I literally did not understand the appeal of this comic the first time I read it when I was 13-15. It was so obvious that Thor was telling the truth and it upset me to have everyone trying to take him down. I almost quit reading comics because all I was reading was this, Millar UXM, USM, and Bendis Daredevil. It seemed like everything was so cynical and dark and I was turned off by it. Reading it now it's actually really damn good and I shake my head at my 13-15 year old self.

Thanks for storytiming! I haven't read this since it first came out, back when I had a Marvel subscription and would get each issue in the mail. The last issue was delayed so long that they actually gave me a complimentary year of subscription to Ultimates 3 which was absolute garbage.

I like that Loeb legitimized the Defenders. I hate what Millar did with some of my favorite characters
