I've actually worn an outfit with metal breastplates for a costume once. They were custom made for me by a friend who does metal work so there wasn't any smushing of body parts, and they weren't uncomfortable at all. They feel strange at first because you aren't really used to metal covering all of your tits, the sides, and underneath along with the weight but once I adjusted they were pretty supportive and I kind of forgot they were there after a while.
