Microtransactions wont be that invasive! The loot crates will be tailored to your play experience, the more you play as The Flash, the more Flash gear you can unlock, etc..

Furthermore, unlike massively online games like Destiny or Overwatch, progression wont be exclusive to multiplayer and subject to balancing issues. You can take your time and have a nice casual experience building up your own superhero just by playing story mode, arcade mode, challenges, etc.

Remember those awesome toys from your childhood? Arctic Assault Batman, Desert Jihad Batman, Space Command Batman, Jungle Fever Batman, etc.? That was the inspiration for this fun rewarding OFFLINE experience. (And if you want to speed things up with microtransactions you can do that too...)

In fact, you can go online in the tournament mode with the base characters no problem!

Honestly I'm not immediately opposed to gear. If it makes your character slightly faster, or stronger, or have more health or something at the expense of another stat, I'm fine with that. It sounds like a practical way to basically make a bunch of clone characters like Ken, Dr. Mario, etc. without sacrificing a lot of development time to do so.

But I think actually having to level up a character in a fighting game is retarded. A fighting game should be about skill, not grinding for experience points.

And while I wont write off the armor feature the micro transactions will almost definitely ruin it. I wonder if injustice 2 will become a pay to win game.
