That's the thing... scenes, I can (andwill) do.... but comics,I cant.... I'm somewhat of a perfectionist? If you can call it that... I'm still mostly working of of references, I cant seem to bring myself to cartoon-ify anything for comics.... I just have a tendency to make things look as close to original as possible. And, I spend hoursand sometimes daysmaking one drawing.... so a decent comic would take me months.... I'm getting faster though, and I'm beginning to draw characters with minimal reference. So, hopefully I'll have oc for everyone in due time.

>>83407500
Actually no, it's a lighthearted comic about a girl and a unicorn or some shit.
My thoughts on the original universe are as follows, and this is not just for Zootopia 1.0 but any cartoon marketed towards kids:
The world in which we live is a fucked up place.
People can be capable of such appalling cruelty and apathy. So many things don't make sense and so many obstacles to even basic humane privileges may seem insurmountable for so many. Have you ever had to carry a 40 pound writing desk on your head for 20 miles a day in sweltering sub-saharan heat without water braving random radical islamist attacks just so you could go to school? So you could possibly SOMEDAY make it out of this hellhole cruel fate deemed you worthy of being born in?
But this is the world in which we live. Don't like it? You can always put a bullet through your head. But if you want to live in this world you have to learn to search for happiness out of your own will. Learn to see the beauty through all of the shit and find the will to reach for it. It won't be easy. Nothing is going to be handed to you on a silver platter. And in the end even with every ounce of will you can muster there's never a guarantee. But it's the battle for your own passions that makes life worth living.
I feel like this is something the universe of Zootopia 1.0 had great potential to convey. And I very much feel that this message is of great importance to kids. The world isn't a perfect place. The sooner you learn that, the better.
>>83406584

Just about all accounts I've read from past Disney employees working the suits, it's apparently a difficult but very gratifying job. They just get into the mood of things, have fun with it, and really enjoy brightening up the kids around them.
>>83408790
>>83408860
The Nice Guys was great and really funny. Gosling and Crowe had excellent chemistry together, and they had nice interactions with Gosling's daughter. The plot was bizarre and convoluted and felt like more of an homage to noir PI/buddy cop movies, but it was worth it just to watch the two of them bumbling around 70s LA for 2 hours.
>>83409119
Huh, fair enough. Bet it gets incredibly hot in there though
>>83409077
I'm pretty sure it's mandatory for these guys to be completely lit before putting on the suit.
>>83408689
Rule of thumb with Disney mascot characters is that shorter characters are always played by women.
>>83401000
Why are children so thoroughly shit 100% of the time
>>83409077
You think that's embarrasing? Check vid related.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ6Ui8nvZNw
>>83409194
Probably. Been a while since I last read about it, but the inevitable heat was one of the main difficulties of the job. That, and reckless kids or obnoxious adults who try to grab and tug at their 'heads'. It's apparently quite heavy, and having somebody trying to abruptly pull it around can cause a lot of neck strain. It's also why these mascots always have handlers following them around, anytime they're mingling with the visitors, like in >>83408674 and >>83408679 - (The dude walking right behind Nick and Judy). It's the handlers responsibility to make sure none of the visitors get too rough or grabby, since the mascots can't always see it coming with their restricted peripheral vision in those suits.

>>83408317

I just realized, how does Judy have her ears up here?
>>83408502
I would make them repair it, follow their progress and instruct if needed.
I will then compliment them on a job well done and smash it to pieces right in front of the little shit.
>>83409377
I don't remember about the pay grade at all, though I faintly recall it being alright. Disney apparently treats it's park employees well, and the requirements for becoming a suited mascot are supposedly very quite high. Given that one of the most vital features of those large Disney parks is to foster a convincingly fun, friendly and 'magical' atmosphere for the guests, employees who are going to be interacting with them are supposedly held to very high standards. A lot of protocols and rules to remember and follow, presumably.
For most ex-mascots, apparently the reason they eventually stop isn't out of job dissatisfaction, but simply fatigue. It's physically very demanding, and after a couple of years, most of them eventually feel tired enough to willingly step down.

>>83409759
Seems to be next weekend in the UK. End of an era, but we always have the memories...
>>83409764
Yeah kinda like the many clips and trailers showing Nick fiddling with his smart phone yet he isn't seen with one in the movie.
>>83409764
They probably wanted her ears be more prominent and active in the trailer, and the hat was maybe thought to have convenient slits for the ears to push through back then. The movie did go through a lot of changes and refining, right up to the very end, so who knows. Maybe they missed it, maybe they decided for a slight retcon on the hat.
>>83409770
And the blu-ray officially out next week. I guess they calculated the release date based on how long it would take for the movie to slide off the top ten list.

