Lazy bait or not, the largest animal anthropomorphization tradition comes from cartoons, anon. It was a simple, very effective and visually interesting way of conveying character traits without the need of exposition (in a way Zootopia uses that idea as a -negative- starting point)
There's this odd trend of forgetting the (literally) decades of precedents that came before it became mostly about wanting to fuck Gadget
>>82670076
>this odd trend of forgetting the decades of precedents
Remember the trailers? Zootopia basically was pitched to audiences as if "different animals evolve and form a society" was the greatest, most original high concept ever conceived. That WAS pretty odd
>>82670184
Yeah, I remember this kinda weirding me out when I first heart about the movie.

>>82670554
>>82670184
Yeah, that to me is what makes this film a truly 'furry pandering' movie is the emphasis they put on it.
Also that so many people fell in love with Judy and smugfox (myself included) only adds to that.
>>82668289
When they rut...yanno..

I'm redrawing face of my retarded military Nick. I feel weeks of practice had finally paid off - he now looks extra retarded.
>>82672943
Look forward to seeing the finished picture
Well, I'm pretty happy with this as pretty much the final image. Changed the eye area slightly and made the ears fall a bit forward. Might change the right arm before I go for a proper 1440p render, but that should be it for now.
Really hope that nothing crops up on the 1440p image that I couldn't see on these low-res ones
>>82674337
If she is laughing, play around with the tilt of the head. Also with the orientation of the ears, relax them a bit. Cheeks should go up and close the eyesockets a bit. Play a bit with the position of the camera, front view is a bit boring for this shot. Play a bit with the eyebrows position, make them go down closing the eyesocket a bit.
>>82674628
Ahah, feedback! The head is actually tilted slightly, but I understand what you mean and I could emphasise it slightly more with the camera. I'll give the eye and cheek stuff a go now and see how it looks.
For reference, I'm trying to recreate pic related (no particular reason why) so I'm probably going to stick with the front view. I'll have the Blender file saved tho, so there's no reason I can't go back to it and try out new camera positions.
>>82667996
I can imagine you could pretty tweaked out in small doses, like about a drop.
Anything bigger then that would probably cause them to kill each other.
>>82674754
Oh I didnt knew you were recreating. In the picture you can see his eyebrows are furrowed. There are also things that the 3d model cannot recreate, like he wrinkles next to the nose and the cheeks. Thats a limitation you have to work around.
In any case, I believe exageration is key for toon stuff. Copying 1:1 will get you so far. Judy is cartoony, take advantage of that and find you way around communicating the pose without copyin it exactly.

>>82675493Little check-box next to "chose file" that says "Spoiler?"
>>82675058
Yeah, I know that I'm not going to get too close to an exact replica, but I'm just going for the general pose and shape of the face. I want to add some stuff to this model, but obviously I need to learn quite a bit of Blender to be able to do so, which is why it'll have to wait until after my exams in late May/early June.
Mhm, I'll try and take that approach from now on. Thanks a lot for the advice.
>>82675118
No probs. He certainly does look like a bit of a retard tb͏h. I can't draw for shit so I can't really give any proper advice, but it looks pretty good- maybe change the mouth area slightly?
No offense but neither animal society nor furrie pandering are special. Zootopia is just better developed but the two ideas were always pursued
>>82668289
Let me explain to you how deer sex works.
Around the full moon in autumn, all of the bucks get rapey, which scientists call going into "rut". They then chase all of the does around the woods trying to mate with them. This goes on for days since the does don't want any part of it, until finally they give up and get it over with. They let the bucks hump them for a few seconds just so afterwards they can have a minute of peace before the chase starts up again.

