Word up.
Apparently Coogler wrote some of his lines, making me even more hyped for his movie.

>In my country the mantle of Black Panther is passed from great warrior to warrior, and now thanks to your friend I also carry the name of King. So now I ask you as both a warrior and King: how long do you think you can keep him from me?
>>
That thing doesn't obey the laws of physics at all!
>>
Spidey going full Spakker Dave-tier fanboy was pretty great.
>>
>How does it feel to put all that effort into your plan, only to see it fail?
>Did it?

I don't know why, but that part gave me chills. The fact that a normal guy managed to do what Loki and Ultron couldn't is unnerving.
>>
Thinks for thanking of me.
>>
>YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

Nigga bought me as permanent spidey from that line onward.
>>
So... you like cats?
>>
Hawkeye was so much better in this.

>I retire for five minutes and it all goes to shit.

>I knew I should have stretched.

>I played 18, I shot 18. Just can't seem to miss.
>Well, first time for everything.
>Made you look.

>Are we still friends?
>Depends on how hard you hit me.

>We haven't met yet. I'm Clint.
>I don't care.

>That chewing out Tony in the Raft.
>Better watch your back around this guy! He might break it!
>>
>is this Tony Stank?
>>
"Do you even remember them?"
"I remember all of them."
>>
Please stop bullying Vision. He did nothing wrong.
>>
>This guy Steve was there.
>Do I know him?

They've fully embraced his role as the "most useless one", so even the character's aware of it and making the most of it.

But it's brought out a bit of Clint's boastrous side more so I'm for it.
>>
The whole Ant-Man becoming Giant-Man bit was keks from every angle

>HOLY SHIT!
>Tiny dude is big now -- he's big now!

I had a feeling they were going to sneak it into the movie somehow because its such an iconic Captain America quote.

All of this, Barton was amazing. Also pretty much everything spidey. I like how they acknowledged aunt may being hot too.

Zemo was fantastic. I was expecting purple balaclava eventually or something, but he was just a normal guy tearing apart the most powerful people on the planet. Top tier villain writing.

Also, Vision. "Well the door was open, so i assumed..."

And "I thought it was a water truck!"
>>
>>82558759

>Clint retires

>>
>>82558965
I love how Sam got on his case for talking too much, such a classic Spidey moment.
>>
It'd be a lot to type and remember, I'd probably have to look it up and see if its been posted anywhere but that long exchange between Steve and Tony when he almost gets him to sign the Accord was really intense.
>>
>>82558894
On that note, who is Peter actually related to? Aunt May or Uncle Ben?
>>
>>82559079

Yeah that was good.
>>
>>82559048

Yeah, the Russos did a good job of portraying the fact that, even in a universe of plentiful quips, Spidey is still excessively quippy to an annoying degree.

>Tony telling him to shut up after he takes Cap's shield.
>Falcon telling him to shut up during their fight.
>Rhodey getting annoyed by his Empire Strikes Back reference.

One of my favourite aspects of Spidey's interaction with other heroes is them all thinking he's an annoying dweeb.

That's how it should be too, early Spidey annoyed fucking everyone that he teamed up with, it wasn't until he later calmed down a bit and became an avenger that his team mates stopped getting annoyed. Based Russos
>>
>>82559083
I can't remember where I heard this, but I feel like in some continuity he was technically the blood nephew of both. The siblings of Peter's parents got together.

Sam treating Bucky's "single child doesn't like the new baby" relationship was great.

>"serious" fight

They literally only fought because they were at a cross roads. Team cap wanted to get to the super soldiers and were trying to do that, team iron man wanted to just bring in team cap alive and submit them to the law and due process.

The only person who was actually trying to harm and kill was black panther. That's why there were quips (mostly from characters who are supposed to fucking quip anyway like Spidey, Hawkeye and ANTS) but when Tony loses his shit and tries to kill the shit out of bucky while trying to get cap out of his way in a fit of seething rage at the end of the movie while Zemo tries to kill himself there's no quips.

