I just saw the premier of it. I thought it was pretty good not super great.
>>
>>83204063
Same. Super cheesy - probably the cheesiest x-film yet - but it was enjoyable. Definitely glad I saw it high.

Manlet Apocalypse
>>
>>83204612
Is there a reason they changed the relationships of some of the characters? It threw me off a couple of times
>>
Because it's really bland and middling.

Massive in scale, tiny in scope.

They even tell the audience flat out "you're watching the weakest part of this trilogy" with that Star Wars joke.
>>
>>83204990
QSilver scene was the best one. Movie was a little bit of a let down...

>>
>>83203746
I enjoyed parts of it, the young X-Men were great. Cyclops was awesome. Fights were decent. DoFP was better though.
That whole scene where Apocalypse launches the nukes is fucking INTENSE. So was the Phoenix scene.
Also Rose Byrne is cute af she was in Neighbors 2 this month also
>>
>>83205260
>that Star Wars joke
That fucking got me, if only they knew

>>83205311
Yeah what the fuck was up with her in the movie, she had literally nothing to do
>>
Was it only released in the U.S. today? It's ok. Better than X3 and Wolverine: Origins. It's really awful compared to DoFP or X2 tho. I enjoyed seeing the kids take on the roles. The Jackman cameo is unnecessary but cool reference of the source material.
>>
>>83205467

Her scenes got cut mostly. Fucking stupid as they put her all over marketing plus it's now the 4th X Men movie she has been in and had barely any screen time.
>>
>>83205525
lol what marketing? are you high
>>
>>83205364
That scene was brilliant. Not only because it was crazy intense and the least hammy Apocalypse is in the entire film.

Also a pretty clever way to take nukes off the table so the final battle has a logical reason to be mutant on mutant and easily avoid the cliche of "we need to convince the government that we can win without nukes" that was already done in First Class anyway

So did Caliban fucking die? He stole his scenes. Apocalypse made it seem like he was using Cal to locate the Horsemen and I figured he'd get to be a Horseman too...
>>
>>83203746
It's not out in America yet. Seeing it saturday.
>>
It had some dope scenes, but it could've been better
I actually liked Apocalypse himself a lot, and the movie was visually impressive.

However, this board is not intended for the discussion of live action movies
>>

>>

>>
>>83203746
Just saw it a few hours ago. It was good, not great but i enjoyed it. Aside from the Quicksilver scenes Apocalypse was my favorite part of the movies.
>>
I already saw the Sweet Dreams scene on the internet, so no need to pay for a ticket.
>>
>>83205467
Can someone share what the Star Wars joke was?
>>
There was some great scenes but man. That was a rushed mess and a total clusterfuck.

>Jubilee is literally just edited out.

They don't even waste the time to bullshit a reason for her not being in the movie.

When Striker's taskforce shows up after the school blow up. They gas the kids and take the adults.Jubilee is in the debris hiding with Nightcrawler, Jean and Scott she just wakes up with the rest of the kids on the field.
>>
>>83205998
Jubilee, Cyclops and Jean came out of a cinema talking about which Star Wars movie was the best, Jubilee says it's Empire Strikes back, Scott replies that "without the original there are none of the others" to which Jean chimes in that "I think we can all agree that the third is always the worst"
>>
>>83205998
Jubilee an cyclops were talking after they saw return of the Jedi. Jubilee said that the second movie, empire, was better, darker, and more complex. Cyclops said the first was better and that there wouldn't be a series without it. Jean chimed in and said "at least we can all agree the third one was the worst". The scene is just a little joke about the original X-men movies.
>>
>>83206074
Wooooooow. Shade at X3 while being completely oblivious to the fact that this one is a third installment. Someone done goof'd.
>>
>>83205311
Criminally underused. There is not even a scene in a record store.

Way too much CGI and no fun allowed.
>scene where they're looking for magneto
>apocalypse pimping his riders
>magneto standing by himself and talking with xavier
>oh shit that's actually some nice scenography or whatever
>apocalypse hijacks the call

But the quicksilver scene was nice.
>>

>>
>>83207111
X-Men and Civil War makes sense to have people sad.
In one, they are mutants disliked by everyone, and the other one it's friends fighting against friends.

