this. She was definitely never mentally sound but she was also never a super dangerous killer; the only time I can think of when she killed that wasn't out of self-defense was in her solo book when she killed some guards to break out of Arkham.

Ironically Neo-Harley is more of a killer than old Harley. Old Harley blinded one kid and turned herself in to Arkham; Neo-Harley bombed a bunch of kids.

I'm with you on this however at the same time, I find it annoying when I have to explain EVERYTHING in detail. My dad is sorta like your "rare" pokemon card, you don't see it often but it's out there kind of deal while we are the super fucking rare cards.

Point is, I can tell my dad all about The Flash or all about the recent Batman issue I read and he would get everything going on, maybe ask me a few things but essentially, he would get it. I'm not saying to be a comic book beta snob, no you can be casual too. but at the same time, once you get deep into something, you hear a "normie" talking about it, you auto think"he has no idea what he's talking about."

Everyone does it. Even car guys do it.

4chan is infested with hipsters who hate agreeing with what the majority thinks, so they think the opposite so they can feel euphoric and enlightened by their intelligence. You think /co/ is bad? /tv/ is the worst. They have no real opinions, that like and dislike something based entirely on how popular something is.
>>

This is why you left /tv/ and landed here, where no hipsters or casuals exist...

How am I an asshole? If I see someone with a batman or superman shirt, I assume they are a normie dude bro and don't even talk to them. If I see a Flash shirt, or any other super hero shirt, then I know they can relate.

The other day I met this woman with the exact same Nightwing shirt as me. It's a custom made Nightwing logo shirt I got. THAT tells me that she could tell me anything more or less about Dick Grayson. That's my point. You can spot the normies and the comic book nerds easily.
So sorry if I don't wanna talk to you about something you're just going to give me an excuse of"I don't have TIME to read a comic book! but I'd rather see the movies!"

I'd rather have a cool conversation about the Justice League than some guy saying"what about that 1 galaxy thing with the little guys and the green lanterns, are they with the Avengers?"

>>82437460
Logically, it makes you look like poser. It's like the when I was a teen and other teens would wear skatboarding clothing and not actually board at all. I did for a short time, sucked at it, and only wore the shoes. I knew kids who never touched the games, or the boards, or even walked into a skate shop and wore DC clothing, and Girl brands this, spitfire logo that. They didn't have a damn clue.

the fact that you are OK with it shows you're not a fan of anything at all. Yes, this is the asshole side of me now. Normally, I'm ok with it, but right now, it's kind of annoying. Why? Again, I would rather talk to someone like a hipster who's read every Spiderman issue vs some dude who is like "Dude! Bro! Did you see the Batman V Superman movie! I'm like such a nerd now!"

If you don't get the point now, you never will.

Normally the store has to sell non-nerdy things that the nerds don't care about like rock shirts from the 80's and vinyls of records that normies would like that make them feel cool cause they own a record player that is actually their mom's.

Right?

It's funny, because a lot of those games on Nintendo systems have more hardcore appeal than games on other systems. Shit like the Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, DKC:TF, are all harder and more skill-based than a lot of the stuff on PS4/Xbone/PC. And then there's stuff like Smash 4 or Pokken Tournament which are competitive fighting games (well, Smash CAN be competitive at least), which is almost inherently more hardcore than most other genres.

>It's like when Pokken got released, they knew that they were gonna get away with it being only 16 characters and a short story cause they knew normies would fall in love with a new Pokmeon game
Hey man, let's not knock Pokken. It's a pretty good game and I think it was only 16 characters cuz that shit is actually more expensive than you might think. It should've had like, 20 but whatever.
>>
>>82451096
We talked about this on /vp/ sometime ago, 1/2 agreed that it was lame as fuck that we only get 16 characters to fight as while smash has 50 or street fighter does too. So why jew us out on it? That's not fair. Maybe it is more expensive to make but it's not like nintendo or tekken doesn't have the money for it. The game is nice, I agree. I was excited too but when you get period mewtwo and mexican pikachu as extras, that should tell you something. This is why I'm mad. I wanted more characters to choose from. I basically only play as 4 different pokemon right now. I would like to test my self out with other pokemon. 700 hundred to choose from and they choose a god damn lamp fixture... OK thats fair

Isn't Vertigo basically dead atm?
>>
>>82452460
Nintendo said they dont wanna do more characters but they said that for Sm4sh as well, so more than likely yeah

>>
>>82452521
Well Nintendo may have said that, and they lie all the time, not to mention it's Namco developing the game and they're about as DLC-happy as Capcom.