When shit got serious, the quipping stopped.

Like, as pissed off as they were at each other, I think that undercurrent of "We're at odds, but I know we're both doing what we think we've gotta do." makes the levity feel somewhat more earned.

>>
>>82560706
Yeah, they took the best parts of Priest's run, which even as a fan of it I admit is very little, and channeled it all into Black Panthers story in this movie. They got everything I wanted to see out of the character in this movie, first and foremost defining his identity as a Warrior King which is the most important, showing how he always has a diplomatic entourage around him while he's on official business outside of Wakanda, and then just little things like his austere posture and cool clothing.
>>
>>82560343

>>
>>82560930
>>82560993
Ah.

A better joke would've been if he reaches for something in his suit, Rhodey or Stark is anxious and fuck and points their blasters at him and he just pulls out an orange and nibbles on it.
>>
>>82560893
HYDRA has numerous assassins at his disposal. It might be something Cap suspected, but he never knew for sure.
>>
>>82561060
>HYDRA has numerous assassins

How do you know? Seriously, I've never seen Agent Carter or Agents of SHIELD, is that stated in either of those or something? Because Zola seemed to be saying that HYDRA relied on manipulating events politically more than violence after World War II ended. They'd really only need one trained killer, especially if he's superhuman.
>>
>>82561029
Gotta admit that that would've been pretty good.

Ant-Man in the movie overall was pretty fucking great though. Hyped as shit for him in the next solo of his.
>>
>>82559377
>That's your idea of a getaway car?

>>
Also, hate to bring back the BvS/CW circlejerk argument, but I got so many more ACTUAL THEMES from this film.

>tony/zemo both were driven to some shitty things by concepts of revenge, t'challa rose above his
>peggy dealing with 1900's era bullshit inspiring steve further to rebel against the accords
>friend against friend battle is a conflict ABOUT saving a friend

They may be surface-level as fuck and I won't deny it, but I got way more out of this than the circle of hypocrisy that was BvS' plotline.
>>
>>82558680

It went something like:

TONY: Did you know? [that his parents were assassinated and didn't die in a car wreck]
STEVE: I didn't know it was him.
TONY: But did you KNOW?
STEVE: ...yes.

So Tony's enraged at Bucky for killing them and at Cap for not telling him they were murdered. I think.

Also, top notch acting from both of them in that scene. Tony, heartbroken and also furious, and Steve, knowing he just irrevocably fucked up a friendship.

>Cap literally said he knew Hydra was responsible butwasn't sure if Bucky did the deed

It was pretty clear to me from the way he said it that even it what Steve said is technically true, it was because he didn't want to know. Steve was protecting himself from the truth about all of the things that Bucky has done because he only wants to see him as his friend and a victim of Hydra, not an assassin who has left a trail of bodies for the last 70 years.

This movie made Tony a more compelling than any of that 'I wake up screaming in my sleep!" In Iron Man 3. His conflict and pain was believable in a way that really surprised me.

They weren't fighting seriously, in the sense that they weren't trying to kill each other. They weren't fighting like they were trying to stop a super villain from leveling the city.

The only people who were 100% in it were Cap, Tony, Bucky, and Black Panther. And the only one who was ready to fucking murder someone was Black Panther. But he had no long-standing allegiance to the team yet. In fact, he was only on Tony's side because Bucky was on the other side.

Spider-Man and Ant Man had zero stake in what was going on, and Hawkeye really only had any because he has been strung along in these movies since the beginning.

Every single other character fell in some gray area in the middle.

Black Widow and Hawkeye were pulling their punches. BW stops Black Panther from getting to Cap and Bucky. SW initially seems like she barely wants to be there.

Sure, they're all fighting, and they're "serious" about the fight, but the stakes in the end aren't a bad guy destroying something with the McGuffin. These are people who work together, and are friends, and they're torn between what's going on.

