fit.
They started to move away from it toward the end of TAS and it was completely absent in TNBA, but the damage was already done. Total waste.
>>83871566
That was all on Sean Catherine Derek, she was the veteran producer on the show because WB didn't quite trust a couple of newbies like Timm and Radomski to oversee it themselves. She wanted Batman to go full Captain Planet.
>>83868758
>Hugo Strange fucking sucks. Dude's a manlet.
It's one of those times where it hurts to say it, but that was something The Batman did better. Their Hugo Strange was actually really good and they built him up over several seasons.
TAS Strange was a one-shot mad scientist and his episode kinda sucked.
>>83868670
>I won't actually back up my pants-on-head assertion with evidence, I'll just say it again with more emphasis!
I'm guessing you were more of an art student than an English one. All the paint and glue you can eat...
>>83871628
Strange's episode in B:TAS wasn't really all that different from the one in Englehart's run. He blackmails rich people, finds out Batman's identity, auctions it off to the highest bidder. They just didn't include the part where Rupert Thorne has him beaten to death to find out for free.
>ctrl+f Hawkman
How has nobody said Hawkman, his DCAU portrayal was horrible
>>83871726
>How has nobody said Hawkman, his DCAU portrayal was horrible
It was... consistent with how he was being written in the comics at the time; he was Hawkgirl's "stalker" so they tried to port that over. (I think that was a Johns idea from his JSA run, right?)
I guess the big problem was the same problem that's always plagued Hawkman. They tried to combine different elements of all the many incarnations of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, the magical Golden age shit, the sci-fi Silver age shit and the modern shit. And they couldn't pull it off.
>>83871790
There was also alien invasion Hawkman, and both were cucked by John Stewart. Dwayne McDuffie hates Hawkman.
>>83871827

Don't talk shit about McDuffie he was based
>>83871790
>It was... consistent with how he was being written in the comics at the time; he was Hawkgirl's "stalker"
It wasn't good in the comics but the DCAU made it even worse and added the stuff about Chay-ara cheating on Khufu with not-John which was totally unnecessary and made him look like an even bigger asshole especially compared to John
At least in the comics he stopped pushing and she dated some other people until they eventually hooked up, he wasn't just a delusional loser
>>83871860
Too much of a Batman and Hawkgirl fanboy for that to be accurate.
>>83871790
I enjoyed how they never explicitly said if HM and HG were reincarnated.

The reincarnation shit really doesn't work for me. It's not that I don't buy the concept of reincarnation. It's that I don't buy that each reincarnation also has superpowers even though they are technically reborn as humans and not Thanagarians.
I can't recall if Shayera was reborn as a human, but I'm pretty sure Carter is human. In any case, the live action versions on CW are reborn as humans but also have wing sprouting powers which is just one of the many problems with that show.
>>83871628
It turns out the only reason they used Hugo Strange was because they wanted to use the Scarecrow, but weren't allowed because of the Nolan movies (which makes no fucking sense to me, wouldn't they want more synergy?). So Hugo Strange actually did all the things they had planned with Jonathan Crane.
>>83868674
I think it's mostly because a lot of villains had to be introduced in giant groups so nobody really got to do anything. Sinestro was just kind of a generic bad guy, so were Cheetah and a bunch of others, even Clayface got that and he was a long-established character.
JL/JLU seemed to do a better job with the lesser known villains. Killer Frost was fine, they seemed to like Atomic Skull, Giganta was pretty good too.
>>83871960
>Hawkman and Hawkgirl are my OTP and any other pairing is WRONG
You sound like a shipper. Go back to your Korra threads.
>>83871860
>Nah, he just hated white people in general.
I dunno about hating white people, but it was clear pretty quick that John was McDuffie's self-insert wish fulfillment character.
>>83872109
Hawkgirl/John Stewart is pretty awful though
>>83872021
>which makes no fucking sense to me, wouldn't they want more synergy?
At the time, they believed having multiple versions of any character who wasn't Batman would have been too confusing for kids. So by ranking it was Nolan movies>Teen Titans>The Batman>Justice League Unlimited. When Teen Titans ended, Dick Grayson got to be in The Batman, which is also why they introduced Batgirl first.
>>83872109
>Hawkgirl and Hawkman are OTP
But that's the whole point numbnuts. It's like breaking up Black canary and Green arrow.
>>83872156
They it was the "Embargo" era.
Aquaman and Blank Manta weren;t allowed to appear in the last season of JLU because of the Mercy Reef pilot on the CW (a pilot that never got picked up).
That's why we got "Devil Ray" instead.
>>83872156
Then how come the Joker got to be in the Batman? And he was completely different to any version ever too.
>>83867619
>>83868674
But they basically won there. It's not their fault future Savage felt bad.

