most cartoons about war suffer from not committing. They try to dip into themes of war, and those parts are usually really good, but then they try to splice in saturday morning cartoon shit.

Transformers Animated was the worst offender by far. It had episodes dealing with things like the Autobots building a giant sentient war machine and then making it mentally challenged so it wont question orders or switch sides, and then the next week it would be "Optimus battles professor princess!"
