Any time she kills someone it's immediately clear to everyone (the reader included) that she has absolutely no idea what she's doing. A blind monkey could kill some people with a semi-automatic and a knife. Just because she takes out some random nobodies it doesn't mean she's skilled. Just stupid lucky. Plot luck is her superpower.

There was no training, and nobody said she needs training. She decided that out of the blue when she heard she needed to fight a sword guy. What happened after that and the Sentinal thing, though, was they told her not to go after someone leagues out of her depth, because it's established the guys she ends up going after are a step or five above some random snake demon and nameless powerless thugs. Alien weapon dealers are a bit more high-tier. And once she goes after them anyway, she's not even the one who takes them out, it's MODOK's super-mook. And she just gets lucky and shoves him in a furnace and steals the credit.

MODOK then hires her because he thinks she actually has some skill, because he doesn't have any reason to believe otherwise, because he never actually saw her fight. Neither had anyone else until now, and Batroc's calling her on it, because she almost botched a mission by being full of shit. They're not threatening to train her, Batroc's threatening to out her to MODOK and thereby get her killed.