Agreed but it's also because furry is more developed now than before. As I said its more developed not unique
>>82675919
Just because something is lauded by furries, does not mean the thing they're lauding is furry.
>a definition means furry-loving
>OMG that woman in frozen has high heels thats my fetish they made this film for horny men! (plus him 'naked' isn't remotely sexual)

>back up dancers exist
>anons turn gay for anything
>Robin Hood is a good film I wasn't even aware it was a furry magnet since yesterday on /co/
>ever thought it may be because the majority of the tweets directed at him are furries?
It's a kids film first and foremost - perhaps a couple of people working on it gave a nod to furfags in promoting etc. but the actual film only has 1 bum shot and its in the credits the rest has no sexualization at all apart from 1/2 pun(s) about multiplying
>>82676302
>since yesterday on /co/
Took that long?
>>82676352
It's showing Robin Hood & maid Marion love eachother - I don't see how this is remotely sexual or furry bait? Perhaps its just cos I'm not into that but I see that as an innocent prince/princess moment
>>82675908
LOL!
That's true, you gotta wear the ladies down. Never ever let a woman use sex for power.
>>82676394

Yeah, that trailer was dumb, and it really turned me off from the movie and I had zero intention of watching it until I saw all of the /co/ threads saying it was good.
It was just a stupid marketing decision. Bryon obviously doesn't believe that he's breaking new ground here by writing a movie about anthropomorphic animals. On the contrary, he seems to have a lot of respect for his predecessors and tells everyone where he got his influences from.

working off this assumption than the movie happens in the distant future.
perhaps the reason their are walking talking animals in the first place is that we (being the know vanished humans) were tampering with genetic manipulation. that would explain why they are able to easily go from walking on two legs too all fours without a problem. the panther when from bipedal to quadruped without a problem if a human tried to run on all fours it would not work out well.
>>82674784
>>82679557
50/50
Even without one billion score zootopia is a winner, it beat all original movies without any kind of serious promotion(except Frozen, but fuck Frozen)
it won our hears, Money is just a bonus
>>82684986
it would also explain why we never see other animal groups in zootopia. think of the military value of having a bipedal bear solder with a better sense of smell, strength, and stamina. it would be a veritable gold mine.

so mankind wipes its self out or to near extinction leaving, the genetically augmented mammals to do whatever they please. now for what I hope are clear reason the founding animal generation decided to hid the fact that they only exist because humanity needed better solders and works. to keep this secret they destroyed any evidence of mankind's existence and created a false history closely mirroring our own.

Two-pass ffmpeg it. Figure out the exact bitrate you need by taking 25165824 (the number of bits in 3MB) and divide it by the number of seconds the clip takes. Here's the batch file I use in Windows:
ffmpeg -y -i %1 -c:v libvpx -preset veryslow -b:v %3 -pass 1 -an -f webm -y NUL
ffmpeg -i %1 -c:v libvpx -preset veryslow -b:v %3 -pass 2 -b:a 64k -f webm -y %2
And then the usage there is twopass.bat (input file) (output file) (bitrate). Or if you don't want to make a batch file, just replace all %1 with the input file, the %2 with output, and %3 with bitrate.
>>82690895
Damn, that's really impressive that you noticed that. How many times have you seen the film?
>>82690921
All the way through? Nine. Isolated bits and scenes? Too many dozens to count.

Blimey. Waiting for the Blu-ray before I start watching it over and over- only watched it once.

