How do you think that Moore and Howard should approach their relationship in the sequel? Should it be the focus of the plot?
>>83780933
I think it should focus on Judy'splot.
>>83780933
>Should it be the focus of the plot?
Nah. side plot
>>83781014
Judy is mine.
>>83781050
Look here you little slut Judy is for Nick and Nick only.
>>83781102
That's Nick out of the way.
As much I take issues with this movie (the biggest problem I have is that this movie doesn't have enough old, sick, disabled animals)
I have to admit it's an inspiring idea. Especially how they treat so called savage behavior. They are so insistent on being civilized.
How do you think they deal with real wild animals??? They lock the 14 missing animals in wards but that's only temporary measures
I look forward to the day they set up a zoo or a wildlife preservation.
I think there is no way they name it "res". Res is just too sensitive and politically incorrect.
They might call it wild life preserve
>in the sequel Judy's closest sister visits and it's revealedshe hates foxes
>there is a high-profile criminal that turns out to beNick's dad
>the rest of Bellwether's family isactually super nice, making her theblack sheep
>>83780933
>old thread has good conversation and constant posts
>gets archived
>new thread is dead
Also I think the movie should cement their romance but not have it be the sole focus
>>83781517
Just have to wait for most people to transfer over.
>>83781517
What kind of big criminal plot do you expect them to deal with during the sequel?
>>83781645
Animal trafficking ring.
>>83781170
If we have to be very politically correct...
We see that animals don't 100% overcome their wild behaviors and they are ok with that. They only react strongly to biting because it's a matter of life and death.
So we can presume that they are actually quite lenient or tolerant to wild behaviors and deal with it as a "cultural diversity".
>>83780933
They should leave the relationship ambiguous and in secondary focus. I want a buddy cop movie, not a rom-com.
Do you think they keep pets and livestocks????
>>83781885
Friend zone.
That's the problem with male-female relationship in general. Not just in movies.
Do you think Gazelle instinctively gets nervous around lions because lions used to hunt gazelles?I don't even know where I'm going with this shitposting.

>>83781645
Something unexpected, like a prey cult that eat predators.
>>83782009
>>83782078
was it ever explained in the movie that they eat fish and insects?
>>83781948
You can reformat the question as do animals fear animals from outside of their natural habitat.
I think as they develop the movie not all writings got through the process and got into the movie
>>83782109
There's a wrapper for a bug burger somewhere in one of the shots
>>83782078
Do you think they pet them???
That's going to be a challenge. Mammals are popular pets for men for a reason. Insects and fish don't have that.
Can you imagine Judy keeping a bunny in cage as her pet?
>>83782195
Uh, well that would be the same as me keeping you in a cage as a pet. Not hard to imagine the reaction

Duh.
>>83780933
It could start off with Nick and Judy heading to Judy's home town for the weekend after their last shift of the week. Start things off friendly by maybe having Nick meet all of Judy's siblings and her parents. Her parents could act somewhat worried that Judy is growing a bit too close to Nick but she brushes aside their concerns.
If they fall in love it needs to be very gradual. Good friends at the very beginning and then slowly becoming something more the longer they work together.

>>83782215
This get me reflect about humans idea of pets.
1. We treat pets as animals essentially different from men. there are things we can do to pets but can't do it to other men.
2. But at the same time we love them because they have something in common with us.
Which is why I don't think there can be a true pet in Zootopia
now, does the lack of pets make them more human or less human?
1. The things we can't do to men they can't do it to mammals. And they probably don't need to do it anyway.
2. If they love an animal they just treat it as their equal
Now, the question becomes that does these two points cover the meaning of pets in human society completely?
>>83783315
Your story is still Judy centric and Nick's back story is never developed.
>>83783739
Whats the point anyway? It's like poking an open wound. Original zootopia never going to happen. Ever. I wish i never knew about it, at least wouldn't be so disappointed once again in my life. Fucking disney.
>>83783935
I'm sure there are pet fish or even insects, since they likely look at both as livestock. I don't see a reason for them to see them as "fellow animal", rather than other species incapable of processing thoughts and concepts.
I mean, humans are animals too. Like how we have rules for those that think like us, they probably have the same rules for all sentient animals, non-extensive to their food.
>>83784033
There's always fan works.
>>83784033
i think the reason behind is Hurt Pride.
also compaining about not enough dark in disneyis like complaining that candy store is not selling only dark chocolate treats.
>>83784043
Well my argument about human pets is based on the assumption that only mammals are "true" pets. I have dogs and cats in mind. So most of the things I said are about dogs and cats.
I think dogs and cats are chosen because 1. They are bred to accommodate city life style. 2. They are similar to men. 3. They are not men after all.
So if zootopia animals keep goldfish as pets I don't really have any emotion or idea about that.
I'm going to bed.

