It won't. The 3rd world countries all say it's great. I'm inclined to believe it must at least pretty good.
>>
>>82473798
It likely won't be as bad as Ant-Man, Iron Man 3, or the Thor movies but every MCU movies tends to be overhyped. At best it will be a solid but forgettable action movie.

it happened with zootopia too.
(mexican here, saw it, it was good, pretty disney-like but it has blood and spiderman)
>>
>>82473798
It sucks, but it has all you want.

Quips, terrible and simplistic plot thats the vehicle for more quips, a captain america without any character trait other than muh bucky, an extended SM cameo made by some cgi doll, shitty edition, forgettable villain, quirkiness, choreography downgraded from TWS. 12 characters and no one is ever at risk other than Bucky making it a very low stakes movie.

But you will love it.

Disney does this because North America is the most important market and they maximize hype by making everyone wait.

Brit Bong here.

Just got back from seeing it, the reviews over-hype the airport fight and general quality of the movie, but both are still really good.

The thing that stood out to me was the last fight between Cap and Shell-head. It gets REALLY visceral by the end, to the point that I was nearly fooled when they make you think Steve has just put his shield through Tony's face for a moment.

Black Panther was good, not much on his powers, he's just another martial artist but with the power to grow his nails, otherwise very regal and noble.
Spiderman was fucking great, but it's only a brief teaser with him really. Tony and Pete have a great dynamic.

You can feel the Russo's influence compared to Whedon, people quip but it's not taking up half the script and the action is way better than Ultron.

Pretty great overall, one of the better Marvel movies, just don't get over-hyped by the reviews.
>>
>>82474204
Plus ANTS and Hawkeye.

Everyone else is seriopus bussines and humor around them comes from sitations rather than quipping.
>>
>>82473798
Movie's very good, It's not as great as TWS, but comes really close.

Leagues better than Age of Ultron.
>>
>>82476050
>Spiderman was fucking great, but it's only a brief teaser with him really

I've heard people say he has about 30 minutes of screentime. Was that a lie?
>>
>>82474204

They all quip, just not the same way as with the Whedon flicks.

Spidey is just the only one where it's intentionally annoying, Falcon and Bucky keep trying to shut him up but he's on another level and just keeps shutting them down.
>>
>>82476050
While I agree that the final fight was pretty good, I didn't really enjoy everything preceding that. It felt very very inoffensive and mediocre, in my opinion.
>>
>>82476114
no. 30 mins approx.
it was good but of course you'll be wanting more
>especially after the 2nd post credits scene
>>
>>82473798
If it sucks then Marvel will switch directors again, because they're capable of doing so and aren't locked into one creative team's vision for the entirety of their franchise's lifespan.
>>
>>82476114

Sounds about right.

10 minute intro scene with Tony.
20 minute fight scene at the airport before Tony sends him home.

Also, Tony is on a break with Pepper and starts hitting on Aunt May. It's pretty based.
>>
>>82476114
More like 20 minutes.
>>
>>82476114
Nah 30 mins is about right. And honestly the right amount for the movie. There's little more Parker could have done. This isn't a "let's not take Quicksilver the instnt win with us on our major mission" thing.
>>
>>82476162
>20 minute fight scene at the airport before Tony sends him home.

Speaking of the fight scene
I really wanted to see how Spider-Man would fight against Scarlet Witch, I wanted to see Spidey throw webs but have Scarlet 'catch' them and throw them back.
>>
>>82473798

>>
>>82476266
At least he jumped off of some of her cars.
>>
>>82476266

They don't sadly.

Scarlet Witch proves to be pretty op earlier on when she just switches Vision off and sends him through the earth to China.

So in the fight, those two just kind of vanish and are assumingly fighting each other because they'd probably solo each others teams otherwise.

Wanda just shows up occasionally to save people from getting crushed and throw some cars at Rhodey (he gets a bad time of it as usual).

Hawkeye is amazing for what time he's in the movie, he's probably the snarkiest in the film and is pretty much playing the team's father role again.
>>
>>82476452
Cheadle only gets two whole scenes where he actually has to act in the entire movie and he even gets the shaft in the action scenes too. He's either trying to knock Cap out with a stun rod or getting bitched out by ANTS Man.