WOW!! I loved it! I didn't think it was going to be this good. It must have been the team fights that made it so amazing. I didn't like Winter Solider (don't really know why? Maybe because there was no threat in it? You knew Steve was going to save 5.6 million people from Hydra at the end and live. So I was very board I guess.) But this was just so great.

The ONE line that made everyone cringe and nobody laugh was (and it had such a good build up to be so funny and it just feel flate on its face), was when Ant Man gets back to normal size, breaths, grits his teeth, breaths again, opens his mouth, pants one more time (oh man this quip is going to be so good!)....Orange slices.

...You could FEEL the head tilt everyone did in the theater. Like "huh?

WOW!

Is all i can say about this fucking movie!
Its just as good as winter soilder and slightly better at the same time.

The plot totally thru me off when we learn that zemotrue motive was to break up the avengers and not review a dead army of winter solders.

The final battle had my heart pounding with how intense and brutal it was.
These were friends and allies borderline trying to kill each other and cap and tony weren't throwing any punches like they were in the first fight.

The Fighting and choreography was also fantastic.
My favorite was definitely bucky and cap kickin ass in bucky's apartment while using each almost instinctively to defend and attack at the same damn time.other.

And the did it again when they fought tony and it looked so damnnnnnnnnnnnn goood!

Lets not forget spider-man who also stole the show without them having him in the movie to much so he doesn't take all the spotlight.
Was also a nice touch how tony give him his proper spider suit that we all are so familiar with.

BEST MARVEL MOVIES SO FAR:

Civil War
Iron Man 1
Thor 1
Guardians Of the Galaxy
Ant Man

Fav quotes:

Ant man:
PYM WAS RIGHT, YOU NEVER CAN TRUST A STARK

Stark:
I'm sorry who are you

Ant man:

Bucky and falcon car scene

Bucky:
Can you move your seat up

Falcon:

Bucky and Cap also had really great chemistry on screen and the way the fought and talked to each other shows it.

>>
>>82563055
That was one of things that bugged me. It was a fight wasn't caused by them (except in the abstract sense that it was Ton'y fault for creating him), that they did everything to stop.

How many 9/11 firefighters get shit on for the people they couldn't help?
>>
>>82563055
I don't think they undid that, they just said they didn't save everybody. Even what Wanda did with Crossbones was an attempt to save people. She just couldn't contain the pressure any more when he was near the building. 11 people died vs the 30 plus that could have bought it on the ground.
>>
>>82563272
Not really the abstract sense at all.

Ultron was a project that the Avengers started. Stark had no oversight and just decided to dick around with an infinity stone (even if they didn't know it at the time, they didn't understand the thing).

Ultron was 100% Stark's fault. He tried to fix it though, which should have been more emphasized.
>>
>>82563245

It was inevitable that the main set piece was going to devolve into fan service banter. Everything from the initial framing of the two sides facing off and running toward each other that was shown off in a million commercials, even to Spidey making an appearance, arguably, signaled that.

It makes no sense for Bucky to be the only HYDRA assassin. They had to freeze him between missions because the conditioning would weaken if it wasn't refreshed every so often. They only brought him out for the most important missions. He's physically still pretty young, so he probably spent most of his time on ice. They wouldn't be very effective if they didn't have teams of trained soldiers like Rumlow and his team and were just counting on one guy to do all the work.
>>
>>82562518

If Tony had just asked Vision to keep an eye on her instead of putting her on house arrest, this whole thing could have been avoided.

>"Nah, wait, ugh, no I'm ok. I'm ok!" *Spidy tried to get up and follow Iron Man but falls back down."
>You're DONE.
>..Oh. Oh ok. Yeah, I'm done.

Honestly anything that had Spidy or Black Panther just standing on screen were the best parts. I just loved this young Peter, so likeable.

