Would this issue be a good introduction into the Sonichu series? Like, if someone wanted to experience Sonichu or at least the gist of it but only had the time or patience to read one.
It's kind of in the middle of an arc but I think this offers good examples on a lot of themes Sonichu is built on, presented in a way that gives the most understanding as well as invoking the most emotional response.

Rosechu, clearly a fictional creation of his, shows up as a character, along with a scrapbook of all his Sonichu ideas INCLUDING Rosechu. And the human woman is not portrayed along with Rosechu, further giving the impression that she is some imaginary friend. This would supply the reader with something to speculate on: just what IS the world of Sonichu? The real world that shows his imaginary friends? Are they JUST imaginary or do they exist as living corporeal beings in this world? How did that happen? Is it a Toy Story sort of thing where they somehow just came to life? Or is this what Silent Hill is like when a high-functioning autist just happens to be passing through?

I know a kid who's basically a Chris Chan, right down to his parents fighting to mainline him through school, but the difference was they worked tirelessly with him to understand how to behave and react out in society. His parents weren't 50 when he was born so he got to grow up with brothers, they socialized him as much as they could, they made fucking lists for him so he knows how to take care of himself without being instructed to shave and wipe, and he's still annoying as shit and has no friends, but fuck if he isn't a tolerable, clean, reasonably useful person.

Chris isn't actually that far down on the autism spectrum. I've met severely autistic people, and they often had trouble with even speaking outside of inarticulate grunts (they could type messages just fine, though). Chris's autism is indeed more in the high-functioning/Aspergers/whatever the term for it is these days range. That seems like a good summary of it. I feel like to truly be canon, it has to perfectly encapsulate a certain type of culture, such that it recurs over and over and remains relevant and comparable. "All Your Base" is that because it encapsulated wacky remixes, video game nostalgia, and translation conventions. CWC encapsulates LOLcowing, autistic culture, sociopolitical conflicts, the degeneration of the Sonic fandom, webcomics, fanfic, and fanart. There's something in that saga that touches on every aspect of bottom-dreg internet culture, and that's what made it so fascinating.

Back then, autism wasn't as widely known/diagnosed and Chris's parents thought that Chris being in special ed classes would result in him getting institutionalized. Had Chris been born a few years later, he'd probably be diagnosed with Aspergers.

I think it would have been better for Chris if he had never discoverd the internet (or the internet never discoverd him). He would have ended up as a local village idiot, but not as completely fucked up as he is today. DESU, when I heard first from him I thought for the longest time that all of this was just an elaborate hoax. Lately I realized something, the thing why he is so fascinating to me is, well I don´t know how to put it, I wonder how far off from me is he? I think I myself have a mild form of autism, and in my late teens, early twenties I had a phase which I refer to as my "Chris-Chan" phase.