MCU Rhodey deserves so much better. The only times he's been remotely badass were the bits in Iron Man 3 where he was just going around shooting people without any armor, the minute he gets his suit back he's babysitting the President. The Russo's do give him some time to shine but it's not enough to make up for past shit. Compared to how they've handled Falcon and you just get a glimpse of what Rhodey should be.

If you count his first appearance and the last, yes 30 min.
If you count only his total amount of time in the screen, you got like 8 minutes of peter talking and like 6 of Spider-man action and not using his fucking Spider-Sense. He got like3 or 4 hits that he could pretty much avoid all of them.
>>
>>82473798
Nah, it's Donald Trump's movie so it's impossible for it to be suck. "Let's make America great again" guys, Hell Yeah.
>>
>>82474095
The only thing you got right is about Cap, he really is a piss poor character in this one. Zemo may not be a good character or Villian but he is decent enough and even considered a good Villian for MCU.

Third World Fag here (Ecuador, to be specific). It's pretty good. Probably the best MCU movie.
>>
>>82477643
I would have liked a little more of him pointing out that the last time he trusted a governmental organisation it turned out that half of them were Hydra the entire fucking time and were the reason why Bucky did the shit that he did.

It would have at least helped explain quite why he was SO against signing up.
>>
I saw it, it was fine.
>>
>>82477970
But we already know that shit about Cap.

I'm not gonna claim "2deep4u" bullshit but this is a continuing movie univerese, we don't need that level of spoonfeeding when it comes to plot and characters, especially since TWS is still a very recent film.
>>
>>82478134
not that guy, but it would be a more reasonable argument in that moment to moment conversation
>>
Saw it and I can honestly say it doesn't.

I'm not gonna hype it up as "GREATEST STORY EVER DONE!", but it was a very enjoyable film and did something I thought was impossible: break the curse of the 3rd movie.
>>
It's the best parts of The Avengers crossed with the best parts of The Winter Soldier.

And if you don't like either of those, then why the fuck are you going to see Civil War anyway?

>>

I get the point, and It was nice on the Tony side to acknwoledge him fucking the world with Ultron and his adiction to being Iron Man replacing his promise to Pepper at the end of IM3, but anyone following these movies should eb able to infer on his own all those obvious motivations, instead of waiting for the script to go "water=wet" every now and then.

things I'm not hyped about in the future of MCU
>Black Panther movie might be really Bucky-centric, which feels unnecessary, especially because he really doesn't do much without Cap
>status quo is basically reset at the end of CW, pretty much nothing has changed. they should have at least committed to killing off Rhodey, or at least put him in a coma or something. CW was an awesome ride that didn't really amount to anything in the end. I hope I'm wrong and that they will come up with something.
>Bucky's character is all used up, there is nothing more interesting about him, yet Marvel seems committed to putting him in a fuckton of sequels

things I am hyped about

>T'Challa is cool
>Scarlet Witch a.k.a. best girl is getting established as a significant mainstay

Guaranteed this movie will be like Spider-Man 3 and TDKR: People love it at first but a year or so later will go on to despise it and call it the worst movie of the trilogy and among the most embarrassing superhero movies ever.

it already opened everywhere but the US, i saw it already and it's the best superhero movie yet, even with robert cringey jr in it.
>>
>>82479650

I don't care if someone dies but Rhodes is a retarded choice

Captain America would be the GOAT choice in a GOAT marvel film, he's already proven himself to be the best Avenger so his death would actually be meaningful

Killing off powerful characters when people like black widow are running around getting 5000 kills just makes it seem like people die because of favouritism of the writers not actual stakes or danger caused by the villain
>>
It's fucking great
Ant-man steals the show in a single scene though, seriously. It makes parker swear
>>
Being the first MCU movie I saw in the cinema, I was surprised at the lack of big crowd reactions, could be something to do with it being UK and not US though.

Surprisingly the biggest pop was a laugh when Bucky and Sam (I think) reacted to Steve kissing Sharon
>>
>>82480047

I still like Spider-man 3 to this day... (I think I'm the only person that had reasonable expectations for it)

>>

>>
>>82480237
Killing him off wouldn't be great, because he has to come back for Infinity War. Then we'd get people bitching about death having no meaning.
Also the movie ends up with the Avengers all fucked up and the bad guy winning anyway, that's a low enough point to come back from.

I said in a GOAT marvel film, we haven't had it yet......

