Hey, did you guys know that back in metastuck's heyday there were a few musicfags that made songs for it? Possibly, since most of them are posted on the metastuck tumblr. But in case you didn't, or you did but couldn't be assed to snatch them up yourself and still kind of wanted them I complied them into a nice little album for you on nobody's authority but my own. Wow. I just finished Kid Radd, because someone mentioned it here days ago and provided a link, and I forgotten I had read the first quarter of it, fuck, like in 2003? And then forgotten about it. So 13 years later I finish it, and it was good stuff. It was the Homestuck I always wanted, just sitting there.

Simple, innovative for the time, fun characters and emulation of an 8-bit style, decent game humor in a time when it was rampant and done poorly, fun simple plot with a few neat twists, some profound moments that didn't drag out or become overwrought, and had enough meta to make it interesting instead of grossly self-masturbatory and embarrassing. Fucking A+ work. I feel like it just washed out all the gross Homestuck residue and left me feeling entertained and happy.

Plus I could digest it in one afternoon instead of dragging through a whole ugly week.

Why is there nothing like Homestuck?

I just want something with strong characters that bounce off each other really well, like those great pesterlogs between Rose and Dave.

I just want something that all comes together in ways that I couldn't have foreseen but make total sense, like all those time loops and their reverse-foreshadowing.

I just want something with an incredible world, something that gives me the sense of awe I felt the first time I saw the Land of Wind and Shade.

You know, it's funny how when Hussie tried to up the stakes he just lowered them.

I mean, think about it. At the start, we had the end of the world. That was kind of a big fucking deal. The stakes were immediately apparent, and we saw a lot of what was going on with things like the meteor shower in Dave's city.

Then Hussie decided to make it so that all of reality was at stake. But it turns out that a significant proportion of reality is just populated by clones of the main characters. Why should we be freaked out about ten million Equiuses dying?

Think about it. The reason Karkat becomes Karkuck in A6 is to differentiate him from Caliborn, who is literally A3 Karkat but more extreme.

Think about it. Every "new" thing added in Act 6 is just some sort of an expanding upon of existing characters or concepts, ending with the retcons which literally utilize the power of the comic itself.

All the joke trolls should have been used as supporting characters to the more important trolls. It makes no sense not to use them that way, you gain the best of both worlds in that you get to develop your main cast, give some characterization to characters fans enjoy and can keep still use their joke associated with them without taking screen time away from the actually important cast.

Instead we didn't even get the main cast interacting with each other, and a bunch of other stupid, one dimensional characters being added for no reason.
