Zootopia

So, what do you all think of the deleted scenes?

Best one. I also want to know song/music name when she hugs the plushie.

Pretty good, not sure why this one was deleted, I know they mentioned time restraints, but I think this worked with the world more than her just looking at a file at Clawhauser's desk.
>>
>>83008614
Is there one where she suffers from concrete burn on her feet?
>>
My favorite is the one where Clawhauser starts singing Try Everything to the cuffed wolf.
>>
>>83008709
They also wanted to establish Clawhauser as an ally of Judy
(for whatever reason as he never does anything later that would warrant him to be explicitly established as an ally.)

Shows foxes for being as evil as they really are.

Concrete isn't hot, it sets because it dries, not because it cools. You're thinking of bitumen.

>actual movie has him making fun of her case and drinking loudly in her ear

Video cameras were a plotpoint later. She couldn't use them this early.

>When cement is dry it contains calcium oxide, which is not particularly dangerous. However, when water is added to cement, calcium hydroxide is formed, which is extremely alkaline with a pH of 12 to 13. Normal human skin has a pH of 5.5; therefore, wet cement can produce alkaline (caustic) skin burns which progress and get worse without more exposure.

But i'm assuming fur protects you from this since there is no direct skin contact.
Also she was wearing shoes, socks and pants.
>>
>>83009156
Her toes were exposed. So the pads of her feet at least fucked up.
>>
is there a non-torrent link to the movie?

Ive tried searching but all i get are shady "registration required" sites with the same pseudo video codec.

Noteworthy in the sense that they replaced with genuinely better scenes; both the conversation with Judy's parents and the Nick introduction were much, MUCH better in the final movie. Especially the latter, to the point where watching the deleted version is cringeworthy and absent of all nuance.

I hope not. The fat comic relief trope is just stupid.
Zootopia should be about normal people with normal problems, where you can easily draw parallels to real life.
We don't need another movie filled with cliches.

She needed a chance alright, a politically correct chance written and directed by proud cock sucking mangina simps who base Judy's competence on a lie about the female sex.

Oh this movie's reception is going to be very delicious after 15 or 20 years pass IRL. After the USA collapses I wonder how in retrospect people will review Disney's movies from these times. I can tell you, it's going to get ugly for the House of Vagina Mouse. And the worst part? Disney cannot pretend "We never put unrealistically competent women in our movies!" because the evidence is there since what? Aladdin?

You will have to commit a murder just like any other, and if you get caught by the police then yes, you will face repercussions. However, Nick will be forever grateful that you have conjured him into the physical realm, and as such, will forgive you for what you've done.

I felt this scene tug at the heart strings when we only saw that slight glimpse of animation with bits of sound... but the real deal hits hard man.

I'm glad they got rid of the collars. Even by the end of it, when the collars are removed and Nick gets his theme park, I would still hate this world. That level of cruelty by the prey is just way too much. Not saying it wouldn't make for a great movie; were I a predator, I wouldn't want to be in Zootopia, even when the collars came off.

But he could never ever do it himself.
I dislike Mr. Big because, despite that power, none of it is his own. How did he earn it? His muscle is all that of POLAR BEARS.
I like Mr. Big as a little cute godfather homage/gag in the film, but Koslov and his gang make much more sense.
>>
>>83016449
Plus... come on, it's Russian mob polar bears... that's fucking genius!

The Godfather homage is okay, but I mean the entire joke wears thin after the first encounter, basically all of which we got from the trailers months before the actual movie.
>>
>>83016449

Sure? Just swap a well-known Italian gangster character trait, for a generic Russian gangster one. But still, in-universe, he had to do some heavy shit, I imagine. I liked it.
>>
>>83016449

Well, other than that being part of the gag, I think it shows that Mr. Big likely had the brains to ear the respect of the polar bears, that or he's just got the money to keep them all in line.

>>
>>83016678
Koslov, hangs out with nothing but Polar Bears it seems, runs a polar bear mob, in that collared world.
He's held down in that shitty city and still made something of himself, even having that kid of his, showing that even though he's a mobster, more than likely chaining up both Nick and Judy trying to collect on his loan to Nick for Wilde Times, he's a very sympathetic character.

I like him more out of consistency with the world, where as Mr. Big almost exclusively thrives on the mob-boss trope.

The movie seems really good at flirting the lines of "left" or "right" leaning propaganda elements so it never seems to work as an allegory for either.

Predators are the largely dominant species in the world, in the major economic and governmental sectors. i.e. "white people"

But they are explicitly only 10% of the population, a minority, and a widespread presumption by the majority about the inherently less civilized nature of that minority group

The opposition to the fears Judy set off were based on wanting to keep "diversity" a valid prospect in the city. Could be construed as themes of legitimizing said campaigns, usually government pushed.

But the going wild incidents were a literal governmental false flag of what was essentially terrorism, orchestrated by, ironically enough, a sheep (i.e. "sheeple" not believing in conspiracies)

Really did a good job clouding the two so it put the real focus based on striving for individual accomplishment. Of course it wont stop the extremes from arguing how this movie is either a champion for education on "privilege" or on the other hand how "red pilled" it is.

