So, I really enjoy the art of Tradd Moore. But Sadly until now he only worked on Luther Strode and Ghost Rider.
So i come here to ask, are there any other artists with a similar art style? Especially in the way they illustrate motion and force. Any art where you can not only see, but also FEEL whats going on.
I am just a sucker for those extremely overexaggerated motions and proportions.

try Ryan Ottley's stuff if you're looking for a more traditional take on the overexaggerated action stuff.
Tradd Moore's particular brand of heavily stylized motion linework is pretty uncommon. To my knowledge he's the only one that does what he does (while having it still look good.)

thanks man, i will check it out.
Another Artist who does this really well is ITAGAKI Keisuke, the author of the Baki Mangas.
>>83280631
He holds his pencil weird.
Maybe that helps.

That awful anatomy, how can anyone read this?
james harren
>>83284027
reminds me of the stokoe claw
>>83285035
Fucking hell someone cloned me. I have slightly more hair on my head but that scares me so damned much!
>>83285121

maybe both of you can finish orc stain in the next decade
>>83284839
The superhumans in Baki have their own anatomy.
>>83284839
>muh anotomy
>what is art
fuck off.
>>83284027
How does that even work
>>83285177
I haven't drawn since I was a kid but I was able to create a copy of anything in front of me.
I need an inexpensive hobby anyways, do you know where I could start.
>>83284839
what are you talking about? this ist totally what humans look like.
>But seriously thats exactly what i am looking for. It does not have to look real. Its all about showing the Motion and Power, even by totally deforming the characters.
>>83285346
Put far too much pressure on your pinky holding the pencil.
Then draw.
>>83285478
What the ...
Is this his hand? Jesus...
>>83285585
>>83281939
Yeah i realy like his Invincible and Brit chapters.
If i am not mistaken he also did a real great one for B.R.P.D.
>>83285473
What manga is this?
>>83286001

His body makes me sad. Poor guy should exercise someday.

If you think anatomy is the god of art you'll never have a judgement of art worth listening to.
>>83286760
Anatomy aside there's nothing great about guys in stiff action poses in a sea of blank space.
>>83286108
thats from "Baki, Son of Ogre". Its the 3rd Manga in the series,
>>83286875
You have to see the whole chapter, There is always a buildup and than a stop frame for most punches.
I can understand you if you say it looks like crap. It really does. But the artstyle is extremely expressive. You can really feel the impact.
>>83287072
And thats what i like about it.
>>83287261
It looks aweful, But feels awesome.
A guilty pleasure.
>>83286760
It's the "god of art" when it comes to drawing humans well.
You might as well defend Liefeld while you're at it.

I know I said anatomy aside but if they didn't look like a bunch of lumpy masses of elongated flesh this would be better. And I say that because:
1. The poses themselves would have more energy in them if the body flowed with them instead of constantly jutting outward. Then he wouldn't have to rely on an overabundance of action lines.
2. It's pretty hard to discern these are even supposed to be people at times. Maybe anatomy isn't "the god of art" but its at least a good priest.
>>83287416
>pretty hard to discern these are even supposed to be people at times
not that anon but half the point IMO
>>83287311
Reminds me of aeon flux or the Alexander animation.
>>83287416
>>83287467
You totally have a point.
But i do think alot of the energy comes from the overexaggerated anatomy and impossible poses.
Do you have an example for an comic with strong energy in their action while keeping the characters realistic? Whould be interesting to compare.

>I need an inexpensive hobby anyways, do you know where I could start.
Go read 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' by Betty Edwards and do the exercises.

too bad rumble is so boring
the art is goat
>>83280631
There's A LOT of manga artists that do this.
The dude that does Baki the Grappler has a similar style.
Black Lagoon has some vague similarities in the gunfights.
Masamune Shirow kinda somewhat has elements of that to his style. Check out Appleseed, Dominion, and Ghost in the Shell.
Black Joke has hardcore crazy action scenes.
Trash might be borderline.
Deathtopia maybe slightly.
For western stuff there's Officer Downe and some of Frank Quitely (to a degree, especially in Jupiter's Legacy).

i'm very depressed James Harren isn't doing Arcudi's final BPRD arc