In BvS everyone is sad because they wanted to make a dark movie for the sake of it being dark.
>>
>>83207071
When Apocalypse hi-jacks the call and says some shit to Xavier he looked directly at the camera it was kinda neat.

It was good, it wasn't great, but it was good. I think the script really hampered it but the cast did a good job with what they had. It could have done without Lawrence looking like she didn't want to be there the entire time though.

Dunno, she sure didn't react to strongly when she learned Charles was about to telepathically track down the most wanted man in the world.

Which reminds me, why does everyone decide Magneto gets off scott free with killing something along the lines of several thousand to several million people? is it just because he decided to throw bits of a dead Cairo at his former genocidal boss for a bit after flip flopping on his "killing people is the best way to achieve my goals" stance for the 3rd time.

Does the CIA agent feel no obligation to report mankind's greatest mass murderer to her superiors?

Does Charles not worry about the legitimacy of his pro peace plans being called into question if he is found to have been harboring said mass-murderer?
>>
I went and saw it tonight to an empty theater..felt pretty crazy. And then the small.amount of people didn't wait till the end to see the sinister anouncment!the fuck is wrong with geeks these days
>>
>>83205188

>>
>>83208248
Duhhh, she ends up having a kid with Xavier and runs a school in Europe for the super tucked up mutants. They have a son. He kills like everybody and is a early bad guy in the ultimate x men.
>>
>>83208374
To be fair you could hear the news say even magneto fought against him, so they might have just ruled it off as him being controlled.

They never said he wasn't still wanted though, and he left the school at the end. So it's not like there hiding him
>>
>>83205598

Trailers, pics, the viral video promoting it.. Are you high?
>>
>>83205749

I know for a fact her mall scenes got cut. This one not being there is especially heart breaking.
>>
>>83208407
Why is it that about every third person that Xavier is very close with go on a murder spree?

>>83208421
Someone finding out they were harboring him for any amount of time would put a quick end to Xavier's hope that his school and the X-men would be a symbol for peace.

It'd be like if we learned that doctors without borders had Osama chill with them for a couple weeks right after 9/11 because their founder was a pal of his.
>>
very disappointing movie, i went in expecting a ton of mutant action

instead i got bullshit drama and maybe 10 minutes total of cool action
>>
>>83208386
>I went and saw it tonight to an empty theater..
I went opening night and it was half-empty.
>>
>>83208407

The movies are tracking closer to 616 continuity. She has the son with someone other than Charles. Charles may also have a crazy son like 616 but that wasn't with Moira.
>>
COME OUT CHARLES, COME AND SAVE YOUR WEAKLINGS
>>
>>83208503

Yeah the mixed reviews and bad word of mouth online from the global release means it's tracking as a flop. Shame as while it's not great it's no way as bad as BvS say. And I enjoyed the 80s setting and new X kids.
>>
>>83203746
I dunno, probably because I thought it was terrible.

anyone know why they started releasing shit early in foreign countries first?

In my opinion they tried to introduce too much characters.
Of Psylocke the only thing you can really remember other than that she was the sexiest character of the movie is that she worked for Caliban.

I had a few problems with it.
The first third was poorly aligned.
Few scenes felt forced, the scene with Magneto in the woods felt just weird, special effects range from pretty good to cheap and they wasted 15 minutes on a side plot just for a Wolverine cameo.
Yeah I know, people love Wolverine but for the sake of this movie it was nothing but padding. They could have used that time for more character development for Storm for example.
Else I enjoyed it.

I thought it was great! Better than DofP (which I liked, but didn't love), and I enjoyed it more than Deadpool, but those are two very different movies, so it's unfair to compare them.

Frankly I don't think they've done an X movie that straight sucked yet (even the maligned X3 and 1st Wolverine were "alright"), but this one might be second only to first class...I really, really liked it!

