He is hopeful and optimistic, which is a great contrast to the brooding Batman world he lives in.

I like him because he cares about his friends and doesn't always make decisions that only make things worse for him, which is surprisingly rare in comics.

Actually I'll give a real answer too.

Something about this generation really appeals to me. The people who grew up superheroing and have just done it most of their lives. I guess in theory it could be a weird child soldier thing but I don't get that feeling reading how it actually plays out so it's just kind of a neat niche in superhero universes. Growing with that lifelong dedication is interesting.

It's definitely the homolust at its core but really I love Dick because he isn't fazed by the comic book world he lives in. In that way he's like the reader, because for some reason writers think I'm still amazed that a man can fly.