They can kill him off in the last Avengers film of Phase 3 is what I meant

Captain America is my favourite character of all time and I'm so happy I got 5 films out of him which I love them all, I wouldn't even be upset if I couldn't see him in any more films as long as he went out with a good performance in a good movie

The're a reason they casted a kid that young as SM, I can see Iron Man and the Cap being retired for a while or passed on as legacies, but you can bet your ass Disney and Feige intend to keep this up for years if it's still as profitable as it is today.

I really liked it, but it's really not Civil war. It's Winter Soldier 2 (Feat. Spidey).

The best part is in the middle, and there's a lot of fat that could have been trimmed.

But ultimately, it's still very good. I'd rank it up there with Winter Soldier.

And unfortunately that's the best part. The film doesn't even have an ending.
>>
Cap has a bad ending in every single movie of his trilogy

>First Avenger - loses bucky and sacrifices himself
>Winder Solder - finds out his best friend is still alive but is an assassin and discovers Hydra is still alive, living within his new home SHIELD
>Civil War - Peggy dies and his new family is torn apart as he desperately tries to hold onto Bucky

UK here, saw it last Friday. Best MCU movie yet. Solid villain and a very dark ending compared to the usual MCU movies. Still plenty of quips but not Whedon-tier. CGI for Spidey was shit and the opening fight had way too much shaky cam. Other than that it was solid.

The Bucky story was just the representation of their ideological split. Christ.

Because I don't think I've ever looked at a superheroes mask and felt the need to double check that the actor underneath it's eyes match up.

It looks fine. If you go ahead and put an image of Tom Hollands face on it, it looks a little bit off, but not in any way that most people would notice unless they obsessed over it.

Or have you failed to notice that literally noone else is bringing it up?

Is everyone else the autist for not noticing, or are you for inspecting the costume for any detail you can complain about, no matter what the lengths you have to go to to prove it?

It's not even THAT noticeable even now you have pointed it out
>>
>>82483389
>I went in team cap, left the theater team tony stark.

That's the thing, in both the comic and the movie, Tony was right.

In the movie, he was on the right all along, until it became about vengeance.

>>
>>82484302
>Yeah but you can actually see his face under the mask, it's not the same for Spider-Man

I'm with you. Like I said, it's still too close.

I have a lot of issues with it, mind you, but I'm too elated by finally having a proper Spidey on film (not a fan of either of the previous Spider-Man film series, though I concede Maguire's is not bad in general, just not my thing).

Just today I talked to a friend who absolutely hated GotG, and we concluded our differences were due to me being a fan of the characters already, him not knowing them at all, and the movie having no real connection to the rest of the MCU at that point. That and him being a fucking casual.

That said, I'd like to know why you didn't like it.

And yes, DD may actually be the best MCU thing. I put it lower due to the others being arguably more "important" in various ways.

There were a couple of reasons. I know the movie was kind of an origin of the team but still I didn't like how Peter was in it, he was just a bit too lighthearted and by the end when he said he'd lead them I wasn't convinced of any leadership qualities. I didn't find Drax or Gamorrah to be interesting enough, I didn't like this version of the Nova Corps I'm hoping they all get killed in a sequel and we get Richard in Infinity War, and Mantis and Adam Warlock not being in it kind of disappointed me. A sequel definitely has the potential to win me over and I'm looking forward to one, but yeah I liked most of everything else in the movie though

Few of the costumes in the Marvel films are very practical. There are many obvious problems with Iron Man's helmet, but we ignore them because it looks good. Spider-Man and Black Panther should have trouble breathing, but they seem to have no issues with that at all. Speaking of breathing, the fact that Tony suffocated and fell unconscious when he went into space in The Avengers implies that his suit did not have an internal breathing mechanism, which begs the question of how he's able to breathe when he's flying around and mach speed (I'm gonna assume that the reason he's not crushed by the G-forces because the suit prevents that somehow.) Peter's line about how Cap's shield doesn't obey the laws of physics is kind of hypocritical considering his web-shooters.

In the MCU, practicality does not matters. What matters is whether it looks cool. That's it, that is all that matters.
>>
>>82481701
Wanda has by far the hardest and most arcane power to control, way beyond any other character in the MCU.

Also, the only power that can fuck up Thanos.

One of the possible consequences of Civil War will be Wanda leaving Earth.

