I very much agree. The TTGO cast
are nothing more than shallow, flandarized caricatures of their former selves, and they even admit this. The problem with ShtH and '06 is their terrible writing, cringe-worthy stories, and the fact that they take themselves TOO seriously. I think 3 and 4 are really the only episodes that weren't really good and even then they did have some good jokes in them. I think it's mostly that it really doesn't dawn on you just how few fucks are given until later. By the time you're watching Knuckles become a celebrity by wearing a bent trashcan as a hat or Sonic and Knuckles trying to win a new couch to replace Amy's after they spilled nacho cheese on it, you just know that they presented a bunch of episode ideas to a focus group and went with all the rejected ones. I remember making a green text story about how Wily would team up with Boom Eggman and Sigma would team up with Regular Eggman.

Since Wily was too humane and Eggman was too sadistic in Worlds Collide for them to work together, they'd team up with villains even more evil and more goofy, respectively. The early Sonic games don't get enough credit for how good a job they did at showing Robotnik as a threat to a relatively "solid" world, especially not from Sonic Team.

Mega Man going on "hiatus," Boom comic getting canned with the rest of the stockpiled stories going into digests, Sonic (and other books) going on an unannounced 3-4 month hiatus, layoffs. There's something odd going on.

Archie has never been in good shape. Even back in the earlier days when they were doing well with the actual Archie series, stories of artists being mistreated and going unpaid/underpaid were plentiful.

They're likely in dire straits now and doing what they can to avoid going out of business. They'll probably find a way to stay afloat like usual, but now that Sega wants nothing to do with them, don't be surprised to hear about them shutting down.

Just a design choice. Sonic's beige arms are only like that because on the Sega Genesis, it'd be harder to make blue arms stick out. It's like Mario's mustache and overalls.

Between the brutally sarcastic hyping up of Shadow in the episode, Sonic and friends spending most of the episode trying and failing to assemble a ready-to-assemble table, and Orbot and Cubot outright mocking the show's entire concept at the end of the episode, this episode created such a powerful concentration of based that I was afraid it would get cancelled.

I don't know if I would say they're the best. But holy shit do they work when you can pull them off. It takes some finesse to properly land them between the "plain unfunny" range and the "trying way too hard to be self-parody" range. Rocky and Bullwinkle will always be the quintessential bad pun show.