>>
>>83020140
The film's creators avoided any kind of allegory to anything. You can draw parallels to real life racial conflict from the ones in the film, but the conflicts in the films work only for the world they were used in. Predators and prey aren't whites and blacks, they're predators and prey. Just like the friction between foxes and bunnies comes from their behavior as animals.
>>
>>83020140
It's a little bit of everything, just like real life. It's true that it starts with you but that means giving everyone a chance and when you're given a chance to not disappoint. Stereotypes hold true for a lot, but in this big messy world those aren't something you can live by. Try and forgive. We all make mistakes, etc.

As far as left and right go, the worst the left says is that it misses the mark when it shows that all wolves can't resist a howl (reviewer) and the worst the right has is an actual article about "the unfortunate message of Zootopia" (actual political site). It's more left than right for sure, but you're right that it's subtle.

Hundreds of pops from a 15-20 jumbo pop where each of the miniature ones were sold for about 2 bucks?

Even accounting for the expenses of gas and spiting the profits, 200 sounds about right.

The pred vs. prey thing develops fairly late in the movie. Other than Judy's play and a bit with Gideon, there's no trace of prey vs. pred animosity until Bellwether's plan sets them at each other's throats. The main conflict before that isn't pred vs prey but big vs small - Judy trying to do a big critter's job (the smallest critters on the police force are wolves) and also anti-fox discrimination.

I counted 40 pawpsicles at his stand.

That's $80, not counting the cost of the stand, the gas, the permit to sell food, the license to transport commerce across state lines, and the cut he gives to Finnick.

Almost all the sales he gets must be through selling the "red wood".
>>
>>83020890
She might have been. Models were reused and clothing of course. Caninue Reeves could have been the arrested wolf that Clawhauser was talking to about Gazelle, the wolf the polar bear thugs ruffed up and took a selfie with, and of course Doug's victim.
>>

I disagree, if they could change up a few things with edgetopia to make it all add up and make sense, it could probably work.

If you really want to be all CinemaSins about it,be more thorough. That clearly isn't their whole supply in your picture and they have more kept in frozen storage inside the van. Likely for going to multiple locations at different times of the day.
>>
>>83021119
Plot/Story wise, maybe. But even they themselves realized that it needed major tweaking for it not to be so blatant. Although it doesn't take that long for the movie to show people to get how Zootopia really is, and that's why they re-worked it like that.
>>
>>83021111
That's just one stop though.

They made 10 rows of 20 pawpsicles. That's $400 worth. Plus selling the sticks afterward.

Alright, that pick shows 10 2x9 rows of pawpsicles.

That's 180 at $2 each, totaling $360.

Nick gives Finnick $40, bringing it back down to $320.

Assuming $200 is an exact number and not an estimate, that would be $120 in gas and permits.

EXCEPT, that it's not Nick's van, its Finnick's, and he'd only have to pay for the permits once, and presumably gets them renewed annually, costing around $1k (being generous).

So if he's been doing this same hustle since he was 12 that's 20(320(365)) - 20(1,000)

Which would come to $2,316,000. Where did all this money go?
>>

Zootopia's setting stays the same, except Nick still keepshis collar due to committing a high impact murder crime which he had no memory of, but still blames himself. Through muh leads and detective work with Judy in the third act, he realizes he was part of an early Nighthowler experiment conducted by Bellwether and friends. In the climax, through magical Disney convenience, Bellwether shoots Nick with the nighthowler but it aims at his collar, thus not affecting him at all, so we don't get those stupid shoehorned super obvious blueberries.

Disney's tendencies toward assembly-line whimsey and Byron's intresting yet overly-dark initial renditions were necessary evils to come to this middle ground.

>A sheep will become highly agitated if it is separated from the rest of the flock.

Think about it. Bellwether isn't racist due to predatory violence, it's an excuse, a mask. Bellwether has never fully suggested the elimination of predators, she wants a collective fear and distrust of predators throughout Zootopia. What I'm saying is, she wants to go back to her Stone Age species roots. Sheep are flock animals, and when separated from a flock, they become extremely distressed. In modern Zootopia, a flock would have no place, and this would be very distressing for Bellwether from the very starting point of her life. By being mayor and putting a collective distrust against predators, she would recreate the Stone Age flock her biology so desires. All her employees have been sheep so far.

It would be poetic, she would hate the predators for their biology yet she's one of the only characters who have fully given into their biology. But it's all my headcanon.

Why wouldn't one compare apples and oranges? If I'm packing my lunch why wouldn't I think "hrm, apples are sweet and crunchy while oranges are tangy and juicy" and decide based on the comparison? I could create a spreadsheet where I list their nutritional contents, vitamin c levels, cost, weight, whatever.

Both are fruit. Both serve a similar role in the diet. Why the fuck should the two not be compared?