Not to mention if it gets an NX re-release, it will almost certainly get new characters and stages. Maybe new assist Pokemon too.

>>82452555
Vertigo? Didn't the EIC just leave, making everyone lose their shit?

Scott Pilgrim is good and do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
But check out something more.. more?
Vertigo is a great place for newbies to read some really good stuff that isn't too far off the deep end.

The Sandman is a classic for a reason.
Transmetropolitan is amazing if you're a fan of satire, sci-fi, and great art.
Hellblazer is one of the best horror comics of all time. Especially the Delano ones.
Preacher (although I'm not a fan of it) is a classic gateway comic book for people used with capes and who wants something else. You might like it.

And if you want some /co/ bragging rights, while reading a very easy and VERY good comic. Get some Asterix (the Goscinny ones). Amazingly good French comics that are light hearted, extremely funny, and very intelligent. It's pretty much impossible to dislike them.

Does anyone ever have normies that think they know comics quiz them on a character when they see you wearing a cape shit. It happened like 5 times when I wear batman shirts.
"Nice batman shirt I bet you wouldn't mind if I quiz you to see if your a true fan."
"ok..."

The show got me interested in Flash Comics, and I've read everything I can get my hands on ever since it premiered.

Bart is best speedster anyway.

I've been reading comics for like 3-4 years now, I've read as much as I could from shit I liked.
I don't consider myself a casual, but I don't think I'm a huge expert either.
I wished there was some sort of test or anything to judge your comic book knowledge.
>>
>>82457356
The one's that I haven't read have been read by my brother and he recommended them, and by what he told me they are brety gud that's why I recommended them.

Also I don't remember runs from the top of my head ffs, if anything the ones that I have read have been good from day one (from that list that is) have been good for pretty much the whole comic...
>>
>>82457508
>Also I don't remember runs from the top of my head ffs,
You're just digging your hole deeper, casual.
>>
>>82455128
Well I mean Wally has been the flash since after COIE, and he kept the title until the reboot. Naturally more people that grew during that span will prefer his stories. Also Wally had more time for character developement in post crisis continuity.

Official /co/ Guide On How to Not Be a Casual (v0.9):

1, for every letter of the Latin alphabet, read at least one comic whose title begins with that letter.
2, for every letter of the Latin alphabet, read at least one comic whose publisher begins with that letter.
3, for every non-Antarctic continent, read at least one comic which was originally published there.
4, for every decade of the past century, read at least one comic which began publication in that decade.
5, learn at least one additional language and read at least one comic in that very same language.
6, create a new comic by scissoring apart an old comic and rearranging the panels in an original order.
7, create a new comic by writing/drawing it yourself, no matter how crude your skills (and in under 24 hours).
8, climb the Mount Everest of comics; read all of Cerebus the Aardvark by Dave Sim and Gerhard.
9, compile a list of your 100 favorite comics and then make a 10x10 mosaic from their covers.

Do all this and I won't consider you to be a casual.
>>
>>82457815
>Doing all of this arbitrary bullshit just to get some recognition from some random people on an anonymous image board.
Guess it's kinda my fault, I fid ask for a way to stop being a casual, but for fuck sake, man. This shit is just cranking it up to 11.
I'll just stick to my day job.
>>
>>82457547
sorry I don't memorize those things, just when I see a run I'm liking I look who is writing and that's it
>>
>>82457938
just read comics, dig into some indie stuff, say cape comics are shit on /co/ and you're golden
>>
>>82457477
Literally who cares, man. Only casuals worry if they are casuals.
>>
>>82457988
The fact that you don't pay attention to creators is a huge part of what makes you such a big casual, you casual.
>>
>>82458090
oh sorry mr I only read books by certain authors instead of keeping an open mind about the books about what I'm reading regardless of who is writing

with that said, just like anyone who reads comics I have certain authors and artists I like and of course will search comics by them first
>>
>>82458076
this

Calm down, casual. In any other thread I wouldn't care that you're a casual. But this thread is explicitly designed to laugh at casuals like you, so you should have expected this when you chose to come in.
