A lot of people here will scoff at Sex Criminals and maybe even Tokyo Ghost, but I like them well enough.

Yeah I get the idea of doing more subdued scifi, but I think half the appeal of comics has always been handling big ideas in a bombastic, awe-inspiring way.
If I'm looking for less colour and more of a plunge into the guts of a concept, I'll read a novel. With comics I want to see the concept play out in dramatic fashion.

A comic book series that was greatly acknowledged by its first issue ending twist. I stopped following it about 5 issues in so I can't judge it too much. I liked where it was going and the comics were still trying to build up the fantasy portion of the world. I grew fond of the kid's father and how he retained faith in his son's fate. I should get back into it.

Yes, so far. I mean I don't know if Williamson knows where he's going with it, his other comic Nailbiter is kind of spinning its wheels, but it's really entertaining so far.