Most of the costume performers at Disneyland are female. There is a height requirement as well the suits are pretty snug. Believe the actor can't be any taller than 5'3 . Even that is pretty tiny for a manlet.

Actually, now that I look at it, while it's getting dropped from most of the big chain theaters, independent screens are picking it up all over the place. Tickets cost $4-$2 at most of them, and the market has suddenly opened up.
>>83407859
Would've been harder if it wasn't hollow, though. More pieces to look after that inevitably would have broken off.
>>83410033
Does those count in the box office?
>>83410060
Sure. With ticket prices that low, they won't bring in all that much money, but they're the kind of places that are much much cheaper than actually buying a DVD and you can bring all the kids to a show even on a tight budget.

Watched Zootopia for the first time last night after finally learning there are bluray rips now.
I really liked it, well done animation and a fun story overall. Good jokes and the only real complaint was the nonstop Shakira cunnylicking that was honestly cringe worthy. Though I called Bellweather being the Big Bad as soon as I met her though, even if it was a little irrational on my part.
Judy and Nick had top-tier banter too. I loved Nick's voice. And Judy's crying scene was really well done. Just a fantastic movie over all.

That's pretty much it. The government is determined to stay relevant in an age where information is getting harder to control. They cling to the old days when Mao was in control and everything its people knew came from a reliable source(them).
This has been a long battle between Chinese and its government. They let the people have their foreign shows and films, then find excuses to take it away, citing it as Western Propaganda or disrupting the 'harmony' of their country. That's when you start seeing bootlegs like the Gumball ripoff or the Adventure Time knockoff: the government says its people aren't allowed to watch the original anymore so the people just make an original in China that loopholes in the already stupid laws can't forbid.

no, I'm sure the movie would be great and level of details would be as stunning, but between being feeling like a miserable piece of shit and uplifted and motivated after leaving the cinema I'd choose the latter.

hahah fuck you furries

Good point, guess I just prefer the feels-coasters and seeing guys in hopeless scenarios try to prevail (District 9, Gladiator and Cast Away are among my favorites, for example).

Go watch it anon! I guess the Kragle reveal won't be as funny but it's still fantastic
>>83415117
That's a perfectly legitimate vibe to indulge in, as far as I'm concerned. Stories revolving around protagonists who are in a crapsack world, where nearly all their battles are uphill and handled by the skin of their teeth... Or maybe a setting not that bleak and miserable, but one where something vital at it's core is definitely broken, and the world will remain maligned until it is fixed against all odds.
The creators did mention that protozootopia was "an emotional roller coaster", and it's not hard to see why. We were almost certainly going to witness deeper pits of sadness and despair, which only means that the peaks of joy and relief would've ended up all the more high and triumphant. Honestly, I think the catharsis would've been something to behold.
It's not a shame that the plot and premise was eventually revised; I think what we got in the end was a more fitting story. All the same though, I would've loved to see how protozootopia would've turned out if they took it all the way.

Summed it up rather nicely; I'd like to see proto-Zootopia too, but not exactly at the expense of the contemporary-fitting bun story we got.
Maybe also merge specific elements like Nick's backstory/dreams, cut characters and maybe a fear of a potential "shock collar bill" or something into a sequel (though the plot can be something entirely else). That Animalia climax with the rabid preds seemed cool too.

Don't even think that there's a point of these articles anymore. With the shite that Disney are putting sequels out for, we know that Zootopia will get one 100%.

I'd be up for a TV show over a movie. I mean, the world is vast and unexplored. You can do a lot more in a show that a 2-3h movie
>>83417060
but it'd look unpolished, like this.
i'm up for shorts and sequel.

I'm wary of CGI TV Shows, particularly shows made in the wake of a movie, because the quality drop is inevitable and very painfully apparent after the visual glory that's the feature film. That, and the quality of the writing can be very shaky if the producers aren't meticulous about it, which tends to hurt characterization more than develop it. I wouldn't want a Zootopia TV show; I just fear it'd likely be a disappointment.
That being said, 2D animation seems to have gotten much better nowadays, and much more smooth and streamlined with a proper computer-assisted production. If Zootopia had to get a TV series, I'd honestly prefer they went the stylized 2D route instead.
But in a perfect world, full-feature sequels and shorts.

Were these the original final voices or just placeholder tests?
There's always money in the Lego store.
>>83419333
Storyboard screenings like that are usually just internal testing, so placeholders are the common and practical choice, instead of expensive VAs.

>“We will have to take on [the question], what is Nick and Judy’s relationship like?” opines Moore. “And somebody’s going to be disappointed. It will either be romantic, or it will stay a friendship, and those who ship [them] are going to go crazy, and those who just want them to be friends will say, ‘Why did you make it a romance?’ So we need to gird ourselves for that.”
I think go crazy is putting it lightly