We all know Wanda's not gonna be the one to defeat Thanos. That's gonna be either Steve, Tony or Peter. Casuals aren't gonna go to the theater to watch a Literally Who (from their perspective) beat the bad guy.
>>
>>82488620
>Speaking of breathing, the fact that Tony suffocated and fell unconscious when he went into space in The Avengers implies that his suit did not have an internal breathing mechanism

Or maybe it was because space is really fucking cold and he was just in a regular Iron Man suit.

If by "millennial" you mean "literally born in this millennium", then yes.
>>
>>82488731
I thought he solved the icing problem.
>>
>>82488178
That's all perfectly reasonable.

I agree that the characters were portrayed a bit different from the comics, but in general the deviation wasn't much bigger than it was with Iron Man (as he was in the comics at the time of the film's release). Other than Drax being dumb, Peter was indeed the one furthest from his original character.

I still found him enjoyable enough to let me love the rest of the movie, but I must say that I HATE what the comics did with the characters after the movie. They took these personalities and dialed them to 11, completely destroying whatever made them good enough to get people interested in a movie about them. Fucking Bendis, man.

Ronan was pretty bad, too, but what is there left to say about Marvel villains that aren't Loki?

As for Mantis: barefoot or don't bother.
>>
Only sympathetic characters in CW are Bucky and Wanda. They get no real choice and are repeatedly fucked over by Russian and American cunts who are worse than Hydra.

Tony, Cap, and others all get to make choices so its harder to sympathize with their degrees of stupid.

You can stretch it to mean kids from the very late 90's, but yeah.

Truth be told, I expected it to settle somewhere around 80-85% on RT.

Mexifag here, people at the theater loved it. I liked it a lot, but it truly is Marvel Studios at its best (fun, action-packed, respectfully comic-booky, coherent) and at its worst (not self-contained, slightly forced, nothing really changes, acts as a long trailer for the next installment).
>>
>>82489014

There's a good chance the BP film's plot will have some connection to Bucky somehow (Cap's line to T'Challa sounds like pretty blatant foreshadowing), but chances are he'll be a frozen macguffin the whole time so not in a position to take any attention away from T'Challa. We're more likely to see Falcon be a side character than him.
>>
>>82488178
Same sort of. Rocket was easily my favorite character of the cast followed by Groot, but Gamora was forgettable, Drax's jokes didn't land most of the time, and Peter Quill came off as an insufferable sleazeball instead of the lovable rogue he was intended to be. Not knocking on Chris Pratt's performance though. For me it was more of a writing issue.

Oh, and Nebula was a lot cooler than Ronan. Shame Korrath got wasted like that.
>>
>>82489782
Does Bucky get any good scenes beside the car one or is he in perpetual angst/fight/job mode the whole time? He was such a cool dude in the first Cap and the Winter Soldier flashback so I want more stuff like that where he and Steve are just being bros.

Why is Tony acting like B.A.R.F. was just a pointless waste of cash to absolve himself of some grief? That shit would have an insane amount of other kinds of applications. Even if he intended it for self-therapy, he could still use it for all sorts of other shit.
>>
>>82491940
It wasn't much of an adaptation at all. It took two things from the actual Civil War arc of the comics: A government-enforced registration for superheroes, and Captain America VS Iron Man. There has never, ever been a licensed comic book movie that was a 1:1 adaptation of any particular arc.

It's the price tag and how it would've been untenable if he hadn't been a super rich scientist. He agrees with your sentiment, he just knows that the sheer amount of money that would be needed to develop it would scare most investors of. Which is why he gave all those MIT kids those grants.

Why didn't they slice off Bucky's metal arm when they brought him in? Isn't disarming the suspect standard procedure, pun totally intended? Why would you allow the prisoner to KEEP the metal arm that could probably crush a man's skull in half a second if he so chose?
>>
>>82492298
Do they consider it a proper weapon or a mere prosthetic?
>>
>>82492327
If he can smash your face in with it, then it should be considered a weapon. Take no chances. That guy would be dangerous even if his arm WASN'T metal. I mean, they put him in a contraption that made him entirely immobile anyway, so they might as well go the extra mile and remove the robot arm. Unless it has pain receptors, I doubt it would hurt him if they sliced it apart.
>>
>>82492360
The UN shooting a guy on sight is already pretty sketchy. Sawing a prisoner's arm off? Yeesh. Plus, they were still trying to get Steve to sign at that point.