Fuck the children. Fuck them. Those stupid little fucks doesn't understand shit anyway, whats the point of sugar coating everything? But i guess lawyers and soccer moms does and would try to sue them and raising up age restriction means losing target audience. Thats no-no. You can't lose couple millions of dollars when you have all the money in the world. When you the only thing in this world that can do, they don't. You can't show instead something beautiful, something that worth living for to see. But you can show sexulized shakiras fursona, thats all right. She does stupid pop song for as, so it's okay. Childrens are safe. It's all about money and muh kids. Think of the children! I don't give a shit. Fuck you. I just want to see a good movie.

If they want to make interspecies relationships and all the metaphors that go along with it (interracial, gay relationships, coming out, etc.), then Judy and Nick will have to be in a secret relationship with each other at the start of the movie. Or at least be extremely hesitant about making their relationship romantic due to societal pressures.
It's a logical step to move towards after the themes of broader stereotyping and general racism of the first one. You get people who are OK with predators, but not when they're dating their daughters. "It's not natural!" they'll say.
I think their relationships should turn romantic because it leads to new story ideas and things about the universe.
Also I think it should turn romantic because I am worthless shipping trash and I think they're cute together.
>>83784766
>what we got is beatiful
You ain't got shit, it's just cute bunny and everyone wants to fuck it.
>but in the end they know what they are doing
Yeah, like they cut off 1/3 of the movie for no real reason. But wait, there is a reason. Muh kids can't sit in movie theater more than 90 minutes, so lets just cut shit tons of scenes between stages. Look at this graphic, it says movies that 90 minutes long make more money. You and everyone knows that they got fucked and just pretending to be retarded. All those stealth generals are lies and everyone in them just huge ass fucking faggots.

I think there are more shippers of Judy/Nick than there are people who actually want to fuck her, just going by fan works and posts outside this place.
And what do you mean they cut off part of the movie for no reason? Most of the deleted scenes are quite clearly reflecting an earlier script, like Hopp's Apartment.

Stupid questions like this could have been easily avoided by showing a fried cricket stand at the fair in the opening scene or at least showed Gideon munching on some insect based festival food while he heckled Judy. The only clue we have is trash from buga burger that I have heard exists but never seen myself and word of god. I saw Fish Town at the start of the movie, which is good because those who catch it understand at least some of what preds eat, but really the film is almost completely devoid of explanation in that aspect and blends into the background with the rest of the world building and more that makes the movie so great.
>>83781035
I think it shouldn't be the main component of the narrative, but it should still be woven throughout the main story so it doesn't feel like there are two separate stories happening at the same time. There should be the main problem that Nick and Judy are trying to solve, but at the same time they are also trying to figure out what their relationship is and what their feelings for each other are. The events of that main story pillar ultimately push their relationship along. Basically, keep doing what they were doing in the first movie, with their relationship growing in a way that feels natural, although they take it to the next level.
If they assemble the same creative team as last time, they have my trust to get it right. The first movie showed us two charming characters with great chemistry that ultimately brews into a beautiful friendship, and the door is left open to the possibility that they might be more than friends with a little more time. In the sequel, they'll have had more time.

Face it guys and girls , even if sequel will be made it will disappoint, there were too many random factors behind zootopia's success
Y' know, there's only one deleted scene I haven't been able to find online, which is the "Taming Party" scene; the one with Koslov and his son, I think.

pacing is key, it should be somewhat fragile and only be referenced directly during one climactic moment towards the end of the movie. for most of the movie they should just be partners with only one character showing slightly more obvious interest to the audience. both characters obviously should feel the same way about each other but you should only get the perspective of one throughout most of the movie

Not him, and I'm happy with the film we got...
But why do we label everything even remotely dark as 'edgy'?
Have we gotten to the point where all films need to be happy and colorful and joyful? Where people are film with studio heads spitting on their director's visions?
And I'm not just talking about Zootopia here since, like I said I do think the film we got is great.
Look at Marvel where all of the films have to be filled with quips and humor. Look at Rogue One, where Disney is apparently reshooting 50% of the film because it's too dark.
A war film... is too dark....
What the fuck.
It's almost like one day everyone got brainwashed by ScreenJunkies and have adopted their retarded taste in film that everything needs to be Disneyfied or 'cheery'.
Also I'd understand the "but it is Disney, they're brand isn't dark" argument if they weren't literally the most powerful production company who is literally suffocating all competition. If they're going to monopolize film, the least they could do is give us something different from the same old same old schtick.