>>82690921
>Shakira - trace everything starts playing
But yeah, that really ruins it. Whoever drew it is clearly capable of replicating the scenes without tracing
>>82690895
Ok so it's a 29 second clip.
Really sorry to ask but step by step how do I input everything. 867787 is the bitrate i need it seems. I tried looking up things but I really fucking suck at reading command lines.
>>82691044
Huh, yeah. The drawing of Nick is awful in comparison to the sketch of Judy when you look at that webm. Shame.
>>82691062
First, assuming this is a Windows command line (if it's Linux or something the NUL might not work), run this, replacing <input> with the input filename:
ffmpeg -y -i <input> -c:v libvpx -preset veryslow -b:v 860k -pass 1 -an -f webm -y NUL
That should generate a ffmpeg 2-pass file that it can use for the second go around. After that file's been generated, do this, replacing both <input> and <output>:
ffmpeg -i <input> -c:v libvpx -preset veryslow -b:v 860k -pass 2 -an -f webm -y <output>
Rounding down to 860k to make sure it stays under the limit, and I replaced "-b:a 64k" with "-an" because this would have to be a soundless webm for this board.
>>82690983
Please don't make me kek this hard at work
>>82691062
>>82691116
Actually, come to think of it, might need to drop that bitrate to 845k instead if it comes in slightly too big. "k" likes to mean a 1024x multiplier instead of 1000x, and there's a little bit of overhead too.
Thanks. Sorry for asking. I'm not completely computer literate but fuck me command lines seem to always be the bane of everything.
>>82691206
Seem to be right under 3mb but next time I'll round down more just in case.
>>82691223
Well worth the wait fucking hell
>>82691223
Nah, it's good, when it's a fairly lengthy clip you want to get it as close to the filesize limit as possible. The more bits, the better the picture quality. If you've used up all 3MB and it still looks blocking, your other go-to option is to use the -vf scale options to shrink the dimensions. The same number of bits across a smaller picture can raise quality as well. It's a balancing act.
>>82691242

>>82691223
You can look for the "webm for retards" utility (it's on github somewhere) that makes things a lot easier.
>>82691266
Yeah I really should study those things. But I so hardly really use it. I mostly just need it for doing small clips or just to take away the audio. However dealing with bitrates and dimensions are something I have a hard time looking up the best way to do it. And like I said I really need a step by step guide like you did. And people tend to just throw out the command lines without any explanation which just makes everything even more annoying.

If you're talking about unadjusted dollar amounts (which we are, as an inflation-adjusted list puts Zootopia hundreds of millions of dollars behind Snow White), Lion King had three major domestic releases.
1994 - (original) $312,855,561
2002 - (IMAX) $15,686,215
2011 - (in 3D) $94,242,001
Getting exact numbers for the foreign releases on this is a bit trickier.

>and why did some even go on to say "people are forgetting about anthromorphic animals?"
I agree the whole anthro movie never really went away. It's more that Disney kind of shy away from it for a good while. And lets face it even when Dreamworks are at it's best it still pales to the high of Disney. So to many people when Disney does it people are more willing to say "now that's how you do a movie"

The collars are morally gray from the perspective of "reparations" since, yeah, predators were killing and eating prey animals and also one could see how realistically preds were "tamed" into society. Even if that isn't the real history, touching on the concept of historical erasure is pretty cool.

What music would Judy like? Personally, I think she'd love a bit of Eric Clapton- her favourite song of course being Change The World (live version, because she's not a pleb).

Cute
Ultra comfy
While I understand initial sense of wonder and spark of motivation might be somewhat exhausted after this many weeks, I hope it will imprint a lasting impression on us all.

Closing note
>>82700723
>>82700734
We're all winding down now since we're past the bump limit. Hard to really get any proper discussions going on when you know that they're not going to last too long.
So any doujinshi yet?
i want a nick daki
>>82700455
Reminds me of Blacksad.
>>82700734
I really hope the three of them are the focus of the next film.
>>82700964
I would rather be Finnick instead of Fat Joke The character
>>82701017
Finnick is as unimportant as clawhauser, both can fuck off in the sequel honestly, but clawhauser is pretty much guaranteed since ZPD secretary and all
>>82701017
why not both? We can have both so and get along.
>Clawhauser gets his own investigation and ends up having to team up with Finnick
>Benjamin's easy going and fuzzy personality is contrasted with vicious ball of hatred Finnick
>Both are never taken seriously for different reasons
>Shenanigans ensue
FITF incoming
>>82701130
>FITF
who?
>>82701086
I'd watch it.
One of the reasons I want to start a webcomic once I'm confident enough with my drawing skills.
>>82702319
What are they like now?
>>82702319
I started practicing three weeks ago. Finished "drawing on the right side of the brain" yesterday and am 20 pages into Loomis.
Reading guides about comic outlines / composition rules, etc in the meantime.
I guess I'll make few scribbles in a couple of months because I'm vain and arrogant.