Also loved, "Guys, please, I have only one job to do right now and I really want to impress Mr. Stark." Like he was acting like he was at an office job and didn't just take out the Winter Solider and Falcon.

The Ant Man fight blew my fucking 12 year old mind. I gotta go watch his flick night. I skipped over it for some reason.
>>
>>82563907

Well no, that would have blown up in Tony' face too. If they played house together and then Client shows up to take her, and she goes with him willingly, she would be like WTF when Vision suddenly doesn't' allow her. Then of course Vision has to tell her that she can't actually leave, causing her to distrust Tony rather than just be annoyed with him.

>>
>>82563055
i haven't watched civil war yet but one of the things i LOVED about aou was its 'imperfect' ending.

they BLEW UP a city. the debris from such an event would be like 9/11 times 100.

that much debris has the capability of causing a localized nuclear winter, not to mention disrupting aircraft and potentially causing cancer with all the toxic particulate matter.

if marvel gets the f4 back, this could be THE event that brings dr doom out of the shadows.

the avengers saved the people of sokovia but not without totally fucking up eastern europe, the middle east and maybe even china.

do we know what caused the reported deaths?

That's the ultimate reason why Cap is right. There's no way you could find fault with what the Avengers did they operated in situations where millions of lives were at risk and kept casualties in the hundreds. There's no way you could find fault in that. The UN just wanted an excuse to get the Avengers under their control. If they wanted liability then fucking rein Tony in and ignore everyone else except Wanda. Everyone else has been entirely reactive and helpful and can be held accountable for NONE of the damage caused.

I could easily see them doing something with Zemo later, that maybe his father (or grandfather) was Hydra during WW2 and he has a longstanding hatred for Cap beyond just Sokovia, and then develop him into more of a supervillain from there. Alright, so what the fuck is up with the post-credits scenes?

I've seen multiple referred to by people online:
>Bucky picking up a shield
>Peter talking with Aunt May
>Spidey talking to a window cleaner
>Bucky going to sleep

Obviously I walked out of the movie too early. Did ALL these show? Or were they dependent on region? And how do I find them online?
>>
>>82567266

It was Bucky going to sleep in Wakanda and Spidey and Aunt May with a "SPIDEY WILL RETURN" teaser like holy shit a new spiderman movie??? no way.
>>
>>82567266
>Alright, so what the fuck is up with the post-credits scenes?
Bucky is frozen back in Wakanda and Tony installed some kind of spider signal in Peter's shooters.

IS THERE A MR. TONY STANK
>>
>>82567266
Mid credits was Bucky going back on ice with T'Challas help in Wakanda

Post credits was Peter telling aunt may he was in a fight with a guy named steve, who had a big friend. He then discovers his new webshooters have the Spidey Signal built into them

Isn't a quote but I loved the approving smile that Falcon and Bucky gave Steve after he kissed Sharon.

Fakes. The first one was around the same time the Sony leaks went out, a guy showed how he made it iirc.

Second one I've never seen before, but Bucky only had raccoon eyes/"domino" mask at the beginning of TWS.

The Avengers are a private military company with a conscience. They violate the sovereign borders of multiple nations, carrying out acts of wide spread destruction, and blatantly flaunt their lack of responsibility. They are not beholden to rules of engagement, humanitarian or international laws, it is only their relative ethics and morals that they have to guide them.

And what happens when a team of primarily US heroes sets off a major incident in a foreign country? Is the US responsible for their actions? Should the US arrest and extradite those individuals? Where is the avenue for recourse victims and whom should the justice system target?

Making the Avengers part of the UN was as much about giving them a cover and protection as it was about giving the nations of the world some measure of control. Even S.H.I.E.L.D. had to answer to someone.

It seemed that by the very end he knew, even if it wasn't something he wanted to admit. Even though he got kind of thrashed and he probably can't easily forgive Bucky, him fighting Cap could have been the catharsis their relationship needed to move forward.