My problem is different, there was 8 writers in zootopia team and no one figured out what were they doing was wrong, assasins, tortures, Nazism, and no one batted an eye, and now the old scripts are leaking, clips videos , something you'd not see at all in modern talking animal movies, and it keeps showing even in merchandise, making Disney sweep everything zootopia related under the rug. They clung to the shock collar setting because they really liked some elements of it. They put a TON of work into Wilde Times and they really liked the polar bear cub character. I don't want the shock collar setting back but I can see where they were coming from.
>>83797752
the polar cub is cute indeed, and then you punish him. in disney tales it goes like this: kid is being imprisoned and then he figures out how to escape it. in this movie it's implied everyone just accepted this fate.
as for the wilde times was the only fun scene in that movie, that's why they liked it so much.

I don't see the problem with that.
proto-zootopia's plot wasn't even that dark. there's a lot of other shit that's more depressing and darker than proto-zootopia ever was.
and because it's a talking animal movie doesn't mean that it has to be done a certain way. I would have been fine with the original idea, and it's not like no one has ever done a "darker" talking animal story before.
I understand why they changed it. because disney isn't a dark brand and because they need to sell it to 8 year olds and I doubt many of their parents would have taken them to the depressing disney movie. but it doesn't mean that the original idea was bad just that it wasn't what disney wanted.
>...because reasons.
because they thought it would have been a good movie?

>there's a bunch of big crimes hitting Zootopia left, right and centre.
>Judy and Nick practically run themselves ragged trying to cover them all.
>it seems like the criminals are always one step ahead like they're psychic or something.
>eventually they realise that somebody's feeding them information from inside the police.
>Nick and Judy investigate the police force looking for the mole, but some of the other officers suspect Nick is the informant.
it's all I've got right now.
Interspecies relationships was already confirmed as acceptable in Zootopia so it's highly unlikely we'll get that forbidden romance thing.
It's also the only way population growth could conceivably be manageable in a society where some families can have hundreds of children. Mammals have human-like lifespans and long childhoods, since we know Judy is in her twenties in human years and has aged at the same rate as Gideon. But since mammals are living in a human-like society, they aren't dying, they're living to old age. The only way for there to be a sustainable population when there exists families like the Hopps is for the vast majority of fast-breeding mammals to never reproduce. Why would a bias against interspecies relationships ever develop for rabbits if overpopulation is a serious risk the moment they stop dying to predators? They might have a bias against predators, but getting with sheep and other prey animals provides a natural form of birth control well before condoms could be invented.
And, well, everyone is sapient and socializing like humans. It has to happen constantly.

Okay /co/
This right here triggers me!
First off, as seen in pic related you'll see Judy and her little machine. She starts the day and register her first ticket at 09:16 on Monday morning which makes perfect sense, but the problem is spotted 71 tickets later when the time on the ticket is 09:15 Monday, not only did she write 72 tickets, she wrote them and saved one minute of the whole day.
But it gets deeper when noted on the tickets that the locations are the same (at least we see that it's Banyon Ave.) which makes it either is a long ass street with multiple asshats who can't pay properly OR they fucked it up since the ticket 262 is located on the same street.
Also the vehicle types on shown tickets are all the same, "2 door auto". But this is hard to prove as an error since most of the tickets made doesn't show the vehicles itself but in that scene they show several cars with 4 doors. Just a heads up!
What puzzles me is that they do change stuff between these tickets like the ticked ID and vehicle color. So why do they leave this stuff behind?
Explain!!

It'd have been one of those concepts in which one has to metaphorically roll with it, and pretend the city is the only inhabitable place in the planet- like the whole city is the planet itself, actually. There's similar situations in a lot of dystopian or AU-ish stories
For instance, the anime Shimoneta has a very similar premise to Protozoopia, and the series only makes sense if you don't ever think about why the MCs don't just leave Japan..

>>83799607
We'll, consider that in an early version of the movie they were only going to visit Zootopia. The whole movie wasn't set there. Shock collars might have been fine for 1/5 of a movie. It's easy to look at the setting now and recognize it was hideous, but it to was built up step by step on earlier versions. Strong action was ultimately needed to jettison some of the bad early ideas and it was taken, but at the cost of losing some genuinely good ideas like Wilde Times and Honey the conspiracy theorist badger.