Now that I think about it, I feel like this is the first X flick since the first one that tells a simple story about a big baddie getting taken down by a team of mutants, and the fighting and action takes priority over setting up other movies or getting into LORE LORE LORE. Plus, uh, Metallica and Venom in the soundtrack? I did not expect that.

I'm looking forward to their 90s era flick.

i thought it was fucking rad. not as good as Days of Future Past or X-Men 2 but i think it was better than X-Men 1. It was level with First Class.

Sometimes I wonder if people really think this or are biased because they saw a RT review before seeing the movie and couldn't enjoy it by themselves having that number on the back of their heads.

I'm not saying you aren't right, but I wonder if watching it with that information really influences its perception.

For that matter I felt 13 watching this movie. I liked it more than Civil War, because unlike that one, I never felt tired or sleepy at some scenes

All Marvel properties have the Marvel splash even if not MCU movies. X: Apocalypse also has the Marvel splash.
>>
ok you guys convinced me, ima go see this next week
>>
>>83209657

True as bad as X-Men Apocalypse is. It's hundreds of times better than anything Marvel themselves with the X-Men in have produced in the last few years.
>>
>>83209740

It's a good movie and plenty of fun as an X-Men fan. It's just unfavourably reviewed next to DoFP and Civil War.
>>
>>83209728
For that matter, it was pretty much had the feel of an early-to-mid 00s superhero movie in a good way, and as the better X-men movies and kept the theming of the franchise perfectly well.

Fuck, I dunno, I watched it a week ago and I'm still excited about it because I barely saw threads this whole week so I couldn't talk so much about it.
>>
What do people mean when they say "the Quicksilver scene"?
>>
>>83209754
Yeah, I didn't realize how much I miss THE X-Men.
But let's see, during the past few years we had Bendis, which felt like big fucking nothing, some meh stuff with Wolverine and Wolverine & X-Men, good Spider-Man X-Men mini, the end of X-Factor, even it sold better than Spider-Man 2099, inoffensive amazing x-men, Soule doing whatever, and now Lemire being clueless, Bunn doing a good book, but with bad art, and Hopeless being hopeless.
>>
>>83209759
It's so weird because I didn't like DoFP in comparison except for a few set-pieces since it went from a different direction I expected )more like wanted) First Class to go since Singer came back.

>>

>>
This whole thread is just terrible.

This movie was garbage. Terrible directing, casting, acting (with the exception of Fassbender), CGI, costume direction, cinematography, screenwriting. Everything. This movie rolls zeros on all accounts.

The shoehorned Quicksilver slo-mo? Awful. The Wolverine cameo? Awful.

On the Wolverine topic, did anyone notice that moment where he is looking through a CCTV monitor and does this terrible snarl thing and stampers off? It was like a SNL skit level of intensity.

Sansa Stark. Awful.

This whole crap fest of Bryan Singer movies needs to fucking stop immediately. Marvel just needs to cut the bullshit and buy Fox's contract out so a proper line of X movies can be done.

Fucking Sansa Stark bullshit. Get Famke back to at least get the acting right.

Hell, the top-tier casting of the first X-Men movies were the only thing that made them good. They could make a fucking infomercial amazing if they put Patrick Stuart and Ian McKellen in it.
>>
>>83209792
From what I see there are few camps:
1) People who are disappointed, because it's not 2deep4u
2) People who just don't like Fox doing X-Men period
3) People who appreciate that the movie is a blockbuster flick who doesn't take itself too seriously
4) People who don't care about the X-Men, they just want that other movie be the king of all capes

Global heating and cooling phases are normal. Examination of polar ice core samples puts our current warming trend well within expected parameters.

Not saying pollution is awesome, or that we don't need to do something about it. But saying we're, "causing," global warming is jumping the gun quite a bit.

Anyone noticed that the movie feels like it's borrowing a little from X-Men #1 and #4 (from Lee/Kirby era?) I mean the way that X-Men assemble to fight a huge mutant threat on their very first mission without knowing much about each other did ring me a bell.

And issue #4 because it was X-Men vs major mutant threat and his henchmen.

