Good evening owls of /co/,

LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN

in b4 downtime again

P.S. I'm finicky so I have to run it again from the top

I'm taking that as a challenge.

See you at Dallas Comic-con, Timothy.

Hey, if you like this, why not back John Ostrander's Kickstarter?

It's just weird to see some actual investigation nowadays, instead of magically knowing what's going on.

That was actually another reason why League of One was really good. Despite being a great Wondy story, Batman actually acted like a detective for once.

>>83699987
Yeah I was laughing about that to myself. Characters called Hexer Dusk? Hexer Sever? A group called the Dragon Clan? But it's Ostrander, so all of this stuff gets a pass. It already looks fun (loving radioactive hulk wife and weedy criminal boss, for instance) and it's got some similarities to gritty 2000AD-ish sci-fi I grew up with.
>>
>>83700082
awwwwwww yeah here we go with post-Soviet political action

Yeah, I wouldn't buy this premise from anybody but I see Ostrander associated with it and I am imagining that it will be pretty great

>>
>>83700158
Well, that only makes sense. The image of the ruling class wearing gaudy and elaborate costumes is outdated for several reasons. Not the least of which being that said finery is expensive, and probably paid for with taxes, so unless you want an uprising by peasants who see their hard earned money being squandered on frivolous luxuries, it's best to keep your ensemble simple.

Yeah, I really ought to do that, shouldn't I.
Although I feel like it's gonna be more like his Star Wars work than Suicide Squad.
That might just be because of Jan on draws, though.
>>
>>83700369
>The image of the ruling class wearing gaudy and elaborate costumes is outdated for several reasons.
You say that but, I mean, haute couture...

And rich people dress expensively and celebrities have to look impressive. Gaudiness and elaboration in the rich and ruling ain't dead yet. Though the King of Luxembourg, certainly, probably doesn't look as fancy as he might have several centuries ago.

>>
So, as I was saying last thread, I really think you ought to give Genealogy of the Holy War a try, I think you'd like it.
>>
>>83700605
This is proper Soviet thinking: if the soldier can't control his own direction, there's nothing for Count Vertigo to mess with. The real Molotov would have been proud.
>>
>>83700440
Well, yeah, obviously rulers are still going to dress like they're in charge, and the people wouldn't have it any other way. There's just a certain threshold is all. There's a reason most royals these days tend to wear just suits in the day to day and save the costumes for special events.
>>
>>83700660
Squad has to have some black humor along with the serious issues
>>
>>83700618
It's Cap's van so it would be a crying eagle IMO.
>>
>>83699986
>>mfw I can imagine the Claremont narrative boxes on top of this

Hey, lay blame where blame comes from. Lobdell is just aping from the guy he always has been.

We just read Iron Fist (thanks to PM-IF-Anon) and it was pretty heavily narrated.
>>
>>83700660
This is all hilarious.

>>
>>83700715
It's proper to distinguish between the two, Peak Claremont was better at it than Lobdell ever was.

>>83700756
Not that anon, but it's a Fire Emblem game and a fairly good one. I really didn't like the last FE game but kind of looking forward to playing Fates.
>>
>>83700715
Funnily enough, in the X-Storytime somebody posted the Scott/Madelyne wedding that Claremont wrote and the Scott/Jean wedding that Lobdell wrote, and Claremont's pretty much let the art speak for itself while Lobdell's was full of overwrought narration.

but nah, too much work
>>
>>83700824
I have zero faith in modern FE storytelling

Like, I shat on the Radiant duology hard back in the day, but the 3DS games are so juvenile I'd rather play something else
>>
>>83700860
If you like FFT and the FFTA games there are for sure FE games you would like.
>>
>>83700353
The Captain Amerivan is great. They need to bring that, and Steve Rogers being the artist for the in-universe Captain America comic book back.
>>
>>83700897
The last one was terrible in that department, yeah. Fates seems a little bit more adult? I guess I'll find out when I play it.

There's not really anything around just now that fills the gap there though, shit sucks.
>>
>>83700886
So like FF4 Hardtype hard? Grinding hard or "how the fuck do you even do this" hard? Hoshigami "enough factors of complexity make things effectively seem random" hard?
>>

Steve drawing the Cap book was one of my favorite things

The movie fucked up by not doing something like that for the poster.

'Course, that just means it's still available if they make a sequel.
>>
>>83700850
>how could such a pathetic neckbeard MRA writer drag such a strong independent lesbian through the mud like this?
>>
>>83700808
See, I wouldn't even mind the Poison Ivy League if they weren't trying to paint her as some kind of hero. She's fucking evil. Goodness knows I like me a bad girl, but I don't pretend they're aren't monsters. It's the willful delusion that's so irksome.

>>83700860
I like how she isn't at all surprised that Batman is just suddenly there.
>>
>>83700939
>>
>>83700939
FE4 (Genealogy) is about as tough as FF4 Hard; once you start playing conservatively, it starts making much more sense. You do have to play VERY conservatively. Good game overall, maybe the best in the storytelling department

FE5 is not made to be beatable and is 100% bullshit
>>
>>83700939
>"how the fuck do you even do this" hard
A little of this since there are no tutorials. But also hard in the sense that you have to be a genuinely good strategist to beat the game. It's well worth it though, since the characters are pretty likeable for the most part and the story is quite adult.
>>
>>83700970
I dunno, the charm of it is that it's comic art that looks like a movie poster. If it was for the movie, then it would just be a movie poster that looks like a movie poster.
>>
>>83700586
Wait, aren't Blue Trinity a bunch of busted ass junkies by this point?

Well, you need to remember that Imperial Russia thought of themselves as the successor to the Byzantines after the fall of Constantinople. They were super Orthodox, and had ties to Constaninople through the Varangians. St. Basil's was a meant to be a Russian Hagia Sophia.

It's certainly more natural than trying to recapture the era of the Moon landing and the then-unknown reaches of space, I'd more expect another nation to be ballsy with their space program and go Too Far.

Because that's about half of the problem, we're quite comfortable with space now.