You are a confirmed retard that never watched BTAS. Why do people on /co/ try to talk about things they've never read/watched?
>>83872156
It's funny because Marvel doesn't buy that bullshit and will instead have its characters in as many forms of media as they can, many characters show up in multiple cartoons.
>>83872189
The Dark Knight was released July 2008, the last episode of The Batman aired in March 2008.
Don't mind me, just posting worst DCAU adapted character.
Also from worst DCAU straight to video movie.
>>83872240
Literally what. She wasn't adapted at all. If you are talking Kathy it was too late in Bruce's career to introduce her and if you are talking Kate she hadn't even been created yet.
>>83872217
The Batman wasn't allowed to use Two-Face because Nolan had dibs, WB knew exactly what characters would be in the movies.
>>83872240
Ehhhhhh.
DCAU Batwoman was more of a completely original character who happened to share a name with some characters from the comics.
>agreed that Mystery of the Batwoman was a shit movie, though
>>83872240
Brainiac Attacks wins the prize of "worst straight to video movie that recycles art from the DCAU"
>>83872240
Timm's style is such shit sometimes
>>83867542
I've always thought their Amazo was boring as fuck, they didn't even try adapting the (admittedly silly) comic book design, they just swept it under the rug like movies do and replaced it with the least imaginative thing possible.
>>83872285
>Brainiac Attacks
NON CANON NON CANON NON CANON NON CANON!!!
>>83872280
A Two-Face story would have been redundant with their Clayface admittedly. I suppose like Superman and Luthor who appeared in Smallville and JLU, Joker was deemed too important to embargo.
>>83872290
You're a faggot
>>83870724
>an absolute boy scout
If anything, DCAU Supes was the opposite - prone to anger.
>>83872323
It literally is.
>>83872321
I like the design. Simple, yet effective.
>>83872321
>>83872321
>replaced it with the least imaginative thing possible.
Their Eclipso was a little boring in that way, but they still through the Silver Age design a bone and had one of the Eclipso avatars wear that getup for a scene.
Amazo was yeah, really boring-looking. He was in some great episodes, but his design was straight up "Bruce Timm's fucking male character template A".
>>83872021
That only applied for one episode. Every single other appearance, they've always meant to use Strange.
>>83872520
>That only applied for one episode.
Was it the episode where Strange drugs Batman into thinking Gotham's been overrun by zombies?
That seemed rather Scarecrow-ish, but the writers fit it into Strange's arc throughout the series pretty well (it was also one of the rare good episodes of The Batman).
>>83872146
Those characters are awful and deserve each other.
>>83867801
>Its like the DC equivalent of Korrsami?
Completely, 100%, irrevocably canon?

