Are you joking? Magical babies being born from plants is a universally reoccurring fantasy concept. Being born from peaches specifically are pulled straight from the legend of Momotaro.
Not to mention their entire society is closely tied to plantlife to the point where their planet is named literally Flora. No shit it was a literal story.

It was just a fucking tree. A big tree, but still a tree. Here's a fun fact for ya, there's legends about humans being born from clay and shit but that doesn't make them true
>b-but magic
Why does this make a difference?! The existence of magic in a setting doesn't make every single fantastic claim true. Morbi ultimately did make it true but that's neither here nor there.

Holy shit. Why are you having such a hard accepting I don't like a thing in canon and would have preferred if it wasn't?

Frankly, I don't understand your qualm with the concept in the first place.
What makes it inherently more unusual than stars that give people random magical powers?
>>
>>83333925
not necessarily, if you go apeshit on the fantasy made-up shit and branch off beyond just "alternate timeline set on a totally nominal terrestrial planet"

you can justify just about anything provided you have an interesting enough world to accommodate the idea
>>
>>83333959
So it's just bunch of samefags who can't take some criticism? Sad, but I believe it.

>>

Not the same anon, but honestly so far it sounds like you are bashing the whole 'tree of life' thing for no reason other than "I don't like it."

And seriously, the comic's world has all kinds of crazy shit, so why this one specific detail bothers you so much?

Yes and the author has done a fantastic job setting the rules for this setting. Of all the things Morbi does wrong, world-building isn't one of them. You're pretty much whining because the story isn't what you want, not criticizing it because of its flaws.

I'm imagining a sort of dandelion-like effect with that, where a handful of babies rise from the splatter. It would be a great way for two creatures to quickly create many, like for a race of warriors that knows nothing but combat even in love. It sounds painful, but it would make a great spectacle for a comic panel.

On fucking what? It is a fantasy world that works on its own rules, not *our* world you dense motherfucker. It has absolutely NO obligation to be like our world.

The fuck are you talking about? The myth part is Poppy's version. That Didelphi wanted to grant mortals free will. The other myth is the "Traitor Goddess" narrative that has been hinted at but never confirmed. The trees of life and the fruit children are proof that the basic premise - gods created mortals from fruit trees - is an absolute fact in their reality. This is like being fucking pissed off that animals actually exist on this planet because they are often part of our own creation myths.

I didn't skip it, you idiot. The FACT that fruit babies exist isn't a fantastic claim -in this setting- because it's FUCKING TRUE and it has been since the very begining. You and ONLY YOU claim that it isn't and haven't given any reason as to why.
>>
>>83334814
The fuck does that have to do with anything? You're pissed off about the fruit trees. They didn't come out of nowhere, they were on the first fucking page. They exist, and they were set up. Why the fuck does this bug you?
>>
>>83334883
You're not being mean, WE are being mean. You're being retarded.
>>
>>83334835
Even fantasy needs grounding you goddamn tard, it doesn't matter if it's like our world or not. Otherwise you might as well be writing Ax Cop

>>83334853
The hell are you even talking about? Just because they have stories doesn't make them real. And what does animals existing in our mythology have to do with goddamn anything?
>>
>>83334485
>It devalues the setting and turns it into fucking Wonderland.
It doesn't because the comic actually explains how shit works, rather than just going "its magic, i don't have to explain shit".

>>83334759
>Setting need to be grounded
Yes, every setting needs to have its rules, and morbi created rules and limitations for it, and added explanations (exposition or written) for the rest of the stuff.

The only "fucking wonderland" here is your damn mind, that can't seem to get a goddamn grip.

>>83334883
I don't have any way to prove that they are samefags, really. Its still suspicious though.

Both sort of sound/look like the way "fruit babies are fucking retarded" guy writes though.
>>
>>83334975
Animals are featured in our myths because animals exist.

Child-bearing fruit trees are featured in their myths because child-bearing fruit trees exist.