It's a robot arm. I'm sure even Steve would understand. They could get him a less dangerous prosthetic in exchange. I'm sure Tony would agree to making one. A mechanical arm that has all the convenience of a normal arm with half a fraction of the crushing force.

Saw it last week (exactly a week ago) and really enjoyed it, lots of feels, lots of action sequences. Manages to still be coherent while location-hopping a lot (although that font was distracting and horrible) and also while dealing with so many characters. Every character got the right amount of focus and had their time to shine, showcasing their abilities.
T'Challa was amazingly well done and didn't feel tacked on, but rather an integral part of the story while also setting up his own solo movie. Russos nailed Spidey with only ~30 minutes of screen time.
They even made it still feel like a Cap movie rather than an Avengers 2.5.

Beanerino here, Michael Peña was a strong support character and he imprinted the movie with personality, if anything all the support members of the cast did. Unlike Man of Steel in which Morpheus plays a weak Perry for literally no reason, it feels like wasted star power, or worse, a reason to inflate the budget of the film with a wasted slot. Not only Morpheus adds nothing to the film, he could had been replaced by just about any extra.

Just watched Civil War a few minutes ago. It was great but I feel BvsS did a better job on the philosophical aspect of the argument. Civil War kinda sidesteps it because no one is entirely wrong.

Spoiler
Buckey killed Tony's parents, so he is just like batman now
>>
>>82482007
He was lying, his plan was to use the members of the old WS project to inflict pain to the avengers, for a second I thought they were the serpent society or the wrecking crew...well he was wrong, his other plan was to have Cap and Tony duke it out.

The question however is why didn't Buckey apologize and take the beating like a man, him running like a bitch was kinda weird.

>Civil War kinda sidesteps it because no one is entirely wrong.
That's the thing, there is no right or wrong. Both Steve and Tony believe they are doing the right thing. The emotion is there between this clash of ideals and team mates. The philosophical/mythological approach in the DCEU by Snyder works for that franchise because it's been the motif since the very beginning, well only MoS and then followed by BvS. With the MCU you have, what, 13 movies prior? They still deal with major themes such as the aforementioned clash of ideals and points of view, but also the theme of vengeance. It's literally spelled out for you at the end when T'Challa comforts a suicidal Zemo.
>>
>>82492744
Tony wasn't trying to hurt him. He was trying to kill him.
>>
>>82492552
Personally after having watched CW, BvsS as over the top as it was made for a better spectacle, and a better popcorn flick.

Don't get me wrong, Civil War is awesome, and when Lang goes huge it was fucking awesome. The movie has so many great moments, and the narrative, story telling, story boarding are rock solid, but it feels really heavy, it really makes use of everything it got, it feels like the Avengers movie we should had got more than a captain america movie...however it was not much of a civil war, it really feels like an avengers movie, the entire point about security vs freedom is kinda set aside.

It is hard to tell who was right, I guess Tony? Since there would not had been a consequence to Steve accepting arrest, and Zemo would eventually be captured, but Steve did not know the subjects were euthanized, no one did, so he could had been right had the additional WS subjects had been alive, but he then got played.

Tony was right to enforce the rules, and throw the book on Cap. It feels that, had not been for Zemo, everything Tony was saying would had work, while Cap feels like he is nothing but a hothead.

If anything the argument about security and freedom is set aside for an argument about justice vs revenge which T'Challa resolves. Not sure if that was smarter or if everyone got played.
>>
>>82492801
I don't think Tony would had kill him, but after Rhoney was blasted the fuck out, he would had beaten the guy to pulp, but I doubt he had kill him.

>>82492746
>Both Steve and Tony believe they are doing the right thing.
Just let me set that the movie was so much smarter than the comic it is shameful two shitty events have the name of this movie, that said it does not feel that the argument is that sound, and if anything Tony was right again, but I do agree everything was wrap up nicely, but I feel

Steve breaking everyone out robbed the film of the impact it otherwise would had made, it was mostly consequence free, and Tony and Steve are cool at the end of it. I feel Winter Soldier was much more stronger, and had a larger impact on what is relatively the same theme, if anything I guess Tony is the counterpoint to WS theme, he is the power in the right hands, and accountability met with sense, instead of recklessness and rebellion Steve showed through the movie.

