Zombie Simpsons are mostly good when they're not trying to be funny and more like meaningful between characters.

I thought A Tree Grows in Springfield was on par with some of classic Simpsons. Not great or good classic Simpsons, low-tier classic Simpsons, but that's still way better than most tv.

Gaimen claiming he couldn't read was pretty funny but I liked how it brought together a bunch of B and C list character for a crazy stunt. Bart and Homer being crafty is actually what made this episode really nice, rather than them being complete morons all the time, if you watch The Book Job and line up their personalities with every other Zombie Simpsons episode you'd see a really big change.