So I'm guessing Jubilee was meant to infiltrate weapon X with the others but then they reshot the whole sequence with Wolverine they just decided to leave her behind.

There were too many (new) character in the whole movie.
The film would have worked much better if it was released after another one or two movies, because right now we have a great number of characters that are barely introduced.
They did a rather good work with the 3 young X-Men, but the 3 new horsemen have barely a characterization
Also Moira was completely pointless, but that's another problem
It was a good movie, but there is a great number of ways it could have been easily better

>>

>because we might finally see X-Men in space.
Between Fox and Marvel the space stuff is halved, but who gets the better half? Marvel has Celestials, and Kree, but both have Skrulls, and Fox alone has Brood and Galactus?

Cosmic X-men is gonna be a trip if they do it.
>>
>>83210306
How about use it for a Cyclops solo movie?

That way they can keep the team shit Earth bound because as long as the old guys are still in charge, they'll want that.

>>83210324
Thanos is a mutant titan. Basically an X-man, except alien.
>>
>>83210324
Well, Fox has the majority of good stuff, otherwise Marvel wouldn't create chitauri. The thing is, and it's a common complain, is that Fox is not using these characters. Thankfully, a person who was responsible for the mess that was FF2 works currently at Sony, and Singer already said that he is a huge fan of Star Trek, so... We'll see.

You'll have to explain that one to me. The Celestials created the Eternals (what I know Thanos to be) and the Deviants. This attracted the Kree which resulted in the Inhumans. This same interest in humans that resulted in Eternals, Deviants, and Inhumans is where Mutants (since they are supposed to be rare even though Marvel keeps fucking that up) come in as the next evolutionary step for humans which the Celestials and Kree were aware of.
>>
>>83210396
Tell it to people who went watching The Avengers three, four times

Ausfag here, saw it yesterday in a cinema only about half-filled.

Obvious faults but it was pretty enjoyable, some sequel baiting and too many characters aside it had some great moments, Quicksilver scene, Magneto destroying Auschwitz, Jean Grey turning super saiyan.

Just felt like it was introducing a LOT for the third film in a trilogy
>>
>>83210407
I looked up a fan wiki of Thanos a while ago and it says he's a mutant of the titan race. I don't know what you're talking about.
>>
>>83210429
Titan is where he's from. His race is Eternal.
>>
>>83210432
I see.
>>
So what I'm getting from this post is that the movie was actually pretty enjoyable for the most part besides a few wonky CGI scenes?
>>
>>83210354
>Well, Fox has the majority of good stuff, otherwise Marvel wouldn't create chitauri.
They didn't create chitauri for the movies though. Chitauri are from Ultimate, and Feige says they can both use Skrulls, it's just Kl'rt that Fox has exclusively.
>>
>>83210407
It's a little confusing.
You can call Thanos a Titan, rather than Eternal, and you are correct. You can call him an Eternal with Deviant Syndrome, and you're correct. You can also call him a mutant Eternal / Titan, and you're correct.

Let me put it shortly
Celestials create Eternals, Deviants, and unlock mutant genes in human beings.

Eternals are at first simple folk, only living longer and with the capability to fly. They divide themselves into two groups due to war for power. The group that lost was banished, the other stayed on Earth and unlocked Uni-Mind, as well as the capability of being perfect.

The banished Eternals got reckt by Kree, and vivisected. Kree saw them as opportunity, as they stopped evolving, and try to experiment on some apes to see the results, so they experimented on humans. The result were inhumans. Kree were disappointed and abandoned them.

Meanwhile another group of eternals split from the main group, due to fear that another war woudl happen, and the dude that left became The Mentor. He crossbreeded with the people of Titan and populated the planet.

Thanos is not 100% Eternal, but his father is.
Also, he has a genetic mutation, but it's a little different mutation than x-gene.
>>
>>83210457
That sounds about right
>>
>>83210457
More or less.
>>
>>83210457
Didn't even notice poor CGI, some boring characters and plot that went nowhere was my issue.

He is without doubt one of the worst Marvel villains.

