I met him at Long Beach Comic Con at the DC panel, before DC and Marvel realized that the con would be way smaller than anyone expected.

Someone asked the million dollar question about Young Justice and Didio said that book to him showed how much redundancy was in the DCU, where there were so many books that had "knock off characters" doing nothing. Part of the reason there is constantly line wide events and reboots is because Didio's vision is for all the books to fit into a tapestry and have a bigger goal inside the DCU

Just recently I read the ASM omni and turned right back to the start and read it agian.

I did find Buisick/Perez Avengers unreadible for this exact same reason though. So ot isn't old comics. Hell, Earth X, for example, makes Stan Lee look terse by comparison. As for old comics, I really only have this problem with Shooter and Roy Thomas. Guy like Clairmont, Wolfman, Moench, Lee and Kirby entertain the fuck out of me.

DC: The New Frontier I'd say is a solid 9.5/10, if not a 10/10.

Anyone pick up any DCYou trades? I have an order planned next week for some currently released trades and I'm petrified that they'll have the new logo already and fuck up the aesthetic of some of the DCYou trades I've already gotten.

If the trades have the vertical plain "DC Comics" on a blue bar you should be fine. If the trades have the New 52 Page Turn logo then in you're going to have to get used to it.

Never read Ultimates v3 or Ultimatum. Never do it, believe me. Skip over it and read the stuff after that if you like because it gets a bit better then again, but seriously, ignore Ultimates v3 and Ultimatum. Jeff Loeb had a bad reputation before that but with those 2 titles he pretty much killed any credibility he still had and he literally destroys everything you ever liked about the UU. It's worth *some*, but we're talking chump change - as long as you have a job that pays more than minimum wage, it's worth it just to hold onto them. They'll always be worth more down the line, and owning rare comics in of itself is fun. Really only get rid of them if they're: a) worthless, or b) taking up too much space that they're a burden.

Single issues and runs with gaps in them are also worth significantly less than full sets, so it's also worth just, yknow, collecting if that is ever your hobby. I have 10,000+ comics, and they paid for themselves just by buying incomplete runs, and amassing the same collection twice, selling one to pay for the other.

I'm a history teacher so I'm not rich by any means but am comfortable and love using the comics for history lessons. I'm just not too into the collecting hobby as I have moved on into different hobbies and have a kid on the way and don't know if I should sell now or just keep them for the bigger payoff. Absolute Sandman, 3 volumes in.
TWD Compendium, six chapters in.

I'm on the fence on which format should I pick up Sandman.

I like the way the story is broken down in the paperbacks (but I prefer hardcover) with Fables and Reflections collecting the short stories set throughout Morpheus' history. The Absolute Edition seem great but they are the most expensive choice, and the Omnibus seems nice but I hear is glued (not sure if it's also sewn). What would you recommend as the best edition?

Yeah. I am okay with Dodsons but they have nothing to do with classic Shang Chi comics. I want my book with original Starlin cover. Most books of the print must come with original covers. Looking at how Starlin cover was in OOP after 5 days of sales, there were not enough books with taht cover. Shame on Marvel for doing this.

I asked in a previous thread, but thought I'd see if anyone else has suggestions. My DC omnis seem to be sagging a bit under their own weight, and the bottom of the pages get bent. Is there anything that can really be done to help them stay in decent shape? Or are they just too big?

All my onmibus's are starting to bleed ink on the top of the page.
Like, if there is white on one page and a color on the page that faces it, that color bleeds onto the white.

What is this and how can I stop it?
Why is it only on the top of the page?
Is it from light exposure or from being stacked on their sides a while back?

It's driving me nuts.