You ever been really good friends with somebody but you hang out with them too much and you start to get on each others nerves and things escalate into a fight? Sometimes things break down there, but sometimes the friendship is stronger than ever after that.

>>82571082
Everything you mentioned is covered under pre-existing laws, just because no one felt like enforcing them in the four years the Avengers have operated does not place to blame on the Avengers.

Tony Stark violates multiple federal and state laws just by possessing the arc reactor. The Iron Man suit would get him busted for multiple weapons felonies. That's not even getting into the multiple lawsuits he'd be subjected to.
>>
>>82565236
It's like people said before. Peter is like a fusion of Steve and Tony. He has the best qualities of both. All he needs is a little more experience and wisdom and he'd be their ideal.
>>

>>
>>82572713

Well if Thor is going to work on a team that operates within earth borders, then he needs to be kept track by someone on earth... like literally anyone on earth.

Imagine being a person in the MCU and just not knowing where Thor is or what he is doing and just hoping he isn't dealing with another threat that was literally capable of destroying a universe
>>
>>82572713
>>82572762
Because he literally just comes from his world and does whatever he wants.

He claims he protects the Earth but each time he does he levels a city. Regardless if hes a higher being or from a different planet, the government should at least know where he is, when he'll be back, and have method of talking to him.

I'm not sure why she would try to use "remember those other times you tried to kill me?" as a way to stop making him choke her otherwise. I feel like there's a scene missing here that bridges this gap. The Avengers being part of the UN and being told where and where not to go has nothing to do with the collateral damage they cause.

Not to mention the UN panel thing is fucking dumb anyway. They're gonna gather a panel of people together every time a catastrophe happens and have a meeting about whether to mobilize the Avengers or not?

There's an underlying theme that it's really just a ploy to bring the Avengers to heel. They constantly talk about accountability, but there has never been anything stopping any of the countries of the world from pursuing legal or military action against the Avengers for operating without permission.

I'm a little confused on Wanda's powers still.

So she's a telepath (from Ultron), she can move objects (Guardians and Civil War), make force fields (Civil War) and now she can phase matter into being (Vision) and break a TON of concert? (pushing Vision down like 80 feet into the ground). What's the extent of her power? I know Scarlett Which is hella powerful, like when she just thought of killing all the mutants and did just that.
>>
>>82573400

Yup. How did I NOT see that sooner?! Why did people say it was like Iron Man? Wasn't anything like it. I love you Scott. It's amazing how he was tiny in Ant Man and then they saved the big bad ass mama jamba for Civil War. Wouldn't have been NEARLY as awesome to see him fight and going huge if he did it before.

I don't like that the movie seems to imply that everyone is afraid of Wanda because of her powers... but its like just the government and mostly because she threw up Rumlow as a bomb.

Like when I heard about Marc Bernardin saying how the relationship between Vision and Wanda begin to blossom because he isn't afraid of her, well he isn't but it doesn't really seem like anyone else on team is either. Hell, Cap seems to be entirely friendly to her during the mission and after it.

>>
>>82573511
This is not complicated, I don't know why people are confused.

Her powers are telepathy and telekinesis.

Forcefields are telekinesis. Force blasts are telekinesis.

AoU established that even though Vision is an android, she can read his mind. Thus, she could control it (or the Mind Gem, they may be one and the same, who knows how he actually works)

One of Vision's powers is controlling his own density, it's how he walks through walls. He can also go super-dense.

She made him make himself super-dense and crash through the ground with mind control, which is telepathy.

To be fair, most people don't know Vision's power is density manipulation and it's never really explained well in the movies.