He is a halfassed attempt at having a Thanos for the X-Men, while forgetting that the X-Men cant handle a Thanos.

So he is propped up as this amazing guy that can tank entire X-Men teams without blinking...but only as long as he monologues. Then he caves in pathetically in the final battle.

A few years pass by and another writer decides that "Apocalypse is awesome dudes, we can make him bigger, better, Apocalypsier" and next time we see him he tanks an entire X-Man team and then caves in pathetically at the end.

The constant oneupmanship in finding new and awesome avenues for Apocalypse to be badass, make him ever more pathetic as he continues to lose no matter what.

This is a dude that is supposedly one of the most powerful mutants ever, with access to the best tech in Marvel (even if he understands little of it), who is supposed to be super smart and have vast experience in war, leadership and basic understanding of the human situation...And he have had thousands of years to prepare his battleground.

And despite that he have one of the worst win/lose ratios of supervillains. Doom does vastly better than him. Hell, Mister Sinister who is supposedly his lackey does better than him.

All of which make me fondly remember the Namor issue in the nineties where Apocalypse cleverly imprisoned Namor in a tank of water.

Apocalypse as a character can never win because his agenda is so all encompassing and disruptive that he have to lose.

Also the poor bastard have no idea about evolution at all.
>>
>>83211307
He hasn't been for a very long time.
>>
>>83211558
I feel like you copypasted some discussion from Apoc / Thanos / Darkseid thread.
Apocalypse is completely different character from Thanos, with different goals, etc.

>Apocalypse as a character can never win because his agenda is so all encompassing and disruptive that he have to lose.
>What is AoA

Still, find me a villain that definitely wins. Thanos lost big time when he lost Infinity Gauntlet, Red Skull gets constantly cucked, same with Loki. It's the nature of capes that villains tend to lose..

In many ways you could argue whether Apoc is actually a villain, or misunderstood force of nature, but that's another topic for another day.
>>
>>83211614

A really shitty genotype flipped version of Days of Future Past. Worse in every single way than the original story line that inspired it, while also encompassing everything wrong with 90s events and 90s X-Men in general.

AoA?

You mean the setting where Apocalypse got started because Legion handed every advantage to him in the start, where he despite his tech and superpower advantage he still had not managed to wipe out the rest of humanity in decades. Where when he started wiping out the humans they retaliated by nuking everything that moved in his empire and where he lost in a fight against a explicitly depowered Magneto?

Because, yeah that was sure impressive.
>>
>>83211679
Ruling the world is ruling the world.
Show me when Red Skull ruled the world.

Also, his goal wasn't wiping out humanity, but enslave them. He also believe in survival of the fittest, which means that no one can feel safe, not even his own henchmen. He is a tool of Celestials.
>>
>>83211698

I believe there are at least one case of the Red Skull ruling the World by way of the Cosmic Cube.

Thanks to reality warping it even lasted for thousands of year. It was used to give Cap a combat upgrade since the Red Skull killed him and fought him for thousands of years.
>>
>>83211698

I am pretty certain that if they nuked him they were not enslaved either.
>>
>>83207012
Quicksilver can do bodily harm at superspeed. Apocalypse is impervious to most kinds of damage. I don't see it as jobbing really; his powers just aren't a good fit.
I mean, look at all it took to bring him down. The kind of power involved in both the physical and astral plane.

As usual, /co/ bitched a tad too muhc about this movie in previous threads. I went expecting Mystique to be Felicity, when the movie clearly isn't about her and she doesn't do much.
Granted, Lawrence is not really putting much effort, but she wasn't thrust into the front all the time either. It's the same complain people had with Wolverine in DOFP, when both characters don't even get too much involvement in the last battle.
>>
>>83210396

They were cunning bitches. But I feel that Apoc enjoyed nuking. Still, there were numerous AoA realities, when he still survived, so it all depends.

>>

>>
I think the post-credits are going to leave most people scratching their head, but I'm pretty hype for Mr. Sinister. I know it'll never happen but I would love an Inferno movie.

Why didn't Apocalypse just nuke the planet when he had the chance? You'd have survival of the fittest right there. No need to persuade Magneto to do anything.

