Yeah he is. He gets the most shit, and whenever he does anything that would be similar to Mabel's actions, he would have an entire episode focused around how these actions are wrong, ending with him learning from these mistakes.

Mabel is never called out for her bullshit, and never learns anything, even though she does some of the most selfish shit throughout the entire series.

All in all, Dipper keeps his cool while being ass blasted throughout the entire summer, and even becomes a better person by the end of the series.

I liked GF, but really started to hate Mabel's character after S2, which is a shame because I really like Kristen Schaal's voice acting. Luckily, Dipper managed to be the best character from the beginning to the end of the show.

His brother was much worse than Dipper could ever be. Dipper is the kinda guy who would throw his ambitions away if you needed him there which he did, whereas Ford was pretty narcissistic.

I bet if Gravity Falls had 3 seasons this would have been explored more. Season 2 felt like they just crammed 2 seasons into 1. What with the finale-level reveal of Ford being what should have been the end of 2 and the next episode the beginning of 3.

Hell even Gideon's redemption arc was rushed as hell. The prophecy that was built up from Season 1 was thrown away just as quickly as it was bought up. So much potential wasted because there was only 2 seasons.

In this show you can do all the horrible things you want and still be presented as a good person, but if you don't always put your family first then you're literally worse than Hitler.

He's the guy who hands down went through the most character development out of any person in this series and even despite all that I truly don't believe he's even gotten anything resembling a happy ending that he deserves for the effort.

His "happy ending" is being tied to the hip of the easily (second) most selfish, self-centered, destructive and egotistical fucking persons in the whole series: Mabel. Mabel never "learns" anything- Mabel learns so fucking little and doesn't grow as a person in the entirety of the series that she literally the point of conflict at the end of the show.

Mabel has never cared about what Dipper has wanted- it's always been about what "Mabel wants" or what "Mable thinks", etc..

PACIFICA has more positive character development than Mabel.

They dropped the ball on even exploring that whole thing, I can see a lot of downsides to it that have nothing to do with Mabel, as was discussed, but after setting off such a major event it was practically forgotten about. For me the biggest let down was having this hugely effective "oh shit" moment not just for the plot/world but for the characters and their relationships in Vs the Future and then having all the damage and danger immediately fizzle to nothing.

Dipper and the Author Mystery were the only thing keeping me on the show. Stan was only good for his one liners because plot heavy episodes made me feel completely and utterly unsympathetic for him, Mabel is shit through and through, and all of the side characters served no fucking purpose what-so-ever.

Dipcifica is still the most superior ship to date though.Just imagine these two knowing they're better than everyone and being smart and snarking each other to hell and back.