I am not saying that is bad, it is just that WS made a large impact on me than CW.

Oh I agree I thought TWS was better than CW but CW still deals with major themes and is extremely emotional

>that said it does not feel that the argument is that sound
What did you mean by this? Which argument?

Getting real fucking triggered about how captain america could damage iron man in any way.
The first functioning suit stark made could take a tank hit, crash to the ground and get back up no problem.
Now his suit number stoppe counting long ago is getting fucked by fist punches and a rounded shield.

It should be like a kid flailing at a guy in mideval armor, just kick the brat.

>>82492940
>Just let me set that the movie was so much smarter than the comic it is shameful
>and if anything Tony was right again
Tony was about as wrong as possible. Tony believes that powers need oversight, but then argues against how said oversight intends to proceed. He also gets them to agree to bring them in alive and then tries to murder them instead.

But that is pretty minor compared to how hypocritical he is. Scarlet tries to stop a bad guy from doing a bad thing, people get hurt, lock her up Vision. Vision tries to stop a "bad guy" from stopping persuit, Brody gets hurt, lets not do SHIT to Vision. Then, Tony KNOWS that Winter Solder was mind-raped into horrible shit for 1/2 a century, and that getting mad at him is like getting mad at a gun. His beef is with the people who ordered it, why, etc. Instead, GRAH IRON MAN SMASH. Funny how Tony didn't seem to mind when Winter Soldier was killing OTHER people's parents.

Fuck Iron Man. He is written as a retard since Iron Man 3, and his motivations make no real sense.
>>
>>82493036
Too bad they didn't get that many scenes together. Two isn't enough.
>>
>>82493100
Steve could only damage Tony using the shield, which is composed of a material that's far harder than any Iron Man suit. Steve also has super strength.

Which reminds me, Steve could, with tremendous effort, ground a fucking helicopter. Peter is physically stronger than Steve, so you gotta wonder what the fuck HE could do.
>>
>>82493128
Steve was trying to protect Wanda because he couldn't get her the same protection he could get everyone else. Wanda's not a United States citizen, so she's on shakier waters. Grounding her was, from Tony's perspective, the best compromise he could make without getting the government all up in her face.

And Tony's reaction when he saw his parents get murdered was pure emotion. He'd just been through a shitton of stress and now he just saw his mom get strangled to death by the guy standing right next to him. Do you think YOU could keep your composure? If you actually say that you'd be able to keep yourself from fucking murdering Bucky right then and there if you were in Tony's shoes, you're a goddamn liar.

I always thought Vibranium was the toughest material in existence, tougher than Adamantium. Which is why everyone is so desperate to get their hands on it.

I mean Black panther has a suit made from it, basically making him invincible.

Is Vibranium like what I'm describing? Or is there something better than it?

Why does Bucky look so retarded when he runs? The disparity between awesome stuntman guy launching himself from a window and barreling down hallways and Sebastian Stan with his weird fat guy trot is hilarious.
>>
>>82493227
In the comics, Vibranium and Adamantium have different properties. Vibranium nullifies all kinetic force, whereas Adamantium is just really, really fucking hard.

In the movies, Vibranium is basically Adamantium and does whatever the fuck it feels like. It's never consistent, ever, other than its apparent indestructibility.
>>
>>82493200
I do think I could stop myself. Its not like he hasn't know for a long time what Bucky's deal was. He had more than enough time to process that information so that emotions wouldn't cloud reality enough to make him a murderer (some more).

Tony's perspective was to give her a nicer jail. But Vision is not even human, let alone a citizen. But he gets a pass when he cripples somebody.
>>
>>82493227
Adamantium is better, once it hardens it doesn't fucking break.
Vibranium is just great at absorbing kinectic energy or some shit, you saw how panther could scratch it.
>>
>>82493272
Technically, Vision is the property of Tony Stark. The government probably isn't even fully aware of what he is.

He turned his entire life around because he realized that he was responsible for massive death. That is the kind of thing that would impact you at a core level.

And regardless of that fact, he is all about the accords so that governments can decide how to use his/avenger powers, and then immediately ignores his orders to capture and tries to kill.

It isn't justifiable.

I really hate listening to Sebastian Stan talk in interviews. High pitched and gravel don't make for a good combo when speaking and he's always drawing his words out like he's drunk. Weirdly enough he sounds totally fine when he's talking in the movies.