I just graduated from college, so I'm treating May (when I graduated) until August 1st as summer vacation. Deal with it.I mean I'm applying to career-oriented positions and if I get one of them before my imaginary deadline I'll 100% take it, but I'm currently enjoying my time not being a barista or waiter for a few months
Was star sapphire presented accurately?
>>83872776
Hal wasn't in the show, so that removes her primary motivation.
>>83867917
The only exceptions were the episode "You Scratch My Back" which I thought was really good, and the amazing animated short "Chase Me"

Didn't really seem to exist in any extent other than that other woman McDuffie's self-insert fucks.
> mfw Tommy Monaghan gets hit by a fucking train and dies offscreen
He just seemed like a less ambitious Lex to me. I'm partial to the savage intellectual version in the comics. Could've played up the psychic aspect as well. VA was meh, should've been scarier.
>>83873547
That hurt.
I liked their version of The Whale though.
>>83868463
Part of the reason why I rarely come here anymore.
Its almost as bad as tumblr

4chan's anti-tumblr (as in: anti-monitor, anti-christ, etc) behavior is just as unbearable as tumblr's worst tumblr behavior.
Ideally, you get threads where anons are actually acting like actual human beings, rather than buzzword-spewing caricatures. They're more and more rare these days, though.
>>83874108
The Huntress episode, he's only mentioned.

>he says while posting Tumblr's flagship
>>83874398
Ah, must've missed that. I should really rewatch the whole JL/JLU series, I haven't done so since it first aired, and I was really borderline-terminally ill at the time, so not necessarily in the best frame of mind to catch all the details.
>>83870225
>there's people that think Darkseid is Superman's enemy
He is much greater than that
>>83870032
As much as I love the DCAU, I do kind of have to agree that they didn't do the best job with them.
Disagree with them interacting with the DCU properly. It should be done with a lot of care, without making them just advanced super aliens you can punch around.
>>83871960
>It wasn't good in the comics but the DCAU made it even worse and added the stuff about Chay-ara cheating on Khufu with not-John which was totally unnecessary and made him look like an even bigger asshole especially compared to John
IIRC that stuff comes from Ancient History which was an episode that Geoff Johns wrote. So blame Johns.
>>83867917
I have to agree. Not one of the better characters in the series.
>>83872178
>It's like breaking up Black canary and Green arrow. You thought I would abandon you? Not a chance.
>>83872283
I didn't mind Mystery of the Batwoman. It's the worst DCAU Batman movie but it's not AWFUL or anything. The problem is more that it's just stretched out far beyond what it should've been. It would've made for a great standalone BTAS/TNBA episode.
>>83874642
It kind of works in the JSA comics, but you have multiple issues and the rest of the supporting cast for both Carter and Shayera to talk to about how messed up the situation is. Trying to pull it off in one JLU episode where Carter was first introduced was just a recipe for disaster.
>>83872376
>He was in some great episodes, but his design was straight up "Bruce Timm's fucking male character template A".
Which, in actuality, makes it a great design thematically. His debut episode was even called Tabula Rasa for fucks sake.

The entire first issue of the Harley & Ivy mini is Ivy being murderously mad at Harley over pic related.
>>83875098
I think you're thinking of Devilray (discount Black Manta) who looked up at an unseen crotchshot of Giganta.
>>83875098
No, but he has a thing for animals. Which is why he smiled at giganta only after learning she used to be an ape.
>>83868759
Spot the casual.
>>83875270
>Devil Ray
Man fuck that guy. I love Black Manta, and I know they couldnt use him because an Aquaman show was in development at the time, but he fell short imo. Sucks even more that he died and that they were planning on introducing Black Manta later in the season
>>83868785
Learn Batman's identity and try to auction it off to criminals? Read the Englehart Strange Apparitions run. That, and although Prey wasn't the greatest story, it introduced the intriguing notion of the guy being so obsessed with Batman he'd actually try to become Batman.
And Batman is constantly suffering deconstruction at the clumsy hands of airmchair psychoanalysts, so having a villain who embodies that, a disturbed psychiatrist who thinks he truly understands Batman when his psychobabble is actually way off, is really interesting.
>>83870537
He emphasized Bane being intelligent instead of just being able to lift. It does give Nolan points.