Nice. I've been to a few after-hours private viewings with some theatre employees. They'd download certain select trailers, cut out the commercials, etc. Nice when you discover the decryption key still works on a movie that stopped showing like 5 months earlier and has not been over-written on the hard drive. :^)
>>
>>83028593
Nah, we work at a theater that has all that network-logged for corporate to browse. Unscheduled after-hours screenings draw too much attention.
>>
>>83028665
Aw damn that's too bad. We'd meet every week about 3 to 6 of us. All the popcorn left over from that night to eat, & bring your own pop.

We'd sometimes rig up a bluray player to the projector (took lots of adjustments to the settings to get the scope and stuff right) and watch a movie on a massive screen. They did that for me when HTTYD2 came out. I'd never seen the 1st one so we had a double-feature night. Got out late, something like after 4 am. Had to work at 7.. ugh.
>>
>>83028791
It was much easier in the 35mm film days, because the films would have to be screened Thursday nights after hours to make sure they worked and weren't damaged or anything. Occasionally I'd be out of there around 6 AM or so. Then they decided that was costing too much payroll and they stopped doing that. Then digital film came in and projection work, which had been steady shifts all the time, was relegated to a few hours once a week because it was so automated.

I think that the deleted apartment scene (the one just after Nick leaves her in concrete) is much more realistic and just works better. The scene that they went for is a bit more humourous, but I love how good Judy's reactions are with her parents and when she puts the phone down. Her going to sleep with all those bunnies is really sad too.

Yeah, the scene ironically suffered from how detailed everything was. In the original version, saying we entered into the scene cold, we might have been along for the ride with Judy. In this version? It's too obvious he's up to something. Plus, the humor is really tired, and the theatrical joke, while taking longer to play out, is better. Still though, it's good to see they tried.

Wrong hombre, concrete has a set of chemicals that make it get steaming hot in order to help it dry faster. I think it's calcium and mixed salts but I'm not sure. The more that's in it the faster and longer it heats up for and if you order a truck with too much and pour it too thin it can bake itself and create air pockets and small cracks. This self baking problem happens a lot during city based union jobs where all the workers just wanna rap up work early so they can sit around.

Working with an over mix is awful and it does get to be a sauna when your trying to float it perfectly smooth.

Sanders or Trump would be fine. If you Americans elect another establishment hack like Clinton, I'll be severely disappointed

Dem short sleeves. Moonspeak Judy confirmed married.

Is Finnick even big enough to do that? He's fucking tiny

Is he a rapist?

dunno, but he's strong enough to carry a giant popsicle.

Maybe then. Really wish we saw more of his character. My family watched it last night and they agreed that his little bits were the some of the best parts of the film (they enjoyed the sloth scene the most, of course).

i showed this movie to my brother who had no intention of seeing it on big screen and he said same.

Finnick is a gem of character, i hoped to see more of him on bluray extras.. past tense.

was the whole thing a money laundering scheme/paid vacation?I mean nothing in the final product could not have been done by having owned a bunny, watched discovery at least once and using logic/hiring disability accessibility people to do your city. They talk about how there was no time but why was shakira even in this?there seem to be enough time for shakira's fat fans app jokes.

No, that would have been shit.

Gideon is perfect the way they made him.
>>
>>83031713
it would be realistic since some people don't change, especially in isolation of a hick town. would also be kind of rude since he is the only true hick in the movie.
>>
>>83031768
Some people really do change though. I was certainly a different person when I was nine years old.
>>
>>83031768
It's a kid film at the end of the day. I know that most people who are arseholes when they're young stay that way, but having him turn his attitude around and become a nice guy is pretty comfy
>>
>>83019129
Yes, it is such a strange criticism I've seen of the film. The song is introduced at the high point of Judy's views of Zootopia, she truly believes that she can do anything and the world is great, that coupled with an overly happy pop song really worked, especially when the following scenes crush her preconception.
>>
>>83021369
>If you really want to be all CinemaSins about it
So criticize something that isn't even a flaw so you can sound clever? Their Kung Fu Panda 2 video genuinely triggered me they did it so much.
>>
>>83031851
I think that the song's OK, but I just don't like how they had to have that pop star character in there. The bit where Zootopia is in ruins and she steps in to ask for calm really rubs me the wrong way- mainly because of how it happens in real life and the ego that musicians seem to have.

But then that's just my opinion and it's the only real criticism of the film I have.
>>
>>83031768
I don't think him not changing would have gone with the films overarching message.
>>
>>83031900
thats their joke
>>83019129
I think it will date the movie hard. having a subdued/upbeat jazz song would have added to the serial atmosphere
>>
Can you throw money into zootopia to show support without buying tickets or bluray?
I don't want anybody to know i like the movie as much as i do because i'm too insecure.
Would love to donate some money via paypal or something though.
>>
>>83031995
>thats their joke
But it really isn't they used to do genuine criticism or plot inconsistencies and were genuinely clever with it, now it seems as if all they do is point out memey shit or shit they subjectively didn't like.