Apocalypse has never been a real character, he's a plot device even in the comics. He's the narrative equivalent of the final boss in an old side-scrolling beat-em-up, just this big angry asshole who shows up and yells a lot about ultimate power before getting his shit kicked in.

Though maybe they could have explained where the fuck all his Goa'uld Stargate space Egyptian technology came from at some point. I know they can't use the Celestials in Fox movies, but even then maybe they could have carved some time out for an origin story at some point.

Yeah Cyclops was very good in this. They gave him a confidence and swagger he didn't have until later in the comics under Claremont, Morrison, & Whedon. And he acted like a prototypical leader from the start trying to help the others and lead from the front. It was better than him in the previous movies.

How do you constantly have such shit opinions. You are quite possibly the worst tripfag on the website.
>>
>>83212134
Sounds possible
>>
>>83212089

Goddamnit they needed those scenes in it. It provided some needed comic relief, established the characters more, & took advantage of the 80s setting. This is another movie where it will be fixed in the Blu Ray cut ffs.
>>
>>83212136
Yeah, it was more or less confirmed that he it was Celestial's technology in the interviews, and like you said, they couldn't call it by the name, just like marvel can't call the twins mutants.

While the intro is the coolest so far. What does Christ, WW2 airplanes and Mona LIsa have to do with Apocalypse?
>>
>>83212152

This. Apoc was terrible. Oscar Issac is great but his Apocalypse stank. The old 90s cartoon Apocalypse was more menacing.

He is a namefag, not tripfag. but then again, it's not like there is any difference

If Marvel ever buys back X-men rights I hope they keep the intro sequence and theme.

It would be better if Fox and Marvel had a deal like Sony did. They should keep the X-Men and have it their priority, but the X-Men would benefit from some support from marvel

Fox are doing a perfectly good job with the X movies. Really there have only been two disasters. It works as a separate universe right now. Shame Perlmutter or whatever other Disney/Marvel execs are throwing a shit fit about Fox having the rights and doing all they can to shit on the X-Men as a brand.

Quite possibly the worst script I've heard in a long while, even by superhero movie standards.

And I watched BvS twice. Not surprised at all that Fassbender phoned it in.

Except Quicksilver's scene is the exact same scene from the last movie with a different soundtrack. That's a surefire sign your movie sucks when the director just says "fuck it, repeat the scene if everyone liked in the last movie"

The actor that plays Quicksilver looked a lot like the big guy in the Of Mice and Men movie. He was also Shia Lebouf's boss in Transformers 3.

It's funny thinking about how I was happy to see JLaw cast in First Class, and that it was awesome she was getting a break, but 6 years later I can't stand her anymore and I'm just hoping this is the end for her in these movies.
>>
>>83214388
If Disney had the X-Rights, we never would have gotten Deadpool. So I'm quite happy with them being at Fox.
>>
This movie was extremely dumb and silly. But I enjoyed it for just that reason. It didn't take itself seriously like BvS, and it just felt like a saturday morning cartoon on the big screen. I really dislike Mystique having such a large role and the structure of the film was extremely sloppy, but I had a lot of fun with this movie. Not as good as DoFP or First Class but still a good time.
>>

Fox didn't want to make it either, we have my husbando to thank for leaking the test footage

it's shit, the only good scene anybody wanted to mention was Quicksilver saving everybody from the fire

which is just straight ripped off from Futurama where it was done better anyway

fuck this shit
>>
>>83203746

Fox didn't want to make it, but they let it happen. There's no way in hell Marvel/Disney would let one of their movies to be rated R.