This is not a difficult concept to understand.
>>
>>83334975
Poppy has its grounding. The first thing the story tells us is "we were descended from magical trees created by the gods." Since Poppy takes place in a totally alien fantasy setting, either the literal or metaphorical explanations are equally plausible.
I don't care if you can suspend your disbelief for whatever reason, but that's entirely on you, because the story goes out of its way to establish internally consistent rules about its setting and magic.
>>
>>83334890
>>83334894
It was true LATER in canon. Not during the first goddamn page. Morbi has the ultimate say in what goes in and what doesn't, he put that in and while I don't agree with it it's still canon

>>83334918

See >>83333573
Christ, it's like talking to a wall
>>
>>83334759
Your logic is all fucked up. The basic premise of "zero indication" doesn't hold up to the actual pages of the comic. You just made an incorrect assumption based on whatever preconceived notions you've developed from outside sources. Your notions were wrong in this case. That doesn't devalue anything.
>>
>>83334975
>Even fantasy needs grounding you goddamn tard
Name something that isn't grounded within the setting itself. Everything has been logically explained within the limitations of the world presented.
>>
>>83334975
Just because they have stories doesn't make them false.

It's entirely your fault for assuming that.
>>
>>83334975
And Poppy is pretty grounded, specially on how it handles the Life Trees. Why aren't you complaining about Lucky Stars that do actually run on "it's magic I ain't gotta explain shit"?
>>
>>83335055
>It was true LATER in canon
It was always fucking true. You're just arbitrarily re-writing shit in your own head. Why aren't you pissed that Morbi decided, completely randomly and based on nothing, that Possums die at 30 because they have no magic? By your twisted fucking logic that was never something Morbi intended from the start, it never fucking existed until he randomly inserted it at the end of Chapter 2.

Explain why that doesn't bother you.

It was always canon that life trees/fruits were a literal part of the setting's history.
A couple elements in the intro are embellished in some ways, but none of it was ever metaphorical, at any point.
I'm honestly not sure what your problem is with my magical fruit babies, but I also don't really care.
>>
>>83335304
>NO IT WASN'T. Give one example outside of the origin myth that confirms it being true to canon
That's ridiculous. Basically you're saying "THAT'S NOT TRUE BECAUSE I DIDN'T INTERPRET IT AS TRUE". You interpreted wrong. Maybe if Poppy said something like "By the way, this is a bunch of bullshit" you'd have a leg to stand on. But the story was corroborated by the world which was corroborated by the story. It's all consistent.

As a small concession, it actually could have been interpreted either way because we didn't know shit, but when we DID know shit, it shouldn't be a mindblowing leap in logic that it's true. Because the evidence of it being true was there all along, it just wasn't explicitly stated until it was plot-relevant.
>>

its not like they just pop out of fruits cause two people go "I WISH I HAD A BABY"
they have to donate their blood and have it put in the fruit, they have to wait for the fruit to ripen (it was a big point in this chapter that Vix circumvented that) a number of complications can happen like air pockets deputizing the baby, the fruit falling and smashing on the ground, ect ect.

My favorite character to draw in the comic is Petunia, because she's both simple to draw and almost constantly prone to overreacting with her expressions.
My favorite character I wasn't able to fit into the final version of the comic was Hellter Skelletor, a rock and roll skeleton dragon who acted as the grim reaper when the series was less focused. Pretty much everyone else I had planned made it in intact.
I have the entire comic's plot figured out at this point, but I write the final scripts and layouts themselves during the breaks between chapters.

Can they do video calls? Can they do holograms or even remote tactile feed? Can messages be recorded, stored, kept on queue or ignored? How does atmospheric pressure or acceleration affect teleportation? Does teleporting from a low place to a high one create a vortex? Does warping from a high orbit spot to a low orbit one create weird gravitational effects? Does warping from a moving train to a still place makes the subject carry the inertia over? Where does the energy go? We saw that light can go through portals, does this mean light can be made to change speeds?

