Repostan from last night.

Slightly unsure about Amethyst, but the her silhouette reminds me a lot of how amethyst looked covered in goo, and the color could be a hint for her, despite the other gems not having a consistent color scheme. It's also interesting that the gem with the three spikes at the front seems new, given how clear the silhouette is, and the pink gem circled in black towards the back has hair reminiscent of Centipeetle's.

Also, the "known" gems aren't "our" gems.

Nah, it's probably just because Amethyst and Pearl's emotions and actions are more overt, so they don't really need to say they love Steven when it's readily apparent. Garnet is stoic, but she has these cutesy little moments to remind us she's not emotionless or cold. It makes sense she'd be the one to remind Steven she loves him the most.

I always find fan fusions always look too much like their component gems. Some characteristics are kept, but each fusion so far shows it's own characteristics unique to it.

With the size of the cluster, and the nature of the battle that we saw in Same Old World, it looks like Roses Rebellion was much larger than just a splinter cell of revolutionaries and traitors.

It's been shown that cracked/shattered gems still have some level of consciousness and that shards can be used to power objects, so they probably just think of overly-broken gems as non-sapient tools. They were surprised when she displayed signs of sapience because they thought that she was effectively gone, and wary of her because they didn't know where her allegiance lay.

They wouldn't really retcon things, Rebecca's said that she's planned things out from the start. They've shown that they're way too aware of things, and have made callbacks to extremely early episodes from some of the most recent ones (like some of the gems from the flashback having first appeared in Cheeseburger Backpack), so retcons are out of the question!

I dunno, I kinda feel like they chose the best option here.
I kept saying that Lapis should never forgive the CGs for imprisoning her and all that, and thinking that it'd be stupid/weird if Homeworld were the ones behind her imprisonment after all her angst towards the CGs.

This option though, that both sides contributed, is one I hadn't considered.

Now the blame is spread, but also it can be healed easier. She can come to forgive the CGs in this case by coming to understand the purpose of the rebellion (she seems like a high rank gem, likely not the kind that felt the need for revolution) that poofed her.
Plus, now she's set up for future shenanigans when we finally get to Bismuth, and the beef she'll have with Pearl is going to be more personally with Pearl rather than the CGs as a whole.