Him being turned super dense is the first time we see him like this.
>>
>>82574062
Honestly, the Raft seems WAY less "brutal" than a real prison. I mean, it's not quite solitary, they can talk to each other, but they still got the place to themselves and don't have to worry about the assholes in gen pop.
>>
>>82561868
>mfw he actually drops it

I feel that small interaction, both being stupid and over-emotional, is still great at highlighting who both of those characters are.
>>
>>82574115
Yeah that's fair, them having never once actually said what Vision's powers are in the films is kind of a problem for obscure a character as he is.
>>
>>82569065
That line was so fucked up. Also it was pretty funny considering Sebastian Stan is literally from Romania and was speaking his native language to that dude in the street shop. I caught him saying "Multumesc" for the plum at the end of his chat.

At the same time, it's not just that scene.

People have been asking what Wanda's movie powers are since AoU and Maria Hill fucking said them out loud, it's just that people only heard the second half of that sentence, "he's fast and she's weird" and ignored the first half where she literally fucking says "telepathy and telekinesis".

How come Bucky didn't wear a glove on his other hand when killing the Starks? Even if the car crash seemed a reasonable explanation it's usual to test for foul play, especially for important government figures. That shit would've left fingerprints.

Don't think too hard, it would have been painfully obvious the both of them were killed by someone, especially Tony's mother.

I just assumed they burned with the car since we could see some flames after the crash.

A little, but I figured it was a holdover from the comics when Tony got the posthumous letter about Bucky. I'm surprised they incorporated as much from it as they did. I didn't expect to see the "No you move" speech show up. And I think it actually worked better as a Peggy speech given the context.

Steve, you almost murdered a man who considered himself to be a good friend of yours. >>
>>82574348
>almost murdered

Tony had the shrapnel and arc reactor removed at the end of IM3. All his friends would know this because there's not a giant glowing circle under every t-shirt he wears anymore.

The end of the fight tells you everything you need to know here: Tony freaked and covered his face 'cause he though Steve was about to kill him, but Steve aims for the arc reactor instead because he just wants to disable the suit. Yes, it was a very personal fight and they both beat each other to exhaustion, but at least one of them was never fighting to kill.

that hasn't been the case for years, he got that removed years ago, he doesn't even have an internal arc reactor any more, it was just a suit

Marvel Studios doesn't have the rights to call characters mutants for as long as Fox holds the X-Men license, so now they're a Hydra experiment instead.

Wanda and Pietro were volunteers because their parents were killed with Stark missiles back when he was still a war profiteer.

Did you not see Age of Ultron?
>>
>>82574420
No, this only comes up in one short scene at the end of the movie.

Honestly it's kinda shit because they don't explain HOW surgery can solve the fucking problem of Tony having a hole in his sternum the size of a soup can.

You can ASSUME he used Extremis on himself and then removed it afterward the same way he removed it from Pepper, but it's retarded of them to not say it out loud, and for that matter to not actually give Tony a permanent Extremis upgrade since that was the ENTIRE reason Extremis was created in the comics
>>

>>
>>82574463
Iron Man 1 implied it was a huge empty cavity to his heart due to the prosthetic, but I got the impression it was just a skin-level supermagnet keeping the shrapnel from tunneling deeper into his sternum.

They didn't dive into it since the gem is enough of an explanation, but I wonder if the implication is supposed to be that they're Inhumans.

Or maybe would be under different circumstances, at least. It makes some sense that they could still get powers after being "activated" the wrong way.
>>
>>82574584
Feige doesn't care for the Inhumans. I think "they got magic from a stone like Cap and Bucky got powers from a serum" works well enough without the need to drag in Inhuman genetics.
>>
>>82574463
Same way Clint is healed at the start of Age of Ultron.

Now a better question, why can't they use that tech on Rhodes?
>>
>>82574675
The fact that Rhodey's leg braces seemed more like support than an automated walking system to make up for the fact that he has zero motor control in his legs makes it seem like he did get healed somewhat. Plus there's all these recent articles lately about people with lower body paralysis regaining the ability to walk and even bike with nerve regeneration therapy. We have that technology in the real world.
>>

They were mentioned to be HYDRA elites, so they were probably naturally like that and the serum enhanced it like they did with Blonsky.