I still have a inexplicable weakness for that song where I get excited when the bassline starts (same thing happened in TRON Legacy) so it helped get me amped to see what Quicksilver would do. I kind of wish that they didnt still have him doing all the goofy shit while rescuing everyone though.
>>
>>83214541

while I mostly agree, Disney allowed shit like an organ/blood farm in DD and rape in JJ

I'll give it to Fox for having the balls to do Rrated capeshit on the big screen tho
>>
>>83212262
>>83212407
Different anon, so you just want Marvel as a consultant then? Because thats different from the Sony "deal". Regardless it wont happen since FOX is a rival company and consulting doesnt benefit Disney. I personally in no way want X Men near the MCU and hope the instead get the F4 rights.
>>
>>83211614
>What is AoA
Its the only story in which he did some shit and then he became a joke character. Keep in mind that story is 20 years old. And Apocalypse is a joke of character.
>>
The Mystique hero worship didn't get to me as much during the movie but is annoying me the more I think about it, probably due to the character being the same stupid selfish bitch she was since First Class,

Singer will never get what makes the X-Men awesome as a team and not just individuals.
>>
>>83214674
I kind of wish Charles was the mutant hero.......
>>
I've never seen a cape movie get so little attention this decade. With other movies there's hype threads a few days before release and then the board is fucking flooded with threads about it for a few days after, plus I see people IRL bring it up everywhere, but I wouldn't have even noticed this was released already if I hadn't been told by a relative, and there's exactly ONE very slow thread here.

Was the movie that bad or is it just a enormous marketing failure?
>>
>>83209247
As has been pointed out that makes no sense.

If anything Fox said no to having her in Deadpool because they would have needed to use an older actress due to it being current day, which would likely mean a different casting selection which means there's no synergy if her character catches on.
>>
>>83205364
One thing I want is a high quality rip of that scene, simply so I can get Stan Lee with the reflection of the missiles on his glasses as a desktop background

Personal experience? Im just tired of the X Men movies. The majority of them focus on 3 characters and the rest are just.........there, for the sake of comic fans to get drawn in saying "Hey look its _____". Magneto steals the spotlight, and it essentially ends with FOX going "Next time you'll see the team you've been waiting for"
>>
>>83205716
I saw it last night, the fuck are you talking about it's not out yet.
>>
>>83214988
No its the DOFP costume with the mask cut from "The Wolverine" ending photoshopped. I thought that was pretty obvious.....
>>
>>83214625
Marvel TV isn't under Disney tho
>>
>>83214990
But Im not waiting for any team or team movie in particular.

Any team movie quickly devolves into a le quippy poorly developed team movie. You cant give enough character development or deepness to particular characters in team movies. And its not that you could afford solo movies for each character and X-men being the crossover.

X-men movies are best done with a team, in which 2 or 3 characters at most get the spotlight. Next movie will be Scott, Jean and maybe Charles. And its fine. And if they want to reintroduce magneto do it either as hero or villain, but take a fucking side and stick with it.
>>
>>83205364
Rose is

looking at her and Xavier still feeling like 30 somethings when they should be in their 50s, has me thinking that it's almost as if Fox applied Marvel's sliding timeline to the X-Movies
>>
>>83214923
The other threads are started by marvel interns, or angry DCfags.
>>
>>83215182
I should have specified that the 3 characters are always Charles, Magneto, and Wolverine (which quickly became Mystique oddly enough). Again I dont hate these movies really, I just cant bring myself to care anymore
>>
>>83215182
>Any team movie quickly devolves into a le quippy poorly developed team movie
If you don't count the older X-Men trilogy, which wasn't a example of that anyways, you're only left with the Avengers movies and Civil War. People forget how new that is. And Civil War isn't quippy or poorly developed, whereas Avengers is flawlessly paced. Literally the only movie out right now that fits your criteria is Age of Ultron and that was the result of Whedon half assing everything to get out of the MCU

I watched this last week because South American.
Good movie.
I thought the following things were very dumb

-Moira awakening Apocalypse by forgetting to close the door of the underground entrance. It makes the generations of followers of Apocalypse who worshipped him for milleniums look like idiots.
-The Wolverine scene was shoehorned, and it had the oldest looking Jackman playing as the youngest Wolverine, the experiment before he became an X-Men.
-Jean defeating him with the Phoenix, which is something she always had in her, and not something she caught in Space. She could have beaten Apocalypse much earlier if she always had that power, she was just afraid to let go, of going wild.