I like the idea of it ending with Judy helping Nick escape the city, and decides to go with him. They get in an old muscle car and go driving off into the sunset. Judy stares at her badge as she leans her head on Nick's shoulder and they have a little conversation about how they don't know what's next, but there has to be a better place out there than what they're leaving behind. Judy throes her badge out the window as "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen plays.

Still doesn't make the pain go away.
>>83808619
Doesn't matter. They'll overhype it because it's Pixar.
I mean, fuck look at the year Brave won. It was the weakest nominee based on critic reviews but it still won because people will blindly vote for Pixar if it's nominated these days (i.e. since Ratatouille won in 2007).
This is how they vote:
1.) Is a Pixar film nominated? Yes? Vote for it.
2.) No Pixar film? What about Disney? Yes! Vote for it.
3.) No Disney or Pixar film? You mean I actually have to make an effort? Ugh, fine I guess I'll vote for that strange flick with the Johnny Depp lizard
Since 2007 the only non-Disney-produced animated film to win the category has been Rango (thank God it did -- though Kung Fu Panda 2 was still pretty boss), and the only reason won was because the Disney film that year flopped (Winnie the Pooh) and wasn't nominated, and Cars 2 was an abortion that wasn't nominated.

I agree with you. Unfortunately people still see Oscars as an indication of quality. Guarantee you people say Brave is better than Ralph because it won -- ditto BH6 better than Dragons 2, Lego, Song of the Sea, and Kaguya because it won.
What sucks the most is that it always goes to a Disney film -- the one studio that doesn't need Oscars to make money or get noticed. Granted this year I hope Zootopia wins since it was actually their best film in years, but it should NOT be the default company for dumbass voters.
I do wish people would stop taking the Oscars seriously. After all, what have the Oscars gone to in the past:
>James L. Brooks for Best Director in 1983 over Ingmar Bergman for "Fanny and Alexander"
>Sydney Pollack for Best Director for "Out of Africa" over Akira Kurosawa for "Ran"
>Best Picture to "Around the World in 80 Days" instead of "Giant" in 1956
>Herbie Hancock's score for "'Round Midnight" over Ennio Morricone's masterpiece for "The Mission" in 1986
>Best Original Screenplay to "Gosford Park" over "Amelie," "The Royal Tenenbaums," and fucking "Memento"
>"Ordinary People" over "Raging Bull"
>Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for the highly overrated "score" of "The Social Network" over John Powell's work in "How to Train Your Dragon" in 2010
>A Fucking Oscar nomination for Film Editing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens -- arguably the worst aspect of the film (outside of, perhaps, the screenplay)
>Brave over Wreck-it-Ralph
>Frozen over The Wind Rises
>Big Hero 6 over Lego, HTTYD2, SoTS, and Kaguya
>Michael Caine in "The Cider House Rules" over Haley Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense," Tom Cruise in "Magnolia," and Michael Clarke Duncan in "The Green Mile"
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. Again, I agree that Oscars are meaningless (as demonstrated above) but that doesn't stop people from viewing them as some kind of indication of quality.

You sound a lot like me lol.
I love Zootopia and the version we got -- I'm just annoyed that Disney, which has basically taken control of the film industry -- suffocating all competition and might very well might end up with the top 6 spots for highest grossing films of the year (Civil War, Zootopia, Jungle Book, Finding Dory, Moana, Rogue One) -- you'd think they could at least afford to start taking some risks.
But they won't, despite having a ridiculous amount of power and money AND a general public who will typically throw all of their money at them regardless of quality. Soon we'll be stuck with the majority of mainstream films being either Disneyfied or soulless franchises.
Case in point: Rogue One. They promised a darker film, but after seeing it wet their collective, executive trousers and are now reshooting a large chunk of it to give it levity.

The fable about the Scorpion and the Fox. The scorpion convinces the fox to carry it across the river, and promises not to sting him since they'd both drown. He ends up stinging the fox, and when the fox asks why he's doomed them both, the scorpion basically says "because that's what scorpions do."

Reminder that Lord Emperor Byron Howard plans of destroying all of humanity and make his vision of Zootopia a reality.
>>83810802

I had a cheaper version of one of those once. It was made out of acrylic and you could stick it on a table. Problem is I didn't have room for it anywhere, so I was never able to use it much. I decided to just donate it to my school and become more proficient at drawing directly in Toon Boom.

