Green Lantern looks heroic AF on that cover
>>83854251
Finally! I've been waiting forthe incoming suffering!
All right, give me a couple minutes. Got connection issues.
>>83854372
Fear not, Johnny.
Thumbs up let's do this
Okay, fucking finally. We're kicking today off with the tragic conclusion to Ralph Dibny's mystical odyssey.
>>83854762
Oh yes.
Much as I hate Didio, I'm so fucking glad he intervened for this one.
>>83854889
THERE IT IS
>>83855013
>>83855023
I'm sad
Oh shitSobek is the last Horseman, isn't he
Yeah Buddy.
Shit, she's back.
Oh Sobek!
>>83855246
>>83855258
It never gets easier.
Damn.
>>83854892
What did he change?
>>83855429
Man, this scene. Isis repenting for her heroic ways and begging her husband to go back to evil.
Shouldn't work, but it does.
>>83855501
Apparently the entire ending of that storyline was going to be much worse and less impressive on Ralph's part. Didio loves Ralph, so he intervened to give his story a proper ending.
>>83855664
> With every murder
> Crows
Ha, I get it.
You do not fuck with Black Adam.
Sivana is having the time of his life.
>>83855246
fuck.
>>83855246
That's our Sobek!
;_;
I mean, a little.
Clark knows a Luthor-brand ruse cruise when he sees one.
>>83855896
Didn't Everyman fall down a hole and die?
>>83855818
I love these guys.
>>83855922
Probably had some cracked ribs and a wicked concussion, but I guess his powers come with super durability too.
>>83855511
I thought Shazam! and Black Adam were like mortal enemies? why is the Marvel family conforming Adam?
>>83856008
Billy's been trying to reform him for awhile. Shit, they were both on the JSA for a bit under Johns' run.
>>83856017
Plus the guy just lost his wife and (adopted) brother. There's hating your enemy and then there's showing basic compassion.
>>83855002
SO FUCKING GOOD
I miss when I had hype for an event.
>>83855764
Yeah, I remember everyone was legitimately shocked by this part. The goofy mascot becomes thebeasts of the apocalypse.
>>83855818
Veronica Cale was never not a bitch.
>>83856017
>>83856078
that's pretty cool desu
>>83855818
Other best part. Wasn't this Morrison's idea?
>>83856252
>Yeah, I remember everyone was legitimately shocked by this part.
I mentioned this last thread, but there were two points when I was reading this for the first time where I had to close my laptop and just stare at the wall for a couple minutes.
The first was when Luthor caused all of his artificial metahumans to fall out of the sky.
The second was Sobek's reveal.
>>83856321
That's dumb.
That's a dumb cliffhanger.
>>83856310
It's the most Luthor thing imaginable. Kill all of your pet superheroes and blow up your city just because you can't get powers.
And yet people think Luthor would be good without Supes.
>>83856360
>It's the most Luthor thing imaginable.
In my defense this was one of the first DC comics I read and didn't know better.
>>83856382
Fucking EVERYONE'S in Nanda Parbat these days...

I've never understood why Ralph wanted to trick Neron. Obviously, he's evil, but it seems like he just used him as a way to die with some honor.
>>83855081
How did Billy not detect Sobek's evil?
>>83856307
Oolong in general reeks of Morrison.
>wacky cheerful friendly mad scientists who are creating horrifying abominations that scratch and tear at reality itself.
>>83856373
No, it's done really well. You don't see it coming and then bang.
>>83856476
Sobek doesn't know he's evil. He's just always hungry. It was staring us in the face all of the time, but played for fun
>>83856525
There's always a fine line between comedy and horror.
What's the saying? "Comedy is tragedy plus time".
>>83855241
>>83855246
>>83855258
I remember jumping out of my seat the week this came out.
One of the most blindsided heel turns in comics
>>83856585
It's amazing that a event that was written so hastily in general and with zero central planning could play off such a huge reveal so fucking well.
As everyone else said, it's plain as day in hindsight.
>>83856584
One of my all time favourite comic pages.
>>83855429
Good job Isis, in your dying words you caused the deaths of a billion people
Love this cover. It's the only issue I have of 52 in single form.
>>83856740
Black Adam probably would've hauled off and murdered everyone regardless.
>>83856751
Magnus and the Metal Men are awesome and I'm sad that we haven't gotten more of them in the New 52 after their appearance in Forever Evil.
>>83856760
I like that the JSA are the first to try and get him out. They were teammates after all.
>>83856772
They were in Forever Evil? When? What did they do?
>>83856828
Cyborg goes to get their help in order to fight the CSA after the rest of the Justice League gets put down.
>>83856289
Did it, like, take him 4 weeks to stop posing after scanning that Sun-Eater?
>>83856772
You might consider picking up the Legends of Tomorrow comic. There's quite a bit of Magnus and Metal Men in that.
>>83856382
I agree with whichever writer thought that this was a stupid goddamn take on Wonder Woman. The series that spun out of it gave us Amazons Attack, right?
