Not necessarily. Any action that "shouldn't happen" can result in a doomed timeline. The alpha timeline had all twelve trolls survive and make it to the meteor, so any timeline where one or more of them dies is doomed by default.

Remember how Vriska explained away her actions in Act 5.2 with the fact that, if she didn't do this terrible stuff, the timeline would be doomed? That's actually true: Alpha timeline has Bec Noir be a thing, so any event that would stop him dooms that timeline.

In order for a doomed timeline to exist somebody had to correct it, otherwise it would have just resulted in a failed session. Every timeline where karkat had become godtier did happen, but for whatever reason in those timelines the trolls either failed to kill the black king or bec noir didn't end up in their session, and aradia had to go fix it. Bec Noir's timeline was the only timeline that would ultimately lead to a successful session, which is why it was the alpha timeline, and any actions that lead away from that timeline doomed it.

This would mean that when fighting the black king there must have been at least 100,502 aradiabots. That's some serious firepower. Maybe those timelines weren't doomed because somebody fucked up but just because there weren't enough aradiabots in the session yet to beat the final boss.