Bed room. I live in an apartment. I keep my computer chair against the wall, and I've scraped the paint off the wall behind me.
>>
>>83337703

OK what price range are you looking for?
>>
>>83337820
Between 0$ and No Dollars?

I'm a poor fuck. I'm lead to believe that paint is expensive, and if I'm going to "patch" a section, I may as well paint my whole fucking room, because it's impossible to match old dried paint. I'm just assuming I need to paint my whole room. I haven't determined my dimensions yet. Honestly, I couldn't even guess. I need a proper tape measure to get the height and widths.
>>
>>83336806
>I've seen a couple of little things guessed here and there

I know I was the first person to figure out Poppy's 7 candles were to count the last years of her life. I thought it was because her bad heart would give out, but still I figured it out.
>>
>>83334196
Also, many are probably familiar with her reputation as a person known in the "disappearance" of two notorious mobsters.

I mean, if the head of the criminal underworld considers you a threat and has a non-interference policy, she's a known danger.
>>
>>83336524
hey morbo, if you're still here: is 30 years a hard age limit for an opossum? Are there any who have lived longer, or is that, like, the longest any opossum has lived?
>>
>>83337994

Well sadly I can't give you paint for free, however I do have very cheap options.

You could get a bucket of Glidden paint for under 20 bucks, but you'd have to tint it, which means you won't be able to return it if you leave the store with it. I usually recommend Glidden for cheap jobs anyway.

Otherwise a gallon of our "oops" paint, if you don't mind premade colors, is literally 9 bucks, sans tax, but is also nonrefundable upon purchase. Our major paints all come with paint and primer, and are water based latex.

And to stay on topic, imagine taking care of friedrich when he's very sick, but he's upset because he feels he has a duty to protect flora.
>>
>>83334663
>Or do you think DBZ and Jojo have the deepest set of rules imaginable for any universe?
Pretty sure that would be Tenchi Muyo.

Which Poppy is actually a lot like in many regards, its just that instead of being part of the royal family of space Japan you are born in a specific time to get superpowers, and the racism element is brought up constantly rather than three times (the Juraian racism towards humanity and resentment all humans are Jurai royalty).
>>
>>83337994

Oh, and a gallon covers approx. 400 Sq feet.
>>
>>83337491
Are you sure we have the authority to give him that power?

It may be too much, and we have no guarantee he won't give that ability to others without us knowing it!

Let's just send him a fruit basket when his soul is crushed beneath trolling and hope the vitamin q will revive him.
>>
>>83338322

Well, in real life there's people with strangely legitimate credentials otherwise who think octopi might be either aliens or simply influenced by alien DNA somehow since they are so radically different right down to the genetic level from just about everything else we know of that has existed on Earth.

Clearly, they are tentacle alien druids from Sky Henge.
>>
>>83338436
This doesn't sound unreasonable.
>>
>>83338277
i bet its a heart thing, that and a lack of applicable medicines and healing means that theres a rather strict limit on how long they live.
however with pharmaceuticals like kit develops i bet that that limit is beginning to stretch, poppy herself admits that shes lived as long as she has thanks to Kits pills, no doubt her strenuous life style and body bulking caused her already short time limit to shrink
calling that wither Poppy or Lily or both get non magical artificial hearts

I also wouldn't mind an uncensored shot of mary from the update. Or if a drawfriend were feeling charitable, the two of them drunkenly making love.

By the way, has it ever been mentioned what specific species halia is? And where did the idea that she was transgender come from?
>>

Does everyone really just have multiboobs now?

I mean I'm fine with multiboobs but I thought the rule was the roundness doesn't really start developing unless the girl is pregnant or has had children before. I thought cats and other mammals had several nipples but they don't become mounds until that.

Does this mean Mary is with or had a child or does this just mean this rule doesn't really apply in Eggton?