>>83856922
Oh shit I forgot about that. I'll have to check it out.
>>83856944
IIRC we got a few issues of secret agent WW first. Simone's take kind of meandered for a while before plunging into the shit that was Amazons Attack.
At least Rucka's coming back.
>>83856917
I want Magnus and Hank Pym to team up and go on crazy mad science adventures.
Goddamn I love Dr. Magnus
It's Black Adam vs the world! Who's your money on?
>>83857044
He is done giving any sort of fucks and it's a lot of fun to watch, particularly when everything else is going to shit in the book elsewhere.
>>83856773
>the Great Wall
>on Oolong Island
>>83857046
Pretty even odds all things considered.
>>83856998
Secret Agent Wondy was a silly concept to begin with, and it was never really done justice.
>>83857219
>Zatanna is flat
well that's a bit of a departure from the usual style
>>83857283
If we have space, someone needs to post the pages where he figures out the new magic word later on.
Only two weeks left!
>>83855180
>>83856289
>Buddy has been sitting in the same space for 4 weeks straight
Lol what
>>83857200
I didn't like this, honestly. I think if Infinity Inc's remaining members had stepped up at the urging of the JSA, it would've shown that there's potential in the new generation even if Luthor was in the wrong.
>>83857349
Have you read the modern Johns run of JSA? It developed into a team that trained and involved a lot of younger heroes, particularly those who were stepping into the shoes of old legacies.Their existence already shows the potential in the new generation, this just shows that the people Luthor picked for the project were doing it for the wrong reasons in the first place.
>>83857337
If I had a wife with a body like that after two kids, I'd cross the universe to get back too.
>>83857431
Yeah, I've read it, and it's pretty good. Just... I dunno, in their appearance before WWIII, they seemed to be determined to do good, and then they just run at the first sign of trouble. It just feels like it's proving the idea that "only those who got their powers through luck or accident or quirk of birth deserve to have them".
>>83857485
Cliff's got his fuckin priorities straight
This was also a surprise the first time around.
>>83857514
Oh fuck that reveal
Hope Dr. Morrow gets out, he seems p. cool
>>83857479
Well before that when they were talking about wanting to stand up and prove themselves, it sounded more like they just wanted the attention, to be relevant again, than to actually help.
But yeah it would've been nice if they turned out to be good guys after all.
...Aaaand I'm going to have to put the final issue in its own thread! Don't go anywhere!
>>83857503
>>83857514
>literally a bug in the system
>>83857514
Oh fuck yes this is a great reveal.
I wonder what the guesses were for what was controlling/manipulating Skeets while this was still ongoing.
>>83857577
Final issue starting now!
>>83857555
Really? There's only 219 images here, you should still have space, unless it's an unusually large issue?
>>83856760
>Black Adam is stronger than Power Girl, Atom Smasher, Alan Scott & Stargirl combined
That doesn't sound right
>>83857785
Black Adam is a warrior king from Ancient Egypt who's just lost everything he ever loved...AGAIN.
He's not holding back, he's not fighting to subdue, he's not concerned with the safety of his allies (because he doesn't have any), and he's not some modern day decadent (from the perspective of an ancient times person) soft "fighter".
So yeah, it actually makes sense if you think about it. Restraint goes a long way in making you considerably less dangerous than you'd be otherwise.
>>83857990
Especially when you have the full power of seven legitimate large-g Gods. He's more powerful than any of them (arguably equal to Alan Scott when he gets serious), including Power Girl.
Black Adam is at least as powerful as Superman in any but his most bullshit incarnations.
>>83858047
I can see him being able to overpower PG because of magic, but he shouldn't be that much stronger than her
>>83855023
Could someone help explain to me what just went down?
>>83861658
Ralph tricked Felix Faust into a trap designed to not only fuck him over, but the bait Neron into coming to Earth and killing him, therefore binding them both in the same spell that they can't escape now that he's dead.
Ultimately, like how an anon said earlier, the whole thing is still a suicide attempt, but it's a very, very elaborate one intended to also take out A.) a villain who tried to take advantage of Dibny at his weakest, and B.) one of the bigshots of hell just because he fucking can.
UP
>>83861729
Ah, thanks!
>>83857157
>Black Adam vs everyone
>>83857283Chocolate Egg Creme
>>83857365
THIS is such a beautiful scene. It makes my heart melt.
Its a damn shame New 52 tried to fuck over their marriage. Fuck Didio.
I'm kinda lost. I remember reading this Black Adam vs the world (I remember it being World War III) thing but with a lot of other things. J'onn trying to mess with his mind and failing, Adam fighting with the Teen Titans and killing Terra... Anyway, it was awesome.
Were they like tie-ins and this is the central story?
>>83871428
There were four issues specifically titled World War III, that's what you're remembering.
>>83871466
Thank you, almighty Lantern.
>>83856409
I love this page, it feels so triumphant.