I imagine his followers will all be convert furries. The core of his cult will be worshiping anthro animals. Furries will worship Byron for creating Zootopia. Their efforts will be achieved once they invent a method of granting animals intelligence and anthropomorphisim. Once this is achieved, they will purge the earth of humanity (including themselves) and let their new creations inherit the earth.
Perhaps Byron, at this time, found a way to turn himself into an anthro animal... and he lives now within Zootopia..

And Nick lives under a bridge, despite making $200 a day. That's the other point; I don't think Finnick would ever comply with Nick's Schemes when he only gets about a fifth of the earnings despite doing at least half the work and having to do the baby act.
>>83811494
There's not really any evidence that Nick lives under a bridge. The bridge happens to be his favorite drinking spot.He might live in the abandoned factory where Wild Times would have been, though.
>>83797559
Suspiciously Specific Denial.
>>83810135
I wholeheartedly agree with what you said, but I think we are trailing off a bit here, the problem is that the crew working in the film didn't want to create a story set in a corrupt dystonia but, given the original prompt was to make a city shaped by animals who lived there instead of the classic cartoon of animals living in our world without a change, they wanted to create this city that the audience could love since the beginning of the film. And I forgot the rest of what I was going to say...
>>83799395
Winner winner, rabbit dinner.
>>83797752
>>83797966
I get the sense that they put so much thought into Wilde Times because it was the one bright spot in the movie that people were actually having fun working on. The rest of the movie was so bleak that everyone just wanted to doodle their ideas for an animal-themed amusement park. For the amount of concept work they put into that one scene, they could have done it three times over.
Every time someone started getting depressed during whatever part of the movie they were supposed to be working on, they'd go to their happy place and just make more Wild Times stuff. That's probably a big reason why the movie was so far behind schedule.
>>83810147
Can't be just me as I have been relatively inactive. Probably just a bunch of people who are using the same joke
>>83780933
It should definitely be in the film, but not have a plot focused on it, like in this movie we've got clawhauser sperging over Gazelle; it could be a random intimate hug or subtle kiss every now and then and one "I love you" right before or during the climax when they think they might just not make it.
>>83811407
>furry cult worships Byron as God
>Nick and Judy are their version of Jesus
>Byron actually opens the portal and summons the characters from the film
>"And now, we begin to cleanse the world."
>all the characters go out and hug every person they see, turning them into more cartoon anthropomorphized animals
>soon our world becomes Zootopia and Byron watches from atop his golden throne and smiles in approval
>>83811761
totally makes sense, these guys arent used to make depressing stuff
metaphorically: the movie was going to be a birthday cake maade ENTIRELY of dark chocolate
sure you can eat a cube , or even half a bar, but
a whole cake is inediblewild times was a kinder surprise egg hidden in the very middle of that cake
How differentbetterwould the story have been if Judy and Bellwether had given into the obvious sexual tension between them?
>>83811871
Clawhauser was romantically in love with Gazelle? He seemed more like a fan than someone who saw he as sexually attractive.
>>83812077
I'd have more scenes to wank to, that's for sure
>>83812149
I'm talking about the plot relevance, it was just a running gag that could be taken out or replaced without changing much in the film (other than the celebrity cameo's already short involvement)
>>83812149
>>83812231
Replace Clawhauser's obsession with Gazelle with anime waifus and he'd be a fairly unremarkable 4chan user.

>post-credits stinger shows them getting back to their apartment after a long assignment, opening the door to a kid greeting them as 'mom' and 'dad'.
>>83813267
I loved that scene. The little detail of the arrested wolf looking up to the cop briefly like "are you really just going to let this happen to me?"
But no, I think he's too social to be an anon. Most anons would keep their waifus to themselves while being bitter, cranky, and repressed like Bogo.
>>83813523

They probably wouldn't even rebel due to other life-related reasons they're too deep into and for general cowardness against armed-authority. I know Frozen made the big bucks, but I really hope Disney gives Zootopia the love it deserves. Sequels, shorts, comics. Shut up and take my money, Disney.

>>83816937
Is there anywhere I can buy some cutonium? Sounds like a good investment
>>83816607
To be fair, even though Nick was trying to make a profit off of Wild Times, the reason he wanted to build it in the first place was because he wanted a place where predators like him could feel free. It was his dream that he was desperate to make real. There was money involved and he was making a living off of it, but greed wasn't his motivation.
>>83816922
No way. Protozootopia doesn't loom over anything, its just sits quietly in the deleted scenes, art books, and interviews.