I'm not against it. I just don't like the idea of Mary having a kid.
>>
>>83341250

Multiple breasts isn't even a good adaptation for a bipedal and intelligent species, since we test for a K-Selection strategy.

Morbi keeping realistic brood sizes in an advanced setting with no disease or warfare means that Flora should be suffering from severe resource competition.

No. If they lived in a post-scarcity society, there would be no war, and it would be an egalitarian democracy.

There is class stratification, and aristocracy, organized crime, and an entire species that is disenfranchised.

Magic may look great in Flora, but it hasn't solved all of their problems.
>>
>>83341757
Well.

Admit ably my last one wasn't that good.

I had some really good ones earlier but I forgot them.

Artificial scarcity, then. Besides, Flora is a death world and that keeps the population numbers in check despite their advanced tech. Safe living space is probably at premium.

No offense, but I genuinely don't think the Friedrich you want will ever be compatible with the Friedrich that is. He's not wrestling with old war demons anymore. He doesn't bottle up his emotions or feel the need to put on a mask to do his job. He's just naturally blunt and stoic, and utterly disinterested in people beyond his charges and the few loved ones he lets into his life.
He's got his wife, he's got his kids, and he's got his orders. That's Friedrich.

I am REALLY trying not to intentionally make OOC nonsense with your characters, I just like to try and give a reasonable plot for why the characters are doing the do. I try my hardest to keep to the original content, with only a few small divergences when necessary.

However I do appreciate how you're talking to me instead of going on a witch hunt like Rick, I really respect your humor and attitude towards my work.

Given how everyone uses magic so much that Poppy struggles in life because she's restricted to things that actually use real principals I wouldn't use the world 'grounded.'

I mean there is consistency and an internal logic, but common logic is kinda treated like a villain of some sort. Kind of an appeal really.

I never stopped doing it myself. The people whose coloring I liked were either busy or hard to get a hold of, and the people who made themselves easily available didn't have very good eyes for color.
The simplest solution was to keep doing it myself.

We were never really "in contact," we just like each other's work. I don't think he currently shares messenger information with non-Japanese speaking contacts just because he can't get past the language barrier. I assume he's just been busy with some kind of job he's under NDA for or something.

Speaking of which, at some point, I'd like to look into the possibility of being able to get properly translated scripts of Poppy produced for various regions. I can't imagine how much of the plot Sho is actually able to parse as it is, but I guess that just speaks for how interesting my comic must be from a design standpoint.

MOrbi this was asked earlier, but is 30 a hard limit on Possums? and if so why? is it partially due to lack of non magical healthcare that so limits their life span?
>>

It's a hardish limit. Like, you could go a couple of months over, but at least one, if not several, of your organs would probably have shut down by then.
>>
>>83367959

Do Possums get feebler the closer they get to 30, or are they healthy their entire lives?

There's probably a limit that pills can do to extend an opossums lifespan, especially when at 30 that's when their organs basically begin to shut down.

Someone like Poppy I think wouldn't want to keep doing medical treatments to extend her life. She likely wants to go out when it's time for her to go out.

We have explicit confirmation from the author calling him, and I quote, "the most heterosexual man on Flora."
Doesn't get more open-and-shut than that.

As opposed to other fans who call him a hack for Queen Vix's lucky star or the Ewe-La-La arc symbology?

The writefag is annoying but there are worse people on this thread, at least he's polite.

>polite
He's passive aggressive as fuck and can't go ten posts without trying to advertise himself.

His posts aren't full of profanity, but I'd hardly call him "polite".

His presumption and then passive-aggressive reaction to being told his work is sub-par is far from polite.

Christ, you homoshippers are, and I try not to use this particular bit of slang, salty as fuck.

It's just embarrassing.

You don't usually accompany genuine compliments with backhanded remarks like "and if you want writing and character advice, hit me up"
>>

This whole comic is nothing but homoshipping...

The comic makes fun of homoshipping with petunia
