If a bunch are just thrown in to fill a quota it's going to feel stiff and patchworked but with enough proper foundation and build up even if you can see the joke coming you'll laugh often because of the pains taken to squeeze it out.

They killed Kenny is one example, especially its subversion where they either don't react to his death or react in a dismissive fashion from how often it's happened.

Food analogy time. Two people can use the same ingredients to make soup, but depending on who understands the prep and presentation more, or at all, they're going to come out with different results.

This was one of the reasons I really liked Megamind.

Poor guy spends eternity autistically trying to fight the Superman clone and basically does everything he can to fuck him over but he was never actually evil/lethal enough for the hero to consider him a bad guy. In the end, all the heroics were done for Megamind's sake, not for justice or whatnot. At least, that's how I interpret it.

I love this gag. I had to do a mock PSA for a video class in college and I pulled this. Everyone hates the cafeteria so the PSA was basically "Don't eat the cafeteria food, it'll kill you". My character made meal plans with a friend, suddenly realized the friend went to the cafeteria, and started slow-motion running to it.

The best part was nobody outside the class knew about it, so there I was looking like I was running, taking one step every few seconds, and everyone just had weird looks on their faces like "The fuck, dude?"

I finally get to his table right as he's about to eat, and I'm panting and huffing like I just ran a marathon. I grabbed his drink, chugged it, and actually grabbed a drink from someone else's table (again,just some random dude in the cafeteria) and his reaction was hilarious.

He was cool with it afterward, he noticed the camera as soon as we finished recording.
